BTW you are a good rider. I did bring my Bonneville out of reitrement in 1992 beating the Kawaski 1100 GPZ fuel injected bike twice and the Honda CBR 1000 in a road race. They were both suprised to say the least. It was fun to be out accelerating them from the appex to the next appex. and fun to go through the turns faster. I do admit that by 1992 the GPS 1100 had fierce acceleration on a straight road. The second race he almost beat me but the lighter and better handling Bonneville beat him.
It was the handling of my 1976 T140V Triumph Bonneville that allowed for 10 years of Victories on the streets of Long Island and the 744cc Virtical twin, dual underhead cam's, short pushrods and Chrome Molly Frame that held the oil. Raced every bike for 10 years and she never blew up. Never crashed never lost. She was alway's stock, stock tires! Only Mod's remove mufflers, a drag bar with bar end mirrors, removed the seat padding for a lower center of gravity. I still have her. Rule Brittania.
My Bonneville 1976 T140V Triumph Bonneville never followed any 4 cyl bike on a twisty road. Not even a 1972 Norton, although the Norton did handle better than any other bike I raced. No sir never followed, not in the 10 years that I raced her on Long Island. Victories over all 750, 900, 1000 and 1100's 4 cyl's including a Laverda 750 SFC twin. My stock Bonneville weight was 395lbs., after I eventually removed both mufflers @ 350 lbs. I never had to modify my Triumph to win. I still have her.
Wow...what a stupid reply! Are you for real? Five gears and using three because 1st and 2nd are not options.
Nice job fast1000 with both the video production and riding skills. Ride it like you stole it. Negative comments are clearly from those who truly do not own/ride a Triumph Modern Classic.
F1000 certainly keeps it in the red - but this is after all a modern engine. I had a Bonnie in 1968 and when you got to 6800rpm (red line) you knew about it and things fell off! (mudguard stays, exhaust brackets, exhaust stubs, etc etc)
Not so with the Hinkleys it seems - well done modern engines, that's what they are there for.
I am seriously thinking about a white cast-wheel bonneville to join my TDM in the garage and take me back to my youth.
I just bought a 2009 Bonnie. Last of the ones with wire wheels. Great bike but can't believe Triumph scrimped on basic features like tacho and centre stand. I put the dual instrument pack on mine for an extra $500 :(
Good tidy ride. did the same thing in 2006 on a Hinkley Bonni but found the bike never scared me once. In fact however hard you pushed you just felt the bike wasn't evenbreaking sweat . However the Triton I took this year gave quit a few brown trouser moments!!!!
nice ride, good to stick it to them race replicas (wona beessss) im getting a bonnie soon, time to rest my R100, that is a great looking road, we have a few like it in oz but to many natzi cops!! love your style n sound...an to the ball less cunt that says blind corners too fast (FUCK OFF PUSSY)
Nice to see a Bonnie put through its paces. I was quite surprised to see it handle as well as it did!
My husband will be getting on, upon my return from Iraq. Settled on it based on price, performance and rideability (he's novice), size and weight, and, of course, appearance! I already own an '07 Rocket 3 Classic Tourer, so the new addition will make an all-Triumph garage!
Oh.....that makes me want to get one...the thing about a bonneville is it doesn't age. In other words it is a timeless bike. That will look beautiful no matter what time it is in. Much like the Ducati 1098.
But my gosh.....I want to get one. I want that to be my first bike. I'll get it probably when I get out of college and what not. *sighs*....yeah....good times. :)
I have a Hinkley Bonneville also. You get more thumbs up and people wanting to talk about them than other bike there is. Everyone appreciates them. You need some after market exhaust and they sound the best. Nice riding and video. Thanks.

Too much red line !

@youtalkiname hi, I totally agree. Too much red line - I've got a t100 and he either hates his bike or he is just another engine mangler.

That have you drive a Bonneville!!! Shot off japanese bikes. Classic Brittbikes rules!

I started to lean with you and wanted to shoot that white van (towards the end) as I was screaming, "move! move!" You woulda had them crotch rockets!

She goes good but not as good as yours on the top end. Cheers mate.
