and with this poomse...ITF has named it after korean assasins who killed jap military leaders, such as anjoongun who assasinated HiroBumIito...cant call it jap product really, besides japs got their kata from the chinese.

I agree it is a good video and it wakes deep toughs about Taekwondo. But you need to remember that Taekwondo has NO philosophy. If you don't beleve me, ask my 9:dan instructor.
TKD does have a Philosophy. It's to build a more peaceful world. This is the Philosophy and goal of TKD. To accomplish this goal TKD begins with the foundation, the individual. TKD strives to develop the character, personality, & positive moral & ethical traits in each practitioner.
TKD helps mold each individual into a well-rounded & responsible person so that he/she can pass the traits learned through TKD onto others. Thus individuals unite and become a family, families come together & form a community, communities merge & develop into a nation, & nations are what make up our present-day world. In the end you get the result of a more peaceful world.
Do you have any proof for your statement? The Taekwondo techniques, poomsaes are taken from the Japanese shotokan karate. And the poomsae "ying-yang-philosophy" is taken from China. Taekwondo has no originality nor anything is korean philosophy, it's all fake. Read the history books.
Yes. Read up on it. You do know how to use google right? Not to be a smart ass but do you have any proof that TKD techniques & poomsaes are taken from Jap Karate? Do you even practice TKD? If you do I feel sorry for your Sa Bum Neem. Quite honestly I would hate to have a student that goes around bad mouthing there martial art.
sabumnimsgirl24 and elekko are both right. poomsaes were taken from shotokan technique, but the philosophy that taekwon-do is built on is purely korean ancient philoshophy.
Finaly, a TKD movie on youtube that actualy showcases more of the wholeness of TKD... As far as the comments on this, and every other tkd movie go...There is plenty of punching, and hand techniques in TKD... You can't get your black belt with out them...
Im rejoining TKD as soon as possible again. When i was little like 5 years old, my dad would say, MIKE its time to go to taekwondo and i always whined aww and stuff. But now i wanna go i used to think it was boring cause i never really knew what i was doing there. Now im 15 and i wanna kick some ass at school haha! no, i will follow kiumsum you will learn that word at red belt
The reason why those guys are running int eh woods is because its from a korean movie. THe movie is called "spin kick" or in korean, "Dolryeochagi." I enjoyed watching the movie, if you like the sportish tkd, its a cool movie.
Pure beauty, the way of the foot and fist in it's true nature. This shows why Tae Kwon Do has evolved into a truly indigenous Korean Martial art, it is more than sport, more than art, it is a way of life! :)
Wtf is plain silly. Why would you ingore the fact that arms are useful for hitting with? Kicking is cool, but so are punches. Oh, and by the way, how many lone people do you see jogging, in the WOODS, in their do bok's?
perhaps because their culture is heavily influenced in it...? like the way u get jap women walkin around in them giesha cloths and make uped etc...? just a hunch
Do you truly believe that? You must be out of your mind! That video was purely comercial, and those people never truly jog outdoors in their do bok's...
If you are in the street there are punch, hit-head and some other. I think TWD is very beautiful to see but not really good for 'street fight or self defense
Is that a misspelling? I think it is... Anyways, however musch I resent the fact, it does seem to be true, to a certain extent. In the street, the attacker would have the surprise-moment, so there TKD isn't too much help really...
Ja, i think there are lot misspellings.. my english is very down level -i'm italian- scuse me. But the concept is clear: why TWD doesn't use punch? I see in youtube some videos of Olimpiadi and in the fight there isn't punch Why this beautiful martial art doesn't use ? I'm forty and when i was young make judo for 7 years. i went national champino in my category. Now, i'd like take on another martial art. TWD like me but...box-sock-punch?? where are???? I'm undecided from TWD or AIKI-DO...
Allmost every form of takwon do does do punches, but the weirdos over at world taekwon do federation have som weird oppinion that arms should be ingnired at all costs. And for christs sakes, do not start training Aiki-Do, it's usefull to a certain degree, but after a ear or so, you might as well quit for all of what you're going to learn the next six years...
hmmmm maybe i should try and do both ......... umm i got the song buy dowbloading a recorder and recording the song off my cpu if u want the song jus give me ur email and i will email it to u.
great video

LOL sabu... that is deep! martial arts are the extension of philosophical systems, and not vise versa!

How does the philosophy of something come before the "something" itself? Thats like saying that milk came before cows....

Tae: jumping or flying (foot)
Kwon: Fist or breaking (fist)
Do: Art or way (art)

TKD was ment to be lived. the first form of tkd (the one i practice) was never ment to be a sport, but as a way of life.
