For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

What a truth - the message of our key verse in our reading today, verse 8. It is the grace of our wonderful Lord and Savior Jesus Christ - it is the grace by which we are saved. There was no work that I could do to be made pure, only the blood of Jesus Christ could cleanse me, and you, and make us whole.
And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive?
bla bla bla..... Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
This rocket is derived from the famous Russian R-7 booster of the mid-50's. Current developer is RKK Energia. "All R-7 types have completed more than 1,700 launches since 1956." "The basic three stage Soyuz uses the time-tested Semyorka booster, consisting of a core stage and four strap-on boosters. Each booster is powered by an RD-107 kerosene/liquid oxygen (LOX) engine, as is the core engine." Sources: RIA Novosti & Space Launch Report in GeoCities
No offense, but your statement is not correct. The Soyuz engines burn kerosene & liquid oxygen (LOX). Source: Russian RIA Novosti & many other sites.
Russia does use solid fuel for the TOPOL-M ICBM rocket, which is one of the most capable ICBMs in the world, probably as good as the latest US Minuteman III series. The Soyuz series has completed many more launches than any other system in the world.
I am not sure about the fuel, but I have noticed that this old Russky design works well. I respect Russian engineering---Their students tend to be very good at math & physics, and it shows here.

The space shuttle is also heavier and burns more fuel to get it into space.
