  • How Did Yuh Rig It

  • @elevated5000 This is rigged wacky. You can also texas rig it, which is the most common.

  • i love ur videos where do u buy ur fishing tackle from

  • @fishassasin365 I but the regular stuff like senkos, flukes, jerkbaits at Walmart or sporting good stores. The specialty stuff like the swimbaits, hand poured worms, and hard to find lures, I always use Tacklewharehouse online. They are the best and 100% trustworthy.

  • i only fish with watermelon magic super flukes , best thing i have ever tried been using it for years. i hope u dont change ur bait

  • hey man what kind of braid do you use for your spinning rod?

  • @kroganeye I think this was 10 or 15 pound power pro.

  • this is random.......but you seem like a really nice person

  • @tnfishing1 Thanks dude

  • @phytobedo welcome

  • the sore spots on the bass are anchor worms we get alot of them in east canyon in utah it a parasite that happens from water temperature changes warm to fast but the fish's slime has to be taken off from something wether it be from being caught before or rubbing on something

  • 3.5lb max LOL

  • whats the deal with it every time you get a fish the fluke works its way up the line?

does this happen all the time when rigged wacky? seems like it would preserve the fluke from gettin tore up

lol all the comments are like the same thing over and over

  • @nick4203 Sometimes it slides up the line. It will do the same if you Texas rig it. Somethimes it just tears off. If you wacky rig senko style worms, try the wacky rig rings. They save tons of worms.

  • @nick4203 ita just plastics in general they always slide up the line

  • nice fishing my friend. where is this place at?

  • @Moyniac Port Saint Lucie, Florida. Unfortunately, I cant access this spot any longer.

  • @phytobedo dang i wish i could fish that kind of bass over here in California, i just started fishing lke 4 months ago and the biggest fish ive caught (Bass) was like 9 inch

  • @Moyniac The biggest bass in the world live in California. Do some research and go catch em!

  • @Moyniac Where abouts do you live? im from so cal and probley point you in a direction if your from my parts.

  • @manner1232 i live in LA county, what about you?

  • @phytobedo lemme guess they built a million houses or stores all around it?

  • @HughMungus2k9 How'd you know

  • @phytobedo welcome to South Florida... PSL down to Palm Beach.. construction has killed all the secret spots... I found 3 lakes side by side behind an old dump... lilly pads all over the lake.. however ive pulled a 9 and a few 5's outta this lake.. However drove past it like a week ago... THEY FILLED THEM IN! Now they are building houses there...like we need more f'ing houses.. Okeechobee is calling my name.

  • Is this wacky rigged? Is that how you normally rig flukes? How do I work them?

  • @virginiabassin it is wacky rigged. The most popular way to rig them is Texas style. I use both. Most people haven't tried a fluke wacky rigged, but it works very well.

  • @virginiabassin rig a double fluke and walk the dog on top water.. deadly

  • @Ravensfootball1199 I've never fished for smallies. Try a drop shot with a Berkely Gulp. Or an old fashioned tube.

  • Welfare can't afford a boat

  • i use light purple zoom

  • Love how everyone who comments on videos these days is an expert on "what you did wrong". The man's catching fish, so he's obviously doing it right.

  • @falter2010 Thanks dude

  • what kind of hook are u using..??

  • @weedheadbluntrollwiz Don't remember. Probably a wide gap worm hook.

  • be nicer to the bass when you put them back, no point in C and R if you murder the damn thing throwing it back,,,,

  • be nicer to the bass when you put them back, no point in C and R if you murder the damn thing throwin it back,,,,

  • A lil faster I mean

  • @bassinassasin21 Ha, I got it. Thanks

  • @phytobedo where was that?

  • U need to put you a little 16th bullet weight on there it will sink a lil slower

  • Not sure if this has been answered yet, but the scars you mentioned are from the spawn. The scars are usually more visible on the males who sweep/create beds in the pre-spawning times.

  • @Boucheezie11 Thank you

  • Did u wacky rig those flukes? I just bought the same zoom flukes and I haven't caught anything

  • @passipassiLAP Yep, wacky rigged.

  • @phytobedo Why the hell would you wacky them?

  • @sniperglory4 Try something they haven't seen

  • @passipassiLAP

I would use BPS Stik-O's or other stick worms for wacky rigging. For the soft plastic shad baits like these or the BPS Shadee's go weedless with a weighted hook and work them like a jerkbait.

  • good video man

  • @chevy32935 thanks

  • What size hook do you use with the 7 inch fluke?

  • @dougiefreshny I would use a 5 ot extra wide gap hook. If you'll be wacky rigging it, you can use a smaller hook.

  • @phytobedo i have 4.0 gamakatsu hooks i should probably go buy bigger ones huh

  • @dougiefreshny Probably. The extra wide gap is the most important part. 4.0 will work too though.

  • @phytobedo Thanks mans, ive use the 5 inch flukes and just bought the seven in ones a couple days ago.I wanted too try them out at a bass tournament this saturday hopefully they work good

  • What size braid do you like best with a spinning reel and have you ever heard of or tried a "donkey rig" with flukes?

  • @bigwhey Probably 10 lb braid. I have not heard of a "donkey rig", do explain.

  • @phytobedo 1. Tie a 18 inch leader with hook of your choice to a swivel.

    2. Thread main line through swivel ( do not tie it)

    3. Tie another swivel to main line with 8-10 inch leader and hook.

    4. The swivel in #1 slides up and down main line.

    5. Use a little heavier hook on #3 will help with tangles.

    6. The sliding swivel must be longer to prevent tangles.

You will still get tangled some but can catch doubles when they are schooling.

  • @bigwhey oh, yes I've heard of the old double fluke rig. Just never heard it called the donkey rig.

  • @bigwhey do you think it is just pointless?

  • Do you use a leader when fishing soft plastics with braid? I just kind of got into the whole superline thing, and I have some black braid that I dont know if I should tie a leader to.

    Mark

  • @gowolves4 I wasn't in this video, but I think it's better to use a leader. You can use mono or fluoro. Just make sure you look up the knot and practice it few times. You may also want to add a drop of super glue to the knot.

  • I really enjoyed this video. Never seen one done like this! What line are you using?

  • @bigwhey This was a while ago. I don't remember what kind of line it was. It sounds like braid, most likely Power Pro.

  • not even close to 5 lbs its more like 3

  • nice! gonna go and try some bass fishing with some flukes for the first time tomorrow!

  • @vengence666 good luck!

  • bloody tail happens during the spawn when the bass scrape the bottom to make its nest most likely a buck bass

  • Respond to this video... Thanks

  • I have had the most success with the blue back one i think its called albino, doesnt really matter how you rig it they will tear it up. My dad just now listened to me and started using one after days of going fishing and me catching them left and right and him not getting anything lol. I use the standard rig through the back and back through the stomach.

  • @jmill2626 Nice

  • nice fish man, i recommend the kvd perfect plastics caffine shad it is a heavier fluke with a different kind of tail, i think it would work where you fish. Just a suggestion, good fishin!!!!

  • what state are you fishin in

  • what are the main color choices that you like to use for flukes, please reply.

  • @bayoubassmaster71 I like white since it is a very bright color but still natural. Chartreuse, Arkansas Shiner, ot he natural colors you mentioned- green pumpkin etc. One last color- Zoom makes a hot pink fluke, and it really works!

  • @phytobedo thanks alot for helping me man, best of luck

  • youre supposed to wacky rig worms dude youll catch more

  • dude theres no way that first fish was 4lbs lol more like 2

  • First fish was 2.5-3 pounds and the second was like 2 maybe lower

  • @mrbassaddicto3 Your right about it working really well. Most bass fisherman accept that wacky rigging Senko style worms is very effective, but wacky rigging almost any soft plastic can be VERY effective. Wacky rigging things like swimbaits, flukes, creature baits etc. is getting attention even at the professional level.

  • what size hook are you using to wacky rig with

  • @jcstrides I don't remember what I was using at the time. If you're wacky rigging a big fluke like a 7 inch

Super Fuke, I would recommend an extra wide gap hook. I'll use the same hook to Texas rig it and when the nose tears, I'll wacky rig it to get more use out of the worm.

  • your rigging it wrong

  • @bassfishu You have a video showing how to Texas rig a fluke. That is also a great way to rig it!

  • nice fish..and vid

  • @fishnman1000 thank you

  • want to see big bass at kepp1212

  • Super flukes are not good lures but great lures especially pre and post spawn.

Try rigging them like you would a texas rigged worm with the hook through the flaps. Not only is it weedless but much better action. Creates a walk the dog type action that drives fish crazy.

  • its kinda windy there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hi i usaully use the regular size and they do good ive also tried the lunker city slug gos they do good too and many other baits but here lately i been a banjo minnow nut lol and see if i can catch some more with them ive also use the bionic minnows too they are different from the banjo minnows i tried the skatter shad but they no longer maded wish i bought a ton of them the bass went ape of them lol

  • ok u should try the banjo minnows ive read good reviews on them u can get them at bass pro shop or on or on ebay

  • hi i got good seccess on zoom super flukes aswell they are good lures by the way have you use the banjo minnow there in that spot

  • @bluejay148 haven't tried the banjo minnow. Looks good though

  • did you whacky rig that fluke? if you did does it work better that way?

  • @357magnum98 You get some wild action out of it. Just make sure you get the flukes that sink.

  • thats real we do pipes at the place we fish

  • @backyardhunters2000 lay off the pipes, they'll kill ya

  • @phytobedo hahaha

  • Nice Video! I got some zoom super flukes and have been very successfull with them!

  • @MrNitrorcx nice!

  • the reason why its bleeding on its tail is because it is making beds for the femails

  • @killer6ful You're right

  • wacky rigged fluke?.

  • @xxgg Yep, try it out!

  • Aligators, where are you?

  • @graymatter1985a Waiting for me to fall off this pipe

  • @graymatter1985a im guessing florida with those big bass and alligators?

  • @LippinSmallmouth You got it!

  • It was a Gamakatsu wide gap made for Texas rigging. I think it was a 4 ot. To wacky rig it, you don't need a hook that big. It's just what I had tied on at the time.

  • What size hook are you using?

  • When the bass are spawning they use theyre tail and fins to dig a bed and the bass get cut up from whatever is on the bottom

  • about the marks, its is from them being in post spawn and shedding their old scales and laying eggs and the stress

  • @Ethazoid Alright, thanks

  • @phytobedo The marks are from fresh water eels . They get on the fish when there spawning. ( note the almost perfect circle of the wound on its gill plate) Bass fishing 101 for yah The male make the nest and try to get the females to lay there eggs in them but they do not lay all there eggs in one nest they will lay in a bunch of different nest the males stay with the nest after the females lay all there eggs they go back to deeper water to rest ......

  • @kybluesnbass wow

  • Did you just rig this up texas or how did you do it. Was looking but couldn't tell.

  • @nolangreen Wacky rigged. Hooked right through the middle.

  • what kind of hooks?

  • @mw2beastin100 I think it was just a red Gamakatsu worm hook, the kind you would use for Texas rigging.

  • easy way to tell if it a male/female if the lips sticks out its a female if not top and bottom jaw will be farily well allined

  • @kroganeye Really? Good to know

  • bravo!

  • What kind of fluke are you using?

  • @whiteblade212 7 inch Zoom Super Mag Fluke

  • I hate when ppl say your guess is way off or question your weight, I'm usually almost spot on for bass up to 6-7lbs after that it gets kinda hard to judge precisely. I love watching this video it never gets old. I like how you barley fling it out there and let it slowly float on down and get plowed! Great Video.

  • @EGOTTLIEB12 Thanks for the compliments. The weight thing is no big deal. I enjoy people commenting on my vids. I'm really surprised that people like this video so much. I almost didn't post it, but it's my most popular by far. I'm glad I did!

  • dude you are on the money with the first fish that was about 4 or 5 pounds great catch and keep pulling them in like that

  • @TheBountyhunter2000 Hey, thanks. A fish this size isn't worth debating, but I'm always happy to catch em! Size of fish on video can be very deceiving. Camera angle, distance, lighting, and size of the person all matter. A 4 pound fish can look 7 pounds or a 4 pound fish can look 2 pounds depending on all of these factors. I'm 6 ft 1, a bass in my hands looks a lot different than someone 5 ft 6 etc. Now, watching back I would say its about 3.25 lbs. Way smaller than the 10+ I'm dreaming of!

  • that first fish was not 4lbs more like 2, 2 half

  • @TheBassfanatics How many 2- 2.5 pounders have you weighed in your life?

  • @TheBassfanatics sorry man i did not mean to critisize you or anything, just saw it wrong i guess, but i still liked your vid

  • @TheBassfanatics Hey, no offense taken. Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • @phytobedo you welcome

  • some great catches.

  • @rrodrigu73 Thanks!

  • I noticed you were using a spinning rod. I think a lot of bass fisherman have lost belief in spinning rods. But its all about using the best tool for the job in my opinion. What's your setup? I subscribed and look forward to more great videos in the future!

  • @CoosaSpots Thanks. I'll send you the info in a private message. I'm not sure of the exact model at the moment.

  • Very nice, dude. Especially from terra firma.

  • @VinnyjojoFish Thanks, It is a beautiful place to fish, if that's what you mean.

  • @phytobedo y r u rigging up the fluke tht way is it better than texas riging it and skimming it across he surface for surface strikes?

  • @fishingdaybyday It's just a standard wacky rig except I'm using a fluke instead of a Senko or Yum Dinger that you would usually see wacky rigged. With wacky rigs, you get a lot of strikes by just letting the bait free fall with no tension on the line. The bait will shimmy all the way to the bottom, and it's irresistible.

  • my friends get sooo pissed when i catch fish on a fluke lol

  • @efalhe That's funny

  • @phytobedo you should see em.. its hilarious

  • Nice fishing spot haha great catches!

  • @EGOTTLIEB12 Thanks EGO!

  • U should get urself a hat cam.

I can barely get any good view of your hook sets and such.

  • @therealneon It is a hatcam. This video is pretty old, I use a wide angle lens now, which gives you a little better view.

  • NICE!

I like ur whacky fluke technique...I mite try that next time I go fishing.

  • why a fluke wacky rig?

  • @newyorkbass Try it out. It twitches and quivers like a dying baitfish. I do it sometimes to get more use out of the fluke too. I'll rig it Texas style, then after I catch a couple fish and it rips, I'll rig it wacky.

  • @phytobedo thanks i will have to tryt it out.. on spinning or casting?rod and reel?

  • @newyorkbass I like to use a spinning rod, but either type would be fine.

  • were u standing on the pipe

  • @littlepondfisherman Yeah, I was. That thing is wobbly too. I've fallen off of it more than once. Once it starts to shake, momentum builds up and there's no stopping it!

  • nice catch! I also like how you experimented with how to rig the fluke and found that wacky rigging works... even though a lot of people don't use a fluke that way.

  • @bluesky8921 Thanks, I think wacky rigged flukes will be a common thing in the near future. The action is unreal.

  • You didn't rig it right, but nice bass.

  • @UnidudeRS Thanks, but it's rigged exactly how I wanted it to be rigged. Amazing things happen when you hook a fluke dead in the middle. It's not a bait most people wacky rig, but try it. It dances and flutters like you wouldn't believe.

  • its post spawn marks

  • I use a Flip Ultra HD. If you have any type of video camera though, you can set it on a tripod or just prop it up and film. Sometimes I use a tripod sometimes a hatcam. The hatcam lets you be more mobile.

  • How do you shoot a fishing video ?

  • The cuts are from the spawn. When the females fan the beds, they can cut up their tales a bit. I like the super flukes btw. I normally rig up texas style, but its nice to see the wacky style in action. Their great for skipping under docks. Do you use any sort of weighted hook or split shot?

  • @ojj85 Thanks for the answer. I usually don't use a weight with flukes, but sometimes I'll use a weighted hook with soft swimbaits.

  • rubbing up against the rocks/bottom thats how they get cuts on them caught the same also

  • @gandcsportswar Thanks, that makes sense.

  • what lake are you fishing at?

  • @Flex936 It's a small lake/ large pond in the middle of a swamp near my house.

  • How did u rig it

  • how did u rig the fluke

  • @mustflyty1 wacky

  • u have that fluke riged all wrong, rig it just like u would a 7 inch worm, thats what that hiding flaps are for, i caught a 4-6 lb bass off one of these in a pond

  • @MegaBahhumbug It's rigged that way on purpose.

  • we go up to a lake in minnesota once every year and we use flukes in the early morning like at 5:45 AM to 8:00 Am and we use them like jerk baits so we jerk them and it does catch fish i hooked about a 6 or 7 pound bass on the fluke but it broke the line im useing 6 pound line
