Yeah I know its fucked up General Caine is one of my top 5 favorite funk groups but what I meant was he still did two more albums like in 1986 and 1987 under General Kane which are more of a mix of pop and hip hop than funk although I never take them records out for a listen anymore I keep them for the sake of the GC collection
the bass line is what got me at first but as i got older i started noticing other instruments, shit i was young but when i got this album i had also bought kiddo's debut also produced by reggie andrews and ndugu not to mention klique's inside me or dazz band's joystick or swoop that was one heck of a year for them and their studio musicians
Well you guys really put it down nice, music doesnt get made like this anymore. I wish more people recognized but its getting there, I know back in 1995 I payed $65 to get my copy of Dangerous when people were still learning about Barkays but alot of rare funk has and is becoming easier to come about nowdays and thats gooood.
I've got to very, very sexy lady friends they are lovers they really like this track they dance to it all the time Ron Desha and Ladonna they live out in Portland Oregon. Out here in Iowa City Iowa. Keith D. Cobbin
This is not from the same album that has Girls (spring/early summer 1982). Is this 1983?
His recordings in the early 80s, except for the album with Girls, seem very rare. I read that his name was thought to be a reference to cocaine, so he had trouble getting airplay. He to change the spelling of his last name. I'd love to hear his stuff from 1980-81.
look up just in time, im the man, get down attack, jungle music and shake from general caine if you wanna hear their earlier work prior to girls, it was like 78 or 79 for their debut and 1980 for get down attack, after that it wasnt until 1982 when girls came out, 1983 dangerous, 1984 a single, wheres the beef for capitol which was a rip off of bomb body and after that the funk was pretty much gone
dam im only 19 n i think this shit bangs......... keep it old skool man

I was 12 years old when I got this album and it remains one of my all time favorites, anything made by Reggie Andrews and Leon Chancler is the shit

I really enjoyed locking grooves with Ndugu for
General Caine
Johnny Guitar Carson
jvciem 4 years ago
Yeah the Caine
Thats a Johnny Guitar Carson influenced groove
he is the guitarist on this tune
He more known as a lead guitar player
But he is holding down the beat CBS style
Ndugu is there also
