The computer generated Spider-man Cartoon may be jittery and hard to watch ..but it is far more intelligent.

Here, it did turn out to be an established villain from the comics, Walter Hardy the Catburglar - but somehow that's less egregious than making it Sandman. Especially since it's not a retcon, it's a reveal.
