Can't stop watching this! And can't stop having my mind blown by Ryan's ridiculous guitar tone! For anyone wondering that's what you get when you put a 1967 (I beleive) Gibson ES-335 TD through Four Fender Princeton Tube amps, add plenty of vintage reverb and well. SEXY TONE
What;s up with Ryan's eyes at 3:29-3:32? They're glowing beyond belief, lol. Has to be some kind of reflection, but I don't that strong of light or any light at all shining on him.
i love this version it has more punch than the albums one, but has anyone else notist that at 1:07 it look like lazor beams are shooting out of the guitarist eyes ay Ryan?
i've seen Ryan and the Cardinals 3 times now and the last time in like January he played a rocking version of this jamming for like 10minutes straight he had been having radio interference all night and was aggravated with his singing and just started to jam.
ryan adams has taken a leave of abscense from playing music and quit the cardinals. he has relocated to france with his wife mandy moore and is now publishing books. he has not commented on weather or not he will return to the industry. personally, i support whatever choice he makes on the issue, but i will always want new music
Ryan is a petulant little prick in concert (most of the time). When he isn't, there is no one better live. he seems to have a healthy disrespect for his fans, which is unfortunate given how much they adore him.
Just saw him last nite (2.22.009) and he was great! Charming, funny, goofy. Started on time & played 3 hours. The band was great. I had heard about his bad behavior as well but getting clean and sober will go a long way toward improving attitude.
i traveled to see him in KC on the 27th of februrary. they started forty minues, took a twenty minute intermission, and played sixteen songs. i loved the show, but it couldve been longer like allthe other nights. i didnt think he would end with bartering line and not encore, but it was done. maybe he wasnt feeling well.
I was just blown off my chair. What a fucking JAM. I had no idea where it was gonna go and was happily shocked to see them find their way back to the hook and tie it all together at the end. Brilliant shit!
Have you ever seen them live? They are sooo amazing with the jams. The get way way out there in space, and somehow they always manage to bring you back down to earth. i'd recommend checking out some of their live stuff if you like this. Especially East Plateau, Bartering Lines, I See Monsters, and Shakedown on 9th Street (any from this most recent west coast tour are particularly face-melting)
neil casal is the perfect fit for ryan adams. he is just absolutely perfect for this band and adds a complete other layer to the music that wasn't there until he joined. absolutely amazing.
i've seen the Cards twice in the last year; one acoustic and once full-band electric. both performances were completely stunning. been really looking for a band that can take me to "that place" again. looks like they're here...
Yeah have to go with KevinDove on that one. Saw him with the Cardinals in Newcastle, UK and he was awful. He kept segueing off into lengthy and strange self indulgent riffs that bore no relation to the song and the sound was shit. The song selection sucked; kicked off with 'please do not let me go' strange tune to kick off with and every time he played a crowd pleaser he did some alternative version took you ages to realize what you wer listening to! Disappointing but this...this is awesome.
He was interacting with the audience by calling them idiots, over and over again. He didn't say one word till half way through the show when he started insulting their intelligence of people whop paid 60 bucks to hear him play 15 minute jam sessions of slow-paced sleepers.
Plus, he obsessively tuned his guitar during numerous songs, whichm ent he wasn't playing his part and kept bitching at the monitor mix dude to turn up his mic- he must have done this about 15 times. He was a spoiled brat to me. I bet his road crew want to kick the shit out of him every night.
hell no, why does everyone relate ryan to neil young sooo much. i mean they have their simularities, but they end there. this riff don't sound nothing like something neil would have wrote, nor would neil have integrated the guitar into a song like this.
Just nice to see that someone still has some skills
