Windows Vista suffered from new "beta" groundgenerator.. Windows 7 got the DOS version that Windows XP used.. Vista was, and still is, a very unstable Operative System. Deal with it.. Microsoft released an own explanation about Vista`s problem, so everyone saying Vista was without errors, is very mistaken. wrong.... i like these videos generally but i have seen issues with vista. in some rare situations. in terms of it working as designed it does. in terms of being software and hardware friendly it is a different story. in the making of the o/s, i think they should have incorporated more things to smooth the transition. the o/s is not just being used by geeks. my conclusion is it doesn't matter now, and they failed to make it user friendly as everyone was using it.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Windows 7 benchmarks about the exact same as xp on a single core processor. But when you start using a dual, tri, quad, or hex core processor, windows 7 starts to beat xp in performance. Why? Because 7 is just newer and better software. The kernel is more advanced over the kernel in xp which was released back in 2001. Also there is no "hack" to change this. Its on a kernel level.
I think that Microsoft should stick to 1 system like XP Pro and keep improving it till they reach perfection, but no Microsoft doesn't have enough money they want more!
I've used Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. XP was the worst of all. I've used four XP systems, and each one died at the first BSOD, none of them recovered. My Windows 7 has got the BSOD plenty of times and it has recovered from every one. However I NEVER got a BSOD when I was using Vista, it never froze either, I had the least trouble with Vista.

I've run Vista X64 on 3 machines since it came out as well as running it on 20 machines at work a few months after it launched. Its been absolutely bulletproof - not a single freeze or bluescreen.
First make sure the hardware is good by running memtest overnight then Prime95 overnight. If you get errors, chances are you've got some hardware issues. Dont install every toolbar or beta driver you can find and avoid hacked software. A UPS will also rule out power issues.

Patches have fixed all that. Now the OS is fine. Windows 7 is still faster and more efficient however.

I have had many many problems with Vista, BUT i have solved ALL of those problems! At 1 moment i wanted to try Windows 7 so i tried it. and i thought it would be better version of Vista. I was wrong. Only better thing of 7 was that internet connection didnt broke when my computer was working hard to run all the programs. I hated the hardness to find anything you need from the folders of 7. In Vista those folders were easier to find and more simple and in anyway much much better. So i kept Vista.

I've run Vista X64 on 3 machines since it came out as well as running it on 20 machines at work a few months after it launched. Its been absolutely bulletproof - not a single freeze or bluescreen.
First make sure the hardware is good by running memtest overnight then Prime95 overnight. If you get errors, chances are you've got some hardware issues. Dont install every toolbar or beta driver you can find and avoid hacked software. A UPS will also rule out power issues.

Your a crap men! How could you tell that there is no problem with Windows Vista.
Here's my story and this happened twice! I tried to moved files from documents folder and transferred it into an external hard drive but after I noticed that the files still left in the documents folder, I decided to delete and whoah! Both copies were deleted!!!
It only happened to me with Vista!
Grrr!

I never had a problem with Vista. Maybe the fact full-screen command prompt was disabled is a little upsetting, but I've never had issues.

You people have no clue including the maker of this vid. For a long time after vista came out it was a complete piece of garbage. Nothing worked right, it was plauged with incompatibility problems. Patches have fixed all that. Now the OS is fine. Windows 7 is still faster and more efficient however.

Then I let Windows install "securtiy updates", Now instead of seeing a thumbnail, every last damn video now only shows a black box. Oh the video plays ok, but stupid useless Windows fucked up the thumbnail creation. I know it was one of the Windows updates, because nothing else has been added or changed on the system and rolling back to a earlier restore point fixed things. This is classic Microsoft stupidity. They have no idea what they're doing.

This moron in the video has got to one of the biggest idiots on YouTube. Windows Visa just like every other version of Windows going back to the very first release is riddle you boned-headed stupid coding errors. That is something Microsoft admits and they do nothing to fix them. Even funnier is their pathetic updates often make things worse, not better. I'll give you one example. I haven an extensive collection of videos. Thousands. Until a few days ago each correctly showed a thumbnail.

Using Vista 64 Bit for almost 4 Years now. Never any Bluescreen and all programs work fine. I really wonder what people do wrong with it for having problems with it.

If you know how to use google and use even a little bit of brains and even TRY to find the solution to your problem you will get everything work. Like i said in my last comment you can get every software to work on Vista. And every graphic cards, and sound cards and everything! Google has been invented to make peoples lifes much easier!

I have had many many problems with Vista, BUT i have solved ALL of those problems! At 1 moment i wanted to try Windows 7 so i tried it. and i thought it would be better version of Vista. I was wrong. Only better thing of 7 was that internet connection didnt broke when my computer was working hard to run all the programs. I hated the hardness to find anything you need from the folders of 7. In Vista those folders were easier to find and more simple and in anyway much much better. So i kept Vista.

I had windows vista for 3 years and I had NO PROBLEM at all!

@knex96 No problem! You should be able to, but try setting compatability settings for the games just to make sure. If you have Windows 7 Ultimate or Business, you can download a Windows XP Virtual Machine, from Microsoft for free
