He requested that his body be placed face down in his casket so that he could be symbolically face-to-face with Marilyn. A few years ago, his widow was trying to sell the crypt that he is in for some enormous amount of money. She planned on moving his body a few spaces over if the sale was successful. Crypts near Marilyn are said to go for $500,000 or more. Amazing.

i just visited her grave on Aug. 5 and it was PACKED with flowers, notes, letters ect. - what was weird was that her tomb(not sure what its called) stuck out more then the others. i could actually push it in and out.

This cemetary is called Westwood Memorial Park. It is very hard to find, and you have to go out of your way to locate it. Some of the most famous people in hollywood history are buried here, including Don Knotts, Rodney Dangerfield, Dean Martin, Roy Orbison, Carol O'connor, Merv Griffin and many others. It's not too far from the UCLA campus. If your out in L.A. it's certainly worth visiting.

Dean Martin, Jack Lemmon, Natalie wood, they are all in this little cemetery. I traveled all the way from N.C to go there. Its silly but I have loved Marilyn forever. I just walked right to it, not knowing exactly where it was but I didnt even have to look. I stood there and I really just cried for her. The pain and sadness she felt her whole life. No love and just being alone and 36 yrs old! I just feel connected to her in a weird way. Its silly but I ant help it. So misunderstood.

Its much more quiet than I would have expected. You can easily tell which tomb is hers as its been touched so much more than the ones around it. I heard they were thinking of restoring it.
