I have had the great pleasure to see Stacy perform in a small jazz club in Minneapolis, and she is a real treat. After the show, her and Jim came out into the bar and talked with some of us. Nice people!
This was 4-5 years and I am not sure if she comes to the US much any more. Shame, I would love to see her again, she just gets better and better.
I prefer her French pronunciation to her English.
Richard Rogers was a hard authoritarian man who dressed like a banker and declined to say much about his composing. But his best melodies, such as this one, leave me in tears.
What a pleasure to hear this faintly bossa arrangement sung so naturally and beautifully revealing why men just adore lovely women especially those who can evoke this so romantic atmosphere-wonderful Thanks Bluesb for the posting-great.
I think my admiration for this lady's talent has been well documented on YouTube pages. She is one of the finest and few song stylists that we have left in this country. I think she's marvelous.
Surely she did listen to the Astrud Gilberto/ Stan Getz version before , but it's good.

This is a deceptively hard song to do. I've heard good artists do it badly. Stacey Kent does it very well.

And, I think, if I'm not mistaken, accompanied by her husband on most records. Yes, she's a real treasure!
