  • The real version

  • Looks like Ted Nugent lol

  • wtf is a rascal flatt? steele is tha man

  • This man has so much passion for this song, you can tell it means the world to him.. Rascal Flatts can go suck it..

  • Mr. Steele is the best song writer ever...

  • i love hearing the writers sing THEIR songs....it adds something extra that no one else can add....i liked rascal flats ..i LOVED arron lewis....but jeffrey steele gets all the props for this song!!

  • Check out Mycountrysongs on YouTube

  • not taking away from Mr. Steele but i think Aaron Lewis sings it better.

  • @redline2300 I agree 100% with you

  • done with loading and extracting and wathever heck it out

  • i found an amazing cover of it but i dont know how to show... i trie it with tubecatcher and make an move answere gimme a half an hour...... bg mfg Bre

  • Who are the four assholes who don't like this?

  • jeffrey steele sounds wayyyy better also i think that aaron lewis sings this song wayyy better than rascal flatts

  • @dannyjmulch For sure. I just saw Aaron Lewis about a month ago here in Oregon, and he covered this song. It was pretty phenomenal.

  • Rascal Flatts destroyed this song. Look for a cover of this song by Aaron Lewis. Phenomenal.

  • @lithium803 just watched Aaron's version-best ever, great song but ur right it went to a teeny bop band, might as well went to justin bieber.

  • @G0H0GZ Glad you got a chance to watch it. I couldn't agree more. :)

  • So much better than those country queers Rascal Flatts.

He has real emotion... Rascal Flatts just sounds like testicles being caught in a vice grip.

  • sorry yall not even close, he owns this song in every way, this will always be his, no one can touch that performance!!! Hands down

  • yeah his son did die in an ATV accident he lost control and it flipped and landed on him he performed a private show at a party instead of birthday presents we all donate to the Alex fund

  • considering that Rascal Flatts was the most played artist on the radio the year this came out i'd say he is pretty freakin rich lol

  • @huntingisforgirls Have you checked out Jeffrey's website, if not you will blow you away how many hit songs he has written for not just R.F, but Montgomery Gentry, both Tim & Faith, Van Zandt & a host of others. Check out any of the CD's for both R.F. & M.G. you'd be hard pressed to find one of their CD's that doesn't have at least 1 song written/co-written and most of those you will find that he produced/co-produced.

  • @NascarTigger13 yeah i know but the year this song came out it was the most played song on radio..hes doin pretty well off of this song alone...and i have to say he for sure one of the best songwriters ever

  • @huntingisforgirls BTW the best produced CD version I have ever heard for this song is JS's Gold Chrome Platinum & Steele (available on his website). I used to work for him prior to 2005. Best 3-4 hour shows you will ever see! When not given a time limit he plays straight through NO Breaks! He is an Outstanding entertainer, for as many shows as I have seen over the years ever one seems to be different & new. I'd say 95-98% of the time he doesn't use a play list like other artists.

  • This is jeffery's song he wrote about he's little boy who was killed in an atv accident. He sings the song with emotion (note the tears, and facial expressions) this is real music!

  • @l3ffemti Wikipedia is by no means an authority on the meaning of songs, but it says "Robson presented Steele with an unfinished track, and Steele decided to come up with lyrics to finish the track. Originally, he had wanted to write a song about the loss of his father, but instead went with a more universal theme of lost love." Where had you heard about the little boy and the atv accident, if you don't mind?

  • @jeff2235 he talks about it in his videos, just search for the song "what hurts the most" also CMT did an article about it, just google it.

  • @l3ffemti Just watched "What Hurts the Most- Rascal Flatts/songwriter Jeffrey Steele" video, (see member musicbusinessvideo) Jeffrey describes writing the song in 2000 in London as a tribute to his late father. ? ? ?

  • my brother and sister from Franklin,Tn. introduced me to Jeffery steele 3 yrs ago. He,s incredible!

    Hermosa Beach,CA

  • anyone know what happened to his son? =/

  • @annelala19 He was killed in an ATV accident, he was wearing a helmet, but got thrown from the ATV and fatally teared his Aorta

  • @IanHoopz Thats so awful =[

  • @annelala19 His son was killed in an ATV accident about 4 years ago..(i worked at the benefit concert for Alex over the summer, and got to hear jeffrey live..he is quite amazing:)..RIP Alex:)

  • @C41380 Thats awesome that you got to work for him! So sad when you hear about tragedys like that but I think music heals people when they can relate so by jeff writing and preforming these songs I think he's helping change the world for the better. Bless his soul =/

  • great singer songwriter wrote some great song for some great bands

  • Jeffrey is the king. I was there and I saw the magic and felt the goosebumps.

  • hes...OK.rascal flattts sounds better he almost sounds like gary levox but not tottaly

  • @superbutterflys13 how dare you...had he done this in a studio it would sound boat loads better.

  • @icet386 WHATEVER ALL I SAID WAS HE WAS OK NOT GREAT NOT TERIBALE I DIDN'T SAY I HATED HIM DIDN'T SAY I LOVED HIM JUST SIMPLY HE WAS OK AND NO IF HE HAD DONE IT IN A STUDIO IT WOOD NOT HAVE BEEN "BOAT LOADS BETTER" I DIDN'T COME ON HERE AND WIRITE HE NEEDS TO DIE AND GO TO HELL NO I'M AM NOT LIKE THAT BECAUSE I DIDN'T THINK THAT AND P.S AND EVERYBODY'S ALOWED TO SPEAK THERE MIND

  • @superbutterflys13 relax man, i wasnt belittling you. how are you going to respond like that to a simple statement that in no way was meant to be negative or argumentative.

    ps its would....not wood

  • @icet386 i know its not wood it sure sounded negative every1 needs to think who's on the other end for once

  • Great song - Jeff is an awesome writer AND performer!

  • the audio here is very tinny-- I have heard Jeffrey live and he has a very good voice -- he has been a front man -- he has CDs out -- great range of songs. This sounds like it was recorded w wax paper and a comb. Songwriters deserve royalties fm Yt.

  • love every song this man does! great songwriter!

  • All three of the versions/covers (rascall flatts & cascada) are great. They all have their own, original interpretations of the song. People need to stop being upset or angry just because they do not like one of the versions of the song.

  • @bigsissy13

There is also a cover of this song done by Boyce Avenue. Though, I personally prefer this one, it is the best one there is, in my opinion.

  • wow hes WAYYYYYYYYY better than me singing!

  • well maybe that's because he's a professional... don't you think?

  • good song

  • Oh, I love him!!

  • This is a great song--Steele's a great songwriter. If only Steele had been able to record and release this one as a single instead of Rascal Flatts...I can't stand Rascal Flatts!

It's also great to see that someone who makes a living off of songwriting is a very good guitarist as well!

  • you cant touch a performance by the person that wrote the song, we live this stuff!!!!!

  • i agree

  • pro

  • very passionate. 1st video i have seen of mr. steele . i will look at some others & learn a little about him

  • ...

  • fucking cascada......................

  • I like her version sometimes but I agree, she kind of messed up this passionate song and made it into a disco thing...

  • yeah i know like i agree totally. who the hell put thumbs down to my comment? haha what the hell

  • Weird trivia, he actually wrote this song before he lost his son, actually about 6 years before.

  • jeffery steele, the most underrated talants in country music. Hitmen forever!

  • jeffrey does sing great though i just love rascal flatts though gary levox sing this song spot on jeffrey is a great writer must love 2 jeffrey steele and rascal flatts keep doing your thing

  • rascal flatts sings it way better sorry

  • yeah, well this guy wrote it and gets all the royalty checks.

  • yup

  • I thought my boy Derek Cate had the best version till I recently saw J.S..... rascal faggs cant sing this @ all....

  • no one touches this version!!! not even close

  • song was recorded before the accident..:( RIP ALEX

  • Correction

Steve Robson is from New Castle England

Jeffrey is from Los Angeles Ca USA

I love My Wish and These Days and Here also recorded by RF

  • ..yo' Boy Wonder that's 'Newcastle' = believe a Brit!

    ;)

(They have funny accents from 'up North' haha!)

+ nice 2 know U love all those other JS co-writes recorded by RFs, 2 = U MUST be his BIGGEST fan bar none....cackle cluck!!!

  • i just copy paste these 2 comments from wikipedia

  • Later that year, country pop group Rascal Flatts covered the song as well, releasing it as the first single from their 2006 album Me and My Gang, topping the U.S country and adult contemporary charts with it in 2006. German band Cascada later had international chart success with the song in 2007.

  • What Hurts the Most" is the title of a song written by American songwriters Jeffrey Steele and Steve Robson. Initially recorded by country music artist Mark Wills in 2003 on his album And the Crowd Goes Wild, it was covered by Bellefire a year later. The first version to be released as a single was by pop singer Jo O'Meara in 2005, from the album Relentless.

  • i like CASCADA'S version better : )

    then him and rascal flats.

  • I think I like Jeffrey Steele's voice more, it's a bit deeper, I like that

  • i seriously think

him & rascal flatts sound the same

buh he kinda has more emotion(:

  • You can argue a lot of the emotion is coming from the fact this was played just after the loss of his 13 yr old son... I would bet a large sum he NEVER imagined when he wrote this song, that he would be living it himself with the death of the last person on earth he would have ever expected.

  • And just so you ditzy sherlocks know, this song was recorded FOUR times before Rascal Flatts got a hold of it. Where did it go those FOUR times? Nowhere, that's what I thought. That's all I have to say.

  • It's a brilliant song no matter who sings it. Obviously, you're the one that doesn't know jackshit about English or music, but that's obvious. The Rascal Flatts version is the ONLY version that got the song noticed, moron. No, dope - it's RF that made it what it is today. It doesn't matter what Steele's album was for, the fact of the matter is the song would be nothing if it weren't for RF no amount of your mangled English will change that. #1 songs he's written he hasn't SANG.

  • Emotion is objective obviously. EVERYONE has lost a loved one, so that hasn't anything to do with it. Anyone who thinks this motha can sing needs to get their ears checked. Screaming out of tune isn't singing, no matter how Garth Brooks, or Kenny Chesney try to make it so. This dude completely butchers his own song. ALL genres of music tell stories hence why country artists rip other genres, you just don't get the point to music because you're a moron. The guy's a songWRITER: HE CAN'T SING.

  • soul416, you are whacked. Have you heard the Flatts singer acoustic and live on Youtube? He would fall flat on his face! You can't judge studio vrs. live, no way no how. There are a lot of amazing Nashville singers who won't get the hype. It's money, marketing and some talent. J. Steele is one of the most talented singer songwriters ever. I heard Steele in Niagra with a great sound system and piano and he blew away R. Flatts with HIS song.

  • ..hmmm well; just setting the emotional context aside (btw i'm not sure whether this video was recorded AFTER the death of the songwriter's son but he's said it was originally written in memory of his father, so the vibe of it IS loss/grief), i agree w/shieldwriter that the difference between a rough-recorded video of an acoustic version is vastly different than a full-blown pro studio 1 & can hardly be compared...not sayin' JS is blessed w/the BEST voice in the biz BUT he brings mo' depth, yes!

  • Totally agree. No question that the RF influence brought this song to the forefront of the public's attention, but their versions of JS's songs sound pretty benign to me. So, it's a team effort, yes? RF has the audience because they know how to select quality material - and JS knows how to write a fantastic tune (eg These Days, Gone, Something to Be Proud Of, etc)

  • Definitely a team effort, yes!...only thing i'd quibble over is the REASON RFs has their audience is not only b/c of their personal appeal (as people, & performers...which, as U seem 2 imply in yr own case, is frankly lost on me BUT 'horses 4 courses', as they say!!), but b/c of their PR 'machine' = the mechanisms of Fame, as supplied by a major label record contract which is what makes them available 2 such a wide audience, & their CD readily available 2 millions @ various retail outlets, etc.

  • ...oh yeah P.S. - the song itself (love it or h8 it LOL!) was a hit b/c it reson8s w/something millions of folks FEEL..PLUS it was released by a major, top-selling band w/many millions of fans, who eagerly await receipt of EVERY new song they release...but those fans r there not JUST b/c RFs is da bomb haha (?!) but b/c they got a major record contract which PUSHED their 'product' & put them in the public eye & GOT them those fans in the 1st place - can U say 'duh'?!

    ;)

    ...whereas JS is obscure.

  • I like this song and all of the remixes. Just because all those songs convey the same meaningful lyrics. THis Guy You can telll that he is More emotionally attached to this song, cause he wrote it.

But again i like all the remixes

  • yeah his "emotional content" and heartfelt singing this song, it makes it so much better than the other performers doing this song, This is a great song and preformed brilliantly!

  • yeh and in the middle of him writing the song he lost his teenage son so of course that would make it more emotional for him too

  • the emotion he conveys in his singing is amazing.

i'm not a country fan, but this is a very beautiful performance...maybe enough to turn me into a fan. haha.

  • Im not a country fan at all. But I've always respected it because its one of the very few genres of music that storys are still being told, stories that everyone can relate to. He exhibits so much feeling in this performance. I love love love this song. Thank you Mr. Steele.

  • Jeffrey Steele originally wrote this song... Its amazing. Rascal Flatts has the habit of taking brilliant songs and making them mainstream. For the people who say Steele sucks all I have to say is they dont know jack shit. They need to give credit where credit is due, sure its easy to say Rascal Flatts version is catchy but its Steeles genius that makes this song what it is today. Steeles album was in honor of his sons passing.

  • jeffrey steele is awesome.people who says he sucks must not enjoy #1 songs he has written and all of the other great songs.

  • im not rlly a country fan, but i like this very much out of the 3 versions :]

  • he is the best. my favorite artist by far. i heard him once and now im addicted. i jsut wich he had real music videos. COME BACK TO WOODSTOCK!

  • i think he sings good great job jeffrey

  • He makes the song totally different... I heard Rascal Flatts version first... But he impressed me... the song it's way emotional when he sings it... I think it's because he wrote it... But great song, great singer!!!

  • Jeffrey Steele has been around for quite awhile. Part of the band Boy Howdy. Damn good song, in my opinion he sings it better then Rascal Flatts, and Mark Wills who had recorded this about 3 years before Rascal Flatts did.

  • @DieHardCountry They may have recorded it but he is the composer of the song. Perhaps that is why he does it better than those other bands.

  • Dam...I like this better than the rascal flatts version

    Honestly.

  • ..yeah well obviously w/a UTube moniker like this your maturity level is only capbable of appreciating Taylor Swift...who makes me puke LOL!!!! so yeah sure thang U WOULD think JS sucks it figures...so that's ok go watch grass grow U know that's all good in my book just keep that wannabe Tim McGraw Lolita away from folks like me who actually APPRECIATE good music...

    !!!

    ;)

  • lol, taylorswiftdancer101, he wrote this song, so I think he has some right to sing it, and rascall flatts sings the best version of this song, but his is still amazing

  • amazinggg =] i lovee you jeffrey steele

  • i think youre the one with the bad hearing

  • cascada...are you serious...!!? no really...are you kidding? How old are you? You have a lot of growing up to do child!

  • i love this so much

  • god bless jeffery steele, thank yinz for sharing yins gift dudeman.

    bubbaskynyrd615

  • good lord they're like engraved in stone.. ya can't rid them...

that is SO UNFAIR!!!!!!!!!! they're like whited out so NOONE else can say thumbs up!!

    what's up utube..

no wonder I delete my profiles here!!!!

  • well I tried to get rid of those buggers.. damn.. they're still there... what's a girl to do now??? or what's a hen to do should I say??

  • ...only 1 thing for any hen in her right head 2 do....

    CACKLE!!!

(...and THEN lay a golden egg!!)

  • I got rid of those minus 1's for ya eve... don't worry.. you're more than a minus anything..

    lol!!!

  • ...thanx (O good have i got myself a FAN or what??!)

    ;)

  • the song didnt mean anything to me until i saw Jeffrey sing it himself

He made it into a piece of art

    Hes amazing

  • Do U know he's coming 2 Canada 2 do some shows in the Fall? Check his website for details b/c it sounds like U would really love 2 see/hear him play in person!

  • ...so who's marking my remarks as 'spam' LOL??!!

    As IF....?!

How silly of someone - whoever they are; it doesn't seem 2 matter WHAT i say, they 'spam' me indiscriminately, regardless of content of comment - guess i've got a Secret UTube Enemy LOL!!!

    ;)

  • I want to deicated[sp?] this to his son which is my ex boyfriend Alex LeVasseur. We miss you so much and love you no matter what!I wish you werent driving that car!I miss you baby you were the best boyfriend!

  • isn't it funny how the original version isn't as big as the remakes? i really like this, they should make a real video with jeff steele. so it'd have better sound qualities and everything. i think a song always has more feelings in it if it's sang by the writer..

  • - not really; b/c this is a 'bare' = no-frills acoustic version, while the remakes are all produced to the max in fancy studios with all the bells & whistles LOL!

    ;)

Acoustic music as an appeal of it's own...which only ever 'works' if the performer is really REALLY good (trust me on this; as a veteran of countless Open Mic nights, i KNOW!!). Sorry to say UR remark that a song 'always' has 'more feelings' when sung by the writer is simply not so: Great SINGERS sing songs BEST.

  • His version is electric, too. This is just an unplugged performance.

  • Ha-ha yeah OK nice 'double entendre' on the word 'electric'....

    ;)

Just sayin' acoustic & 'plugged in' performances are 'different beasts'...but JS does 'em BOTH well!! Tho' the FIRST time i saw/heard him play was acoustic & somehow, either he was way off...or the stars weren't aligned right that night or whatever = i 100% hated it!!! So i had 2 come back again later 2 C what all the fuss was about, didn't i?!! ...way 2 get HOOKED after THAT i was a 'goner' hahaha the joke's on moi!!!

    ;)

    ;)

  • i love jeffrey's version !!!

  • I do, 2 - b/c of the way Jeffrey sings and performs it = takes the song to a whole other level...(tho' i wish one day he will be able to move on from this song, personally - we've got so many great versions on video of him singing it now, i feel the world owes him NUTHIN' so far as this song is concerned...& i hope it's NOT the song JS is remembered for!!!! Hope he's remembered in years 2 come for a song he hasn't written yet - a song full of happiness & hope & the joy of life/living, and love.

  • This is like a religious experience. It ranks up there with Jeff Buckley and Hallelujan.

  • I can totally relate to that!

  • Hmmm..i 'get' what you mean about the 'religious experience' - but that's b/c JS is performing his song to which he has a very deep and personal association of someone (actually, two people) very dear to him, who are now in the realm of the departed...but 'Hallelujah' is a completely different kind of song (and BTW Jeff Buckley didn't write it - he 'only' interpreted it so powerfully in such a way as to make it SOUND completely personal, & so made it his own...which is what great singers DO!)

    ;)

  • You can hear the pain in his voice when he sings this, it's so sad :[

    But it's such a great song :]

  • i love cascadas version

  • man i just DETEST the Cascada version....

    !!

    'Different strokes for different folks'!

    ;)

  • this song is def alt/rock.. the more I hear it;.. the more It think tortured artist... it's a great track!!

I really prefer alt/rock music.. it's my fav!!!

  • J.S., the Tortured Artist?....

...y'mean, the same guy who wrote 'Shotglass', 'Drunk Girl' and 'Hell, Yeah'?!?

    ;)

  • This is definitely alt rock.. I listen to alot of alt rock..this completely fits the bill... and I'm almost positive I've heard this on mtv.. they wouldn't play it there if it wasn't 'market'. Alt/rock.. the chorus esp... in my opinion alt/rock...

it's a VERY painful lyric... heck yeah!!!

that's the appeal.. the way Jeff did it.. it's totally alt/rock!!

not the RF's version.. of course never knew them.. I only know this track btw JS did it... I heard it first maybe on a JS podcast, then here

  • yeah, he's no augustana.. no... but the music is def... alt/rock..

god yeah... that soaring alt/rock chorus.. definitely... I mean I heard it and immediately thought alt/rock!!!

I think JS has all kinds of stuff going on with his music.. lots of directions really.. theres country rock, rock, and YES alt/rock.. MODERN!!! YES!!! IT IS!

  • His version of this recorded at 3rd & Lindsay is both much more recent, and frankly much better, i think.

Personally, i think the dude needs to stop performing it because it's just getting more heartrending - and surely, harder to perform? - with each rendition....but perhaps it's a kind of catharsis, too?

(Here's hoping, anyway...here's to the healing power of songs!)

  • I'm pretty sure I heard the Jeffrey Steele version of it.. at the end of an episode... not this season.. must be second season.. the minute I heard that chorus, it was familiar... I believe it was on an episode there.. i'd have to backtrack the episodes I have to find out... it was HIS rendition of it.. not RF's.. now way.. it was rock all the way!!

  • correct me I'm wrong here Eve, but I think the first time I heard this version, it was on MTV... on the hit show 'the hills'... think I heard it there.. at the end of an episode... that's where I heard the soaring chorus.. it's like alt rock.. it's great!

  • Oh - I'm not the expert on this, so I don't know....the first time I heard it was about three years ago, during his show in Cinncinatti, where he announced to his audience before performing it that he had 'recently put this one back in the repertoire after retiring it for a few years' (it had already had a chequered history even at that point and in total took i think he said about 8 years to become his biggest hit to date!!!) -

  • After the show he asked me which of his songs I liked (he does that sometimes,'finger-on-the-pulse' style), and I pointed out about three, including that one...but in actual fact, I only really liked it BECAUSE of HIS rendition of it, which was/is so heartfelt...truth is, I'm not so crazy about the song itself - as i found out when RFs recorded it and I heard it 1000 times! It may be that they used it on 'The Hills'; his website staff would know, if you're curious; send 'em an email and ask!

    ;)

  • I agree his songs are sung better by HIM!... he's an artist!!!!

  • I think his songs are much better when he does them. They have more emotion than glam country.

  • Hmmm....y'know, a song is a song is a song...as shows like 'American idol' show, it comes down to the gift of the individual performer to 'bring it to life' - and 'bringing the emotion' of a song is THE key ingredient which makes the difference between, say, Fantasia and Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and The Spice Girls...or in this case, J.S. and Rascal Flatts!!!

    ;)

Though I agree with you that his songs sound much better when he performs them.

  • yeah, if I ever make it down to that part of the country, or he ever makes it up here, I'd see him play...

I bought his CD from his site, I think it was the one at the very top.. not sure if it's his new one...

  • Well apparently, there are rumours of a tour...

    !

  • I honestly think he's phenomenal.. as a performer.. and his songs are drop dead awesome..!! and I listen to a lot of music on the scene today.... not just the past.. I'm from the 70's 80's rock n roll singers/songwriters, rock band generations... I just love this music...

  • You're right - he IS a phenomenal performer; you must make a date with one of his live shows sometime, if you love these videos of J.S., you'll be blown away by the 'real deal'!! However, what he's KNOWN for is his songwriting. That's the basis of his career right now. In my opinion, he has a 'second career' coming up on the horizon (potentially, anyway!) as a kind of Bruce-Springsteen-meets -Garth-Brooks-type-thang...plus his latest CD reveals a really surprising romantic side, too - cool!!!

  • well if anyone can elevate it, he can. He's a very special talent. I know Jeff and I have seen him perform many many times and he ALWAYS brings it...

  • Great thread you folks have going about Jeffrey Steele. Yes, the Rascal Flatts version hadn't blown up yet. But Jeffrey brings this passion to everything he does. I'm cringing a little that he is a judge on this summer's nashville star talent show hosted by Billy Ray Cyrus. Not that he won't shine, he will. But it's another one of those shows that's all about fad and gimmick and not ALL ABOUT great music. That's my impression anyway. People will meet Jeffrey, and not see his depth, as you do ;(.

  • Y'see, in my view, you're overlooking the beauty of this; JS will ELEVATE the format of this one-more-fad/gimmick-vehicle-to-grease-the-blah-wheels-of-mediocre-commercial-country music in some subtle yet significant way...give him a chance to figure out how, but I'll bet you good money he WILL!

    ;)

Sure, his songs ARE part of the slick 'n gloss of the mostly shallow scene fed to mass audiences via radio & TV - but 'Get involved and make a difference' - y'know? 'Easy does it' - why stay obscure?!

  • Also, recently I saw Bret Michaels on that "Don't Forget the Lyrics" show or whatever it's called. Bret is in many ways a contemporary of Jeffrey and that came off too lame for me. But I do have to say that I have never seen Jeff NOT wow his audience.

  • Yeah but 'scuse me, the former lead singer of 'Poison' is at least 100 times more naff than that of 'Boy Howdy' (though BOTH bands deserve some sort of prize for 'naff names'!!)

    ;)

(- but then I'm guilty of having once briefly headed up a band called 'The Beat Demons'...puleeze!! Paraphrasing Shakespeare's Juliet, 'What's in a name? - a rose by any other smells as sweet...' or sounds as good or as bad as the people using that name!). And I don't believe Bret could elevate yeast - sorry!

  • yeah, I just don't get how this guy hasn't made it before this.. we have a youth obscessed shallow society that doesn't place enough emphasis on the quality of music.. forget the beauty bs....

I'm really a big fan of the songwriter/singer.. the guy who performs his own music.. you get the emotion there... these cover plastic posers are just plastic imposters... for the labels.. and fools fall for it...

  • Hey Jessica... chill out... this guy WROTE the song. I think he deserves just a "little" respect.

  • okay how many versions are there of this song, thers cascada, rascal flatts, jo something i dont remember, mark wills or something like that then this guy.

  • perfecto

  • why aren't you an artist???

    it puzzles me???

    you're awesome!

  • Jeffrey Steele>Cascada

  • Just amazing

    xx

  • this guy is amazing!

  • Does Anyone know where to get a copy of Jeffrey singing "Friend"...he wrote it and Van Zant sings it. I heard him play it on The Hitman show on CMT and it was amazing.

  • I SAw Jeff last night ans as ALWAYS he was absoli=utely amazing,,,,Love this man to the end...Nicest person you;ll ever meet also...If you havent seen him go to his website and he;s playing some really great gigs that are very near and dear to his heart,,,,and...HE ROCKS

  • Where can i get this version?
