Simpy put - very well done... It cleared up a few vagueries I had. What is source of the tab? The tab for this song in "Joe Satriani Anthology" isn't as complete (or correct) as the tab you display.

You mean around 0:52? That is just an artificial harmonic created on two strings; the D string (6th fret) and the G string (7th fret) in one stroke

You shouldn't pull off everywhere in the intro, there are some spots where he doesn't, it just sounds like it because of the rhythm behind it.

You are an excellent player and a very good teacher, well done, not note for note from the album but hey not even Satch never played it the same twice : if i may offer some feedback, tapping sequence at the end you play great and correct at full speed but when u slow it down it comes out to many notes and it appears you have 24 notes per pattern which would come out as sextuplets per measure buts its not supposed to be so, i believe it is more of a 6 - 6 - 4 pattern so its still 1/16 notes

Yes I know about the tapping. I played it that way so it's easier to understand the notes to play and how to hammer on and pull off. When you know the notes to play it's easy to play it correctly on tempo.

How do you get that sound at 1:09 ???

It's an artificial harmonic I play at two strings at the same time. In the tabs you can see it's an AH at the g-string 7th fret, which is the original. I also play an AH at the d-string 6th fret. So 6th AND 7th fret on the same time.

Doing AH's on 2 strings will create even more overtones.

I finally got my hands on satchurator a time machine delay pedal and I just got the JSX combo 212 amp. Now I was wondering what were the settings you used for the satchurator and the time machine? I am having a bit of a difficult time setting up the time machine since it is a tube amp but my friend said it would be a good idea to hook it up into the effects input at the back. So far I have a lil more bass then treble setup and I want the delay effect if possible. TY :)

If you have the JSX combo I'd put the delay in the effect loop. You can try the following settings:

- All knobs at 10/11 o'clock

- first 2 knobs at 10/11 o'clock, the last 2 knobs at 1/2 o'clock

- first and last knob at 12 o'clock and the 2nd knob at 500 ms, and the 3rd knob at 2/3 o'clock

The satchurator at:

Full, between 9&10 o'clock and 1 o'clock (the 3 knobs)

I have to give you credit guitarextremist, a very well presented lesson and keeping in line with the substance and "gist' of the tune. I'm sure this will help alot of budding guitarists have tons of fun playing this, as well as getting them familiar with the structure of blues shuffles and boogies. Hats Off to Ya!!!

The TAB at 0:55 is wrong. It's missing notes and does not match the music being played.

Yes, some open notes shown are not supposed to be played, and at 1:01 it's:

a|  5 dont strum this but rake of sweep it with downstroke and upstroke the open b.

I dont know... :-S it's been a while since I start learning this song. I think a day to learn the song, or remember the notes of the song and be able to play it decend. A few more days to play it very good ,and another more days to master it note to note.

Most of the little mistakes are only one note different, and it depends on whether you play the live version or the original '87 version.

But one mistakes you should know about is at 1:07 where you should be playing:

Those are guitar tablature. Each line represents each guitar string. The upper line is the high e string, and the lowest line is the low E string. The numbers are the frets to be played.

Those are the fret numbers. 5 = hold 5th fret, 12= hold 12th fret, 0= open string etc.
