I know this is odd, but the dynamics between me and my boss were extremely similar to Dr. Cox and JD, the slight difference being that I never had a father. My boss was my first and only real father figure, and today was his last day at my company. I hugged him for the first time in five years of knowing him. This scene perfectly summed up my feelings and made me laugh through my tears.
@morgantown1 Only the very last, 9th season sucks. Or in fact it doesn't 'suck', it's just nowhere near as good as the other ones. But as a true Scrubs fan, you'll still have to watch them I guess ... especially since JD still has some appearances, at least in the first few episodes.
@morgantown1 The 9th season isn't nearly as bad as people say. While no, it isn't the same by any means. It isn't BAD. Still a good show with some funny ass moments.
What many people probably don't know (or maybe they do) is Zach Braff's comment actually a reaction on something what happened off screen where the actress playing Sunny actually screwed up a line. Haha, typical Scrubs humor.
The show should have ended here. Season 9 should have been called something else. Even though it has Dr.Cox, Turk and JD (for 4 episodes) it was about other people. Scrubs was about JD's life so a show about someone else's life should be called something else, like Doctors in training or something.
LOVE IT! I don't count season 9 as a season, cause they based it on other people! =( They took out the best characters. This was the end, and a friken awesome ending
The first time i saw this episode i was sad but the second J.D. came up behind him i couldnt help but smile but then and it got me sad again but i started cracking up when J.D. said "Thank you God!... That was beautiful".
part of me kinda wishes that jd wasn't so (not sure how to put it) "goofy" when he reacts towards dr. cox's remark about him. I would've loved it if he was just as serious as dr. cox, but still GREAT SHOW. GREAT FINALE!!
what I hate the most about season 9 is that JD worked his butt for 8seasons to hear these word and then in season 9 cox chooses a random guy and tells him that he likes him and he is his new mentee
@mofu11281 That's the point though - by getting Dr. Cox to (occasionally and grudgingly) take down his defensive wall, JD effectively made him a better teacher, in that he was willing to give positive reinforcement as well as his usual sarcastic asides - this gets turned around in season 9 when JD has to learn to accept that Cox will now be willing to mentor others in the same way.
This part, and when he walks past everyone, who ever appeared in Scrubs, seeing his future afterwards, were the only things, that ever made my cry in my entire adult life so far... Because something so beautiful and funny as Scrubs ended, leaving myself with a bit scar on my consciounes... thank you for creating something this wonderful world...!
this speech if you were an avid follower of scrubs rivaled the speeches of some of the greatest films i have seen for example, gladiator, armageddon n many more, i loved it
it would have been better if he wouldent say anything to cox and just walk away happy :P if you se it the rigth wey you think its good if not you se it wrong

This is by far the FUNNIEST moment of Scrubs ever.
Not the actualy speech, but just Dr Cox's face at the end of it, and how through all 8 seasons JD had wanted him to say that. Perfect.
