now she isn't alone anymore... Maybe she swimm now with kyu & asuka in the sea of heaven! but I think so bad isn't it there, because they have so many orcas, and all live and didn't try to kill then thenself, so I know.. maybe it's small, but not to bad vor then.
I do agree, that the tanks are small, but at least all those little Japan kids, they will grow up to one day, care for the oceans, and will disagree with dolphin slaughter, and captureing Orcas. A marine park in Japna would teach others that the ocean is an amazing place and will someday care for it!
Though, obviously, THERE ARE MUCH better ways to learn respect for ocean animals! You can see them in the wild on whale watching trips, go to an IMAX theater or movie theater and see a show on them, read about them in books or use interactive CD-ROMs. These ways do not involve bruatally capturing animals,
Oh boo hoo. Seeing them in captivity is not bad at all. Captivity you get more upclose with the animals. Wild orcas shouldnt have to be bothered by us humans and have the whale watching boats pollute the ocean. The most you can see in a whale watching trip is a whales dorsal. -from a mile away. :/ Kids will get bored. The only thing entertaining them is maybe the wind and the boats slow speed. In captvity, they can see orcas upclose at shamu close up as educators tell them about the whales.
Orca captivity today is much better than it was back in the 60's & 70's.
Out of 42 captive orcas, only 13 were taken from the wild. And the youngest wild whale, Kshamenk has no chance in the wild. Unless someone is willing to spend 5 million dollars on him. That money is better off going to MFA. Because common sence...factory farms are much worse than orca captivity. And, Kshamenk is a transient and hes been living off of fish for 16 years. The best for him would be to send him to Nagoya aq
That is very true. It's not like they live in an empty tank their whole life. I'm pretty sure they have a more realistic living space for them as well.
@RingneckDoveFan I would be so happy if they would move him to Nagoya but thats kinda a HUGE move for him....even SeaWorld would be nice, anywhere besides where he is...
Moving an older orca isn't the best thing to do. It's easier to have a younger animal adapt than an older. Besides, a killer whale his age has never been moved before. It's just not safe, and he wouldn't like it. Leaving the orcas, and trainers he knows..just to start life all over again. Younger animals adapt better.
I don't think the Japanese should have killer whales...they would most likely just eat them or slaughter the poor things...THEY EAT EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE OCEAN!
Not really. If you understand what the show is saying, its not very educational at all. The "Japanese" or as you call them "Japans" won't fall in love with these animals just 'cause they see them in some theme park. They may still grow up to slaughter and hunt the whales...

Exactly. It's people like you, that run marine parks and train animals. They/you don't care about educating people.
I beg to differ. You can show a person a whale but that doesn't mean they are going to go home & google whales for hours on end to learn more about them - because if they did, chances are they would find out that Sea World and other marine parks have caught and contributed to the deaths of hundreds of these animals in the past years =/
Marine parks do enough educating :) Im not the one who cares, the people who visit the parks who are being educated.
Ok, first of all, people aren't going to be looking up into on whales for hours. Maybe a couple of minutes or so.
And the only way people will learn about marine park deaths is if they visit one of your poorly researched, opinion based sites. :/ so..um, idk...oh, wait I do, some people can't get their asses out of the past! >:D
Its people like me? I don't run marine parks. Your more stupid than I thought. I mean I could care less about the educating because I already know everything on whales. When I 1st saw a killer whale in 1999 and again in 2006 just the sight of the whale amazed me. So I decided to learn more about them, since Believe doesnt tell you any info on the whales. But all of SW's shows have always been educational. Its Shamu Rocks and Believe, they are the ONLY show is SW history that isent educational.

Even though it looks like the orcas are having fun, that may not be true. The orcas probably miss their families in the wild. Most of Kamagowa's orcas were indeed captured-destined to never see their mother's or the ocean again.Orcas in captivity live on average 40-50 years less than they do in the wild and that's a shame!
Then move then to SeaWorld where they would be in larger tanks. Killer whales live to be 35-45 years in the wild which is the same lifespan in dolphins Peepchick.
Okay so maybe Kamagowa's tanks are small although they get great care I think that they should be at SeaWorld. Like Bingo, Stella, Lovely, Lara, and Ran II can live at SeaWorld San Diego and Oscar can live at SeaWorld Orlando.
Captivitiy for Orcas is very sad an cruel, heartbreaking;((((

Bingo is different, he is one of the biggest whales in captivity and he does waterworks. Not many adult males do water works

A killer whale is the strongest and cruelest animal in the sea, but they play with human.
It's very rare case, that a killer whale makes people injured.
They understand that human is not food.
Since human is thin, he does not look delicious.

Who cares about education? People seeing a whale jump will amaze them enough to research info on the whales all thier own.

Um, actually orcas can live longer than dolphins.
But yeah, I think (I guess) SeaWorld Kamagowa's orcas would be better off at SeaWorld CA or something. Its sad to see Bingo in that tiny cup, right?
