besides the first two and the latest I would get other songs as singles if they are released digitally, the instrumental "Babaji"and "I'm the ligth" which has some great sitar, I like "piece of mind" which features a different sound from them. "west coast child of sunshine" features some great guitar licks.
i don't think there trying to be metal, and i think they are and allways will be phycadelic/acid rock, but i do think they are at least partly responsible for the creation of metal
To understand how really cool Blue Cheer is, you have to be 14 years old and it's 1967. You put Summertime Blues on the 45 turntable for the first time. And, you can't imagine, it's like the coolest thing you have ever heard or could ever experienced. Need more bands pursuing the psychedelic genre today.
Please tell me why someone hasn't uploaded 'I'M THE LIGHT ' by blue cheer on here,.?? a great song,..!! I saw it briefly a while back,...a fantastic song,..!!
Was the "I'm the Light" a studio recording that was uploaded? YouTube with Google are now pulling video's off the web loaded from CD's. The record companies have put a tracking code in that YouTube can detect. Live sound recordings can't be detected such as the one above or I'm sure they would pull this video off the air due to copyright issues.
Blue Cheer is not for heavy metal teens. This is for old-time rockers and hard-blues fans; Even I'm sure that guys don't like most of Zeppelin songs or first albums of Sabbath... but they can't say that!!
Judas, Dio, Metallica, Iron Maiden, etc don't have nothing in common with Blue Cheer... your're on the wrong video children.
Sure they sound more metal now and I prefer them on late sixties but the differences in structure, guitar style, rithym.... with heavy metal and moderm metal are obvious. If you want, watch at Rockpalast website a 2008 Blue Cheer concert and tell me if that's heavy metal.
Amen to what roksancastle said. On another note, yeah, their vocals ain't what Morrison's were when he was 26, but for 60 yr. olds and still playing this kind of music, they do pretty good. You really can't make judgement on em until you've heard their stuff from 68 - 69 while in their prime. Outsideinside is a good example. They weren't trying to be Hendrix, Morrison, or Cream. They pioneered their own unique style & sound & it was powerful.
The vocal work is pretty bad, but these guys, depending on who's point of view you agree with, were the founder's of the metal movement. I don't think they were metal in the truest sense, but I think their style contributed heavily to the beginning of that particular genre of music. (Really prefer Morrison's vocals on this tune).
He interrupts the song to say, "You all got to take care of each other....You guys have to take care of one another, 'cus you're all you've got. You ain't got nothin' else -- I want to remind you of that." You White guys and gals certainly haven't got a government that cares about you. White Nationalism's time is now. No war in Iraq! No billion $ bailout for banks!

BC just seem to be a few old geezers that play these insignificant clubs (with insignificant songs)for one of 2 reasons: 1) they are trying to hold onto their "glory days" of youth, and don't care how pathetic they look now, or 2) they are just too old to start a more lucrative normal career. It's sad, but there comes a time when old fart musicians should go away gracefully, and not try to be "relevent" when nobody is really listening. Leave with dignity - don't be kicked out the door!
Blue cheer isnt bad, not as good as mountain or some of those other early hard psychadelic early metal bands but not awful. This isn't the highlight of their touring career though, blah.
dude this is them like 40 years later. they formed in the 60s and are considered the first real heavy metal band. so don't think they suck, this is them years and years later.
nah man i went deep in youtube and watched all their ols stuff to they were horrible always out of tune and always so wasted they couldnt play well. I bet they had guys many times in the audience that might have signed them to a contract but they were always so high and playin so bad they ruined it for themselves..seriously they never made it for a reason. they stink or i would have at least heard of them like uriah heap, foghat, molly hatchet lesser groups wwo were great.
have you heard summertime blues by them? it's considered the first heavy metal track ever and one of the greatest covers of all time. then again those are opinions by music experts but it comes down to personal opinion.
ya i heard the who do it.....nuff said, this band sucks for a reason. They never made it because of the over-all OPINION of a majority of people....as far as the first heavy metal track ill go with earth back in the late 1960's, you may have heard of them they changed their name in 1970 to black sabbath
ya..........i hate the songs......the wizard, warning, behind the wall of sleep, into the void, lord of this world, cornucopia, wheels of cofusion, n.i.b, st. vitus dance, planet caravan, the straightener, after forever....to name a few off the top of my head.....their 4th album was titled volume 4...a work of art...get a clue clown.....
Well cholulasaucehot (yes it is), the acutal fans of BC back in their day were like fans of Sabbath. From 1970 on, there was no real "middle ground" with Sabbath and there sure as HELL was no "middle ground" with these guys back in '68! You either dug them 'cause they were so heavy, SOOOOO loud and NOT "sophisticated" or you just said, "Hey these guys ain't no Cream" and you went home! Talk to someone who saw these guys back then, they'll tell ya!

That's cool. I like Sabbath and Metallica, LOVE Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and Pink Floyd. One band you seriously need to check out is Sir Lord Baltimore, an early metal band from 1970-71 that released two albums on Mercury then disbanded. Blew my mind when I first heard 'em. They've got some of their songs here on You Tube, check out "Kingdom Come" or "Hard Rain Fallin." And you could check out "Sun Cycle" by BC if you want, you MIGHT like that one. You just might.
Did somebody take away your rubber duckie? Was it per chance Duck McDonald? But it's probably because he has $200.00 a night gig while you are pumping gas for a living.
Spoke to Duck after the gig yesterday, didn't sound bitter at all. You on the other hand...
Sorry Efrasnel, I guess you haven't had to sit there and hear him drone on and on about Savoy Brown and "the way it used to be". God, after a while it makes you want to jump out a window.
Well OK, I don't hang around that long after gigs and I only spoke to Dickie for a long time. The conversation with Duck was way shorter on guitar effects...). And yes "the way it used to be" is someone else's nostalgia and one is bound to say "quit living in the past". My apologies if I sounded harsh earlier.
