  • Heh... that thing is just frightening. LOL

  • I was wondering if kriegar is a good brand of straight razor. Any info will help thanks.

  • GEO u shoulda added an explosion effect at 3:16. EPIC TOSS!!

  • @AGURRIERI

It was between that and the window breaking....

The window won! er' I mean, lost.....

    Geo

  • @MrControl735

    Thanks Mr Freeze!

    G.

  • 3:14 to 3:18 NOOOOOOOOOO, WTF??!! you are crazy, hahahahha, nice moment dude

  • @djsansa

    Crazy???

    It slipped......

    LOL!!!!

    G.

  • YES!

    To both actually.

If I'm in a hurry, I go right to the face with the lather.

If I want to take my time and really enjoy some warm lather, I use a bowl.

    Geo.

  • LOL!

You must be referring to the " Epic" (as one person called it) toss of the multi blade disposable....

    Thanks!

    Geo.

  • Haha, us Italians know how to entertain and cut right down to the chase all in one shot. My hat goes off to you Geo. Keep it up my man!

  • @chrishasaclue

    Thanks Goombah!

    Ciao!

    Geo.

  • One of the coolest videos I have seen man! I love your channel, keep up the great work. I just recently started straight blade shaving, it's awesome! Thanks for the tips.

  • @Aviatsionne

    WOW!

    Thanks very much!

Glad you like the vids, you keep watching and I'll keep putting it out there...

    Best,

    Geo.

  • @Aviatsionne

Hmmmm, How did I not see your excellent comment 3 months ago???

Must have slipped through the cracks, sorry about that...

Thanks very much and I'm glad you like the vidzzz!!!

    Geo.

  • crazy how they were making electrics back then i personally would never apply a vibrating single edged blade to my face nor do i see the porpose

  • @kantelier

    Definitely a dangerous proposition....

I don't see how the vibrating feature could do much to improve on a shave....

The sharp blade is key, beyond that, not sure it makes any difference.

    Geo.

  • I'll be honest, I'm scared of that thing. LOL Good luck Geo!

  • @Tillerman7

    Hah!

I'll make sure to wear my insulated rubber boots and Lineman's rubber gloves while I attempt to shave with it!

Electricity, shaving cream, and water, the Trilogy Of Terror!!!

Sounds like a bad horror movie!

    Best,

    Geo.

  • Amen Brother glad to see you this video posted up, and that sparks didn't fly out when you plugged it in lol. Looking forward to the next vid when you attempt the shave!!!

  • @deaconfrost6

    LOL!

I'm still a bit hesitant about that, as electricity, water, and shaving cream may not be the best of friends!

    Geo.

  • @bsmyn0708

No to the injury, Yes to the nurse and the hot towel!

Or, A cold towel and a hot nurse is OK too.

    Geo.

  • Could you do a review on a dovo ivory micarta im thinking of purchasing and would appreciate your opinion

  • @eckipsedahl

    Hmmmm,

The best I can do is the Dovo Black Full Hollow ground razor that I already have a video with.

Check that video out, it's in the same ballpark.

I don't own the ivory micarta.

    Best,

    Geo.

  • @bsmyn0708

    Hmmmm....

I think you just gave me an idea for a future video!

    Thanks.

    Geo.

  • That my friend was LEGENDARY, and i especially liked the toss !

  • @hayatdog93

    Thanks, very much my Brother!

    Geo.

  • @CoffeeAddict20

    LOL....

    Agreed!

    G.

  • @bsmyn0708

Rather than carry this vibrating gizmo and a Honda 55 lb generator, I'd probably just bring along a straight razor, sharpen it on a rock, and shave looking into the mirror of my Harley!

    That's roughing it!

    Geo.

  • Wow,I have never see one of these first electric DE shavers. I thought the gilette fusion power was the first combination of wetshaving with electric shaving, but your video shows me I am wrong. I wish I had such razor in my collection! Very cool! Thanks for showing is your razor!

Take care and greeting from the Netherlands

    Danny

  • @dan1979geboren

    Hi Danny,

It just goes to show you, the more things change, the more they stay the same!

It's a nice little bit of 70-80 year old technology!

    Greetings from the US!

    Geo.

  • @CoffeeAddict20 You said it, boss.

  • Hi Geo

LOL! re: the unceremonious dumping of the Proglide!

I'm not too sure how well its gone down here in the UK since its launch earlier in the year. Certainly, quite a few places have been selling the razors dirt cheap as part of special offers to temp people to the dark side (the blades are still astonishingly expensive, however!)

Loved the video my friend. You obviously had a lot of fun making it.

    Take care

    David

  • @itsamathematicsthing

LOL, The highpoint of the video, is the common consensus, I think!

I heard they were giving the razors away for free in the US when they were originally introduced here.

Not a problem, as they make the loot on the comeback with the blades... and the batteries.

P&G owns Gillette and Duracell, so it's just a sweet combination of disposable items that really adds to their bottom line.

Ingenious concept and marketing strategy, right?

Yes, Definitely fun making this one!

    G.

  • LOLOL

    Love ya =%

  • @izaurralde

    Thanks Bro!

We Chi-Town Brothers gotta stick together!

    Represent!!!

    G.

  • is the safety razor shave less dangerous than the straight edge razor?

  • @h0opman31

    Not this one!!!!

    Just kidding... I think....

Yes, its called a Safety Razor because it utilizes a "Safety Bar" which reveals only a portion of the blade to contact your face...

As opposed to a Straight Razor, in that case it's just the blade VS your beard....

Concentration and caution are of utmost importance while wielding a Straight Razor!

Check out some of my other videos to see them in action...

    Geo.

  • @bsmyn0708

I think you could probably still use it without the 110V power source....

It does kind of sound like an electric carving knife or similar contraption.

Do they not make your Mach 3 anymore?

If not, you could probably find an online source for some blades if you were that fond of it...

You gotta go with what you know! and like, for that matter!

    Best,

    Geo.

  • That vibrating razor, I can see that being very popular with the Ladies. :-) especially when creating a brazillian in the bikini department! Have fun Girls.

  • @merthyrmafia

    Yes!

It is available for rental, if any of the ladies are interested! Lol....

I have the slogan already: "The Vibro-Shave Double Duty Razor"

Brazilian...... I get chills just thinking about it. :)

Another thing men have the good fortune of not having to worry about...

    Thanks!

    Geo.

  • GEO took the proglide challenge

  • @MrBawston

    Lol!!!

    And the Proglide lost.....

    Boo Hoo!!!

    Take care Mr. B!

    Geo.

  • i'm diggin that smooth jazz

whatever happened to WNUA 95.5 ??

  • @izaurralde

    Hah!!!

I'm not a super big jazz fan, but that one seemed to fit the bill.... and it's kind of growing on me, the more I hear it, the more I like it!

    WNUA?

    Your Chicago-ness is showing!!!

    Geo.

  • Nice! Can't wait for the shave with it!

  • @Anthonyevans81

    Lol!

Might take some "liquid courage" before I plug the beast in and take it for a test drive...

I'm definitely curious about what the shave might be like!

    Geo.

  • niiiiiiiiiiiice !!!

  • @flyingman1981

    Thaaaaaaanks!!!!!!!

    Geo.

  • damnit geo. i frickin love your videos. the sound affect is amazing. you should do more of that lol

  • @hotkeepr7

    Cool!

    Thanks for that.

I'm always trying to come up with something different to keep things interesting!

I'll try to incorporate more of that sort of thing!

The best part of it is/sound effect, or real?

    I'll never tell!

    Geo.

  • That is a very cool piece Geo. What benefit do you think it had by vibrating? I used a crappy vibrating gillette fushion before I switched to safety razors and i'll be dipped if I knew what that did for my face either.

  • @virtualsmitty

    Thanks Smitty,

I can only guess that the vibrating feature enables you to get further down into the whisker for a closer shave...

Then again, it could be no benefit whatsoever!

Except in the Fusion's case..... to sell more batteries!

    Take care,

    Geo.

  • Geez. Hiow funny. What broke in the bathroom when you tossed the Proglide?

  • @StringZ71

Let me just say that other members of the household are not very happy with me! Lol!

    G.

  • Hahahah! Yay for throwing away the Gilette Fusion.

I hope that vibroshave razor is safe to use. You're not gonna zap yourself and set your bandana on fire are yah?

  • @Shangas

    LOL!

I'm not woried about shaving with the razor or those blades, it's the 110 Volts behind it that causes me to think twice about it!

Bandana on Fire! I'm picturing an anime' scene from a cartoon!

    Pretty funny!

    Thanks,

    Geo.

  • Good God man be careful with that thing. Lol, sounds like your ready to go carve up a turkey or ham for the holidays. Later Geo, peace.

  • @SuperGatorfan1

    Thanks for mentioning that Gator,

The sound definitely reminded me of something and I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

Back in the day, we had an electric carving knife that sounded very similar to this beastly contraption.

    Take care,

    Geo.

  • Hey, nice, didn't know that this kind of razor has existed for so long. And the best part: when you threw away the 'modern' razor away. Very nice sound :)

  • @wizzie47

    Thanks Wiz!

Someone else made the comment, "The more things change, the more they stay the same!"

It definitely holds rings true in this case!

    Geo.

  • That was funny! Please tell me it was a sound effect when you tossed the 2011 razor.

  • @Baqsam99

Oh Man, I'm still cleaning up the broken glass! Lol!

    Geo.

  • I freaking love your videos!!!

  • @amiryachum

    Thanks A Lot My Friend!

I think you can tell that I enjoy making them....

Unfortunately, work interferes with my video making!........Or, is it the other way around?

    Hah!

    Take care!

    Geo.

  • Bloody hell lol! That is neat!!

    Take care

    Nick

  • @WolframandSpike

    Thanks Nick,

    Greatly appreciated!

    Geo.

  • Oh hells yeah, Al had the technology!

  • @countzeroads

    Referring to Capone...

In the movie the Untouchables, the opening scene shows Capone (DeNiro) laying back in the Barber's chair having a Straight Razor shave performed on him.... Nice!

That's probably the way he liked it......

Attempting to shave with this beast might have given him a scar on the other side of his face!

    Best to Tokyo Bro!

    Geo.

  • now a days, they keep the same design, except they remove the shave head......Sold in the finest adult stores..lol Man, It looked like u damn near sliced your fingers off loading that blade keeper....Great video by the way.

  • @jsj297

    LOL!!!

    You got that right Brother!

I'm glad you said (or wrote) what i was thinking.....

I can venture a guess and say that it might look a bit familiar to a few ladies who might keep something similar in their night stands....

I'm sure they aren't as loud as this beast though!

Thanks for putting a smile on my face with that one!

    Take care,

    Geo.

  • Thats old school man. haha.

  • @CoolXer0

    Most definitely!

    Unlike anything available today......

    Maybe that's a good thing!

    Geo.

  • that looks like a blood spiller to me lol

great video, you can see the pleasure of ownership

    james

  • @jamesfoote1966

You might be right my friend.....

Actually, I'm more concerned with the commingling of water, shaving, cream, electricity, and my face, than the razor and blade itself!

Don't wanna go out like that!!!

    Take care James.

    Geo.

  • Go caveman and shave with a sharp piece of flint and use crap you can find around the river to moisturize lol It would be really badass ^_^

  • @HumaninSeoul

    Absolutely,

I'm gonna go out and find some obsidian, (volcanic glass/rock) break off a piece and go to town....

    NOT!!!!

I might be crazy, but I'm not that crazy....

It would be interesting to watch, though.

Only if Dr. Gregory House were present, just in case! LOL!

    Take care,

    Geo.

  • Interesting contraption, lol. The more that things change, the more they stay the same...

  • @veejl

I guess it really was "State Of The Art" back in the 1930's and 1940's....

The noise it makes is a bit irritating, though.....

Still contemplating whether to shave with it or not....

    Geo.
