  • I find it very hard to record a clarinet so it sounds nicely. Do you have any tips on which type of microphone and what placement I should use, or any other tips? Maybe you could do a video of it. That'd be very interesting.

  • @Blizzard4242 Recording is always hard.

Rules I follow are set levels to avoid clipping, set levels manually never do auto recording. Use the best mics you can, make sure they're XLR types, use a high quality mixer with high quality electronic components. I like Ribbon mics with boosters. If you don't have XLR capability with your camera then get a good field mixer. I like Sound Devices MM-1 MixPre, using adapters to connect to camera. Either that or record separately and combine in post.

  • Tom, don't you think you might just be playing into the hands of those who might want you to disappear?

  • @bmcgar I'm relying on it.

  • AND it makes you sound like Marcellus, but only while your invisible. Tom that's all the evidence it takes to sell a $90 ligature and they're not on your website?

  • If it made me sound like Marcellus I'd demand my money back. We've got a great two for one sale going now. you pay us for two , we give you one. It's a great deal---for us, and it's about time we got a break from customers.

  • Could you seriously do your own ligature? I would buy it! I know you would do an awesome job thinking of one.
