It is about denial: "But you really need to listen to me, because I'm telling you the truth, I mean this, I'm okay *trust me* I'm not okay..." It is the age old line of questioning. People ask you over and over again, "Are you okay" and you usually anwser, "I'm fine, just feeling a little under the weather" or whatever other bullshit you can come up with at the time but really you aren't so great.
