I wish they would set Mark Chapman free. Then he would get the beating of the century from thousands of Lennon fans ganging up on him the second he'd be released.
When I first saw this video, I told my best friend and band mate that I think he's a marvelous musician and I loved him. He punched me in the arm and said shut up but I think I got the message across.
Amo esta cancion y ahorita estoy llorando porq hace 31 años nos arrebataron a un ser muy especial :') Te amo John y viviras en mi corazon y en tu musica por siempre.
The live version is so much better than the studio version. He's out there alone, open and honest singing to his dead friend whom he loves dearly. There's nothing more beautiful than that. Rest in peace John, we love you
I wish you a happy happy birthday Paulie.I hope this will be one of many many more birthdays to come.I just can't imagine a world without you.Keep illuminating this world for many many more years.I light a candle in my heart for you.I really love you.Paul McCartney lives forever!!!!
They were like brothers, the four of them, and brothers dont get along all the time, but the love is greater no matter what!!!!!! How i wish he writes so,mething for George too !!!!
I saw Paul play this live, it was the best moment in the concert. It started raining while everyone cried... It was amazing, best concert ever (mexico city 2010)
@GreenDayrokz777 I feel bad for john, its kinda clear he felt in the shadow of MCcartney and in fact before he died his personal driver said he was kinda depressed at how good a song he thought pauls "coming up" was.
@GreenDayrokz777 You're also forgetting that this was made after John's death. And How do you sleep was made after the Beatles broke up so obviously there was still some tension during that. You can't compare the two then they're in two different periods of their lives. Also, how do you sleep was in response to one of the lines in "Too Many People" Written by Paul. They weren't on the best terms before john's end but they were still friends. Jesus you seem more bitter in that comment than John.
This is an absolutely exquisite, heartfelt song that could only have been written by one man--Paul McCartney--and this is the best version of it that I have heard. It is relatively unknown, which is a great loss to the world.
@francislachance I never said he did; it's mostly a Lennon composition though McCartney played a role to some degree it it's authorship even Lennon said so in interviews.
A moving tribute to Lennon. I had this album in the early eighties then "forgot" about it and this song. Thank you for posting it and reminding me how beautiful it is.
Thank you, I love this. This goes out to my friends that passed at a very young age, Mike Snyder & Marty Newberry, I love and miss them with all my heart. Merry Christmas BROTHERS......R.I.P.
Beautiful song! This reminds me of a friend from high school who was tragically gunned down last Monday at the age of 23. He was about to live the 'American Dream' but was gone too soon. I too wish Lennon would see this, but he was in the heavenly sky. Kudos to McCartney!
I have never seen a musician to have written a very touching and heartfelt song in honor of a band mate like this. No matter how much riches or prestige Paul may acquire in life, nothing could ever remove the pain and sorrow he feels as reflected in this song that he chooses to sing in his concerts. He truly loved this man John. The memories are like yesterday. It is hard for me to see him sing this song as it is painful. He sings from his heart always. Thank you for the video.
Paul, many call him a sellout today, an old fart living of the past, but they don't understand the universal time this music is in, iot doesn't get old.
and paul knows how to let his feelings out, also his covers of a day in the life and somethig are very touching, and the songs he wrote for linda, even the song he wrote for his dog.
@Freeindividua2 u are so stupid. I guess ur just and early beatle fan, youll discover the truth, and laugh once u realize how stupid this was, and how you could have believed in it.
No man, it's not stupid. I research seriously this topic.
Watch documentary: Paul is dead George Harrison last testament
and look more(Google): Paul McCartney died in 1966: forensic evidence I know how shocking this can be and messenger always get salve of bad things so i can't be mad at you. I understand that this news suck but we must research objective reality for truth. We are be lied for almost 95% in our live from early age. Peace
@Freeindividua2 ive seen that video, i know all about it. its stupid. they talk about things that happened in 1965, and a lot of things sound made up and stupid. Thats how they make money, by drawing attention, its just a stupid story. look for paul is not dead comparisons. I could give u all the evidence u need to know to prove hes not dead, but i can write it here. hes not, its just stupid, how can u believe a stupid story like that? its a trick to fool people.
@Freeindividua2 yeah it's an intriguing story, but it just doesn't ring true. McCartney's music post-66 is far too good! I prescribe a dose of Robert Anton Wilson (for lessons in doubting healthily and conspiracy theories), Allan Pollack's "Notes on..." series (for analysis of Beatles music), and for you to take action against global conspiracies by eating well, exercising and being kind to people. You don't do the movement any favours by spreading stories like this. Peace.
thahaha plastic surgery imposter , thaha omg this is the stupidst thing i've ever heard, can plastic surgery make you sing like paul mccartney huh ??? it doesn't make any sence... and his feeling in this song for john is so emotional, so great that nobody else could do that ... PAUL IS NOT DEAD and stop discussing about it ... -_- grow up
I think so much of Paul McCartney and John Lennon as solo performers, because they were both GIANTS in their own right, and I think so much of them as separated and apart from each other, that when I see a picture of them from the 60's sitting next to each other with smiles and their arms around each other, especially the late 60's when John had the trademark glasses and long hair, it just floors me. It's like I suddenly remember, these guys that I admire so much individually were brothers.
@superman11978 Lennon rated him, he just had to be seen to be in competition, especially in the solo years. What was it he said? McCartney is the greatest bass guitarist of all time. Lennon said that. He's keeping the spirit of The Beatles alive, and I'm sure both John and George would be happy about it. But I agree...seeing any footage of John and Paul together, especialy when I was younger, was the holy grail. A little glimpse into their relationship, and the songwriting sessions. Peace out.
Grieving is a dark and sad time that is necessay, I know when I die I don't want people to be too sad. It would make me feel bad that they were unhappy. I want people to be happy and celebrate my life, maybe have a drink for me and toast the good times. Hard to do.
i absolutely love this song. its a beautiful tribute from a peer, a fellow genius in music. these two guys are a defining point in history, not just ours but the worlds. when you die can you say you have had such a poinant relationship?
Love the video AND the song. Was wondering if I could use this video in a show my band is doing for John Birthday on Oct. 9, 2010 in Denver? Its a celebration of his music and this video would add to the LOVE we all have for John AND Paul.
i saw McCartney about a month or so ago and when played this song, there was not a single noise in the entire venue, it was almost like everyone wanted to be quit just to show there respect for John Lennon and Paul McCartney's friendship
I had a friend once, we were best friends. Then we had a falling out over something that I realize now was stupid. I always meant to find her and sort things out, but I didn't, years passed - I often thought about her but didn't do anything, thinking it can wait. The next time I heard anything of her, it was from her daughter telling me she had passed away a year earlier. I would give anything to have a minute to say I'm sorry, I love you and I'm so lucky to have known you.
Perhaps the best McCartney song since "Yesterday"; while he wrote it for John shortly after Lennon's murder, couple this song with Garth Brooks' song (and video) "The Dance" and you have a very potent life philosophy...

i absolutely love this song. its a beautiful tribute from a peer, a fellow genius in music. these two guys are a defining point in history, not just ours but the worlds. when you die can you say you have had such a poinant relationship?

Hey there,
Love the video AND the song. Was wondering if I could use this video in a show my band is doing for John Birthday on Oct. 9, 2010 in Denver? Its a celebration of his music and this video would add to the LOVE we all have for John AND Paul.
Thanks.
Joe

i saw McCartney about a month or so ago and when played this song, there was not a single noise in the entire venue, it was almost like everyone wanted to be quit just to show there respect for John Lennon and Paul McCartney's friendship

It's almost amusing how people click on this video then go for the dislike. What's wrong with people, really.
The song renders me speechless each time.

when he says "tears" in "i am holding back the tears no more" it's like flicking a switch. here come the water works.

Perhaps the best McCartney song since "Yesterday"; while he wrote it for John shortly after Lennon's murder, couple this song with Garth Brooks' song (and video) "The Dance" and you have a very potent life philosophy...
