  • I wish they would set Mark Chapman free. Then he would get the beating of the century from thousands of Lennon fans ganging up on him the second he'd be released.

  • Mark Chapman may you burn in hell for all eternity.

  • When I first saw this video, I told my best friend and band mate that I think he's a marvelous musician and I loved him. He punched me in the arm and said shut up but I think I got the message across.

  • 01:21 "I LOVE YOU" :(

  • is it weird that i think of my exgf when i listen to this song... I love you.

  • FUCK YOU MARK DAVID CHAPMAN

  • I feel like if John was watching this from somewhere, he'd be laughing and saying, "You old sap," while his tears betrayed him.

  • @channyandseddiefan Screw u.

  • @TheFatherOfFire What?

  • @channyandseddiefan Aww that made me so sad! But it's probably true. =) I bet John was watching from Heaven!! lol

  • just in this day i heard this song for depresing

  • Amo esta cancion y ahorita estoy llorando porq hace 31 años nos arrebataron a un ser muy especial :') Te amo John y viviras en mi corazon y en tu musica por siempre.

  • The live version is so much better than the studio version. He's out there alone, open and honest singing to his dead friend whom he loves dearly. There's nothing more beautiful than that. Rest in peace John, we love you

  • Awn Paul, why do you always have make me cry?

  • @BrunaSaraiva96 You are not the only one.

  • @Freeindividua2 I have some things I need to sell you!

  • I think John would appreciate this song :)

  • @rafaultimate69 Pshh! Yeah right. I love John but what he would've really said is, "Man up, Paul!" :D

  • T_T muy feeling la song!!!! en el concert fue uno de los temasoooooooooos :'(

  • very good

  • GRAZIE JOHN...GRAZIE PAUL!

  • I hope I'm not a wimp for crying everytime I listen to this...

  • They were like brothers, the four of them, and brothers dont get along all the time, but the love is greater no matter what!!!!!! How i wish he writes so,mething for George too !!!!

  • It hurts me to see an alone beetle, singing about his friend )`:

  • @WoWerrty

    Beatle... Come on

  • @WoWerrty Beatle and he is not alone Ring to you know.

  • I saw Paul play this live, it was the best moment in the concert. It started raining while everyone cried... It was amazing, best concert ever (mexico city 2010)

  • theres great singers then theres Paul McCartney

  • I have this DVD.

  • "but you were always there with a smile"

makes me tear up everytime, just thinking it

  • I began crying at 0:32

  • he writes this for john after john writes how do you sleep? for him. i wonder who was more bitter

  • @GreenDayrokz777 I feel bad for john, its kinda clear he felt in the shadow of MCcartney and in fact before he died his personal driver said he was kinda depressed at how good a song he thought pauls "coming up" was.

  • @GreenDayrokz777 You're also forgetting that this was made after John's death. And How do you sleep was made after the Beatles broke up so obviously there was still some tension during that. You can't compare the two then they're in two different periods of their lives. Also, how do you sleep was in response to one of the lines in "Too Many People" Written by Paul. They weren't on the best terms before john's end but they were still friends. Jesus you seem more bitter in that comment than John.

  • This is an absolutely exquisite, heartfelt song that could only have been written by one man--Paul McCartney--and this is the best version of it that I have heard. It is relatively unknown, which is a great loss to the world.

  • such a beautiful song. a true friend

  • "What about the time we met?" always gets me.

  • lovely song great tribute R.I.P. John

  • there are no words to express how much i love this. RIP johnny, we all love you and miss you.

  • Best Thing Paul McCartney Can Say Before The Song.

  • Beautiful song and Beutiful performance by Sir Paul Mccartney

  • One of the best damn friendships I know.

  • We all miss you John hope having fun where you are now :)

  • 'i aint holding back the tears no more...'

this song never fails to make me cry.

love you paul, love you john...love the beatles.

  • @francislachance John wrote the lyrics, which are most famous, but Paul provided the melody and George Martin composed the piano solo

  • Can it be better then this? Hat's off to Sir Paul. Your "in my life" Paul always, best to you always

  • @toddadale paul didn't write in my life

  • @francislachance I never said he did; it's mostly a Lennon composition though McCartney played a role to some degree it it's authorship even Lennon said so in interviews.

  • its so sad that before, they were always seen together. Now, its just Paul alone there singing by himself.

  • This really make me wanna cry ='(

    That's true friendship

  • you just know that john is looking down on paul and smiling...

  • Rest in Peace John Love, you brought beauty to this world. We love you.

  • @LoveSenseDimension

xDDD John Love, i LOVE that ending scene from Yellow Subamrine.

  • I had a dear friend 2, His 44th Birthday was the 14th of feb, I miss my friend, Happy Birthday Mike.....

  • @RouteMasterACH I'll let you know when I find out.

  • *lacrime*

  • "I really loved you it was glad you came along". We're all glad that you met each other

  • 1:21 "I love you" Broke my heart

  • one*

  • If John was listening in heaven he will to Paul "Don't be cheeky mate"... Ahh John the witty one :)

  • A moving tribute to Lennon. I had this album in the early eighties then "forgot" about it and this song. Thank you for posting it and reminding me how beautiful it is.

  • Correction Mr. poster of this video it was NOT dedicated to John it was WRITTEN for John. Linda was alive when this song was written and recorded.

  • @McMatthew420 if he wrote it for John, it sorta goes without saying that it was dedicated to him.

  • hearing things like this makes me want to say "dang it people make a time machine already"

  • this makes tears well up in my eyes every time... rip john lennon, may your legend live on forever.

  • I'm sure John is listening, pretty sure.

  • mark david chapman espero que te pudras en la carcel puto de mierda...asquero, inmundo animal

  • Daniela, if you were here today ...

I ´ve been loving this song, since I first heard it in the early eighties.

If you ever have lost someone whom you will never forget in your whole life, this song won´t get out of your head and your heart ...your hole life !

  • @muzikatzi22 so true. so true.

  • Thank you, I love this. This goes out to my friends that passed at a very young age, Mike Snyder & Marty Newberry, I love and miss them with all my heart. Merry Christmas BROTHERS......R.I.P.

  • Crying. Only The Beatles can put me to tears. Only them.

  • to bad guns exist.

  • six people hit the wrong button

  • r.i.p jhon

  • great song

  • incredible and touching. Two lads just having fun and they changed the world with music. WOW!

  • Very very moving song .... but that's Paul, straight from the heart ...

(I can't help wonder what song John would have written if Paul had passed before him ....)

  • Beautiful song! This reminds me of a friend from high school who was tragically gunned down last Monday at the age of 23. He was about to live the 'American Dream' but was gone too soon. I too wish Lennon would see this, but he was in the heavenly sky. Kudos to McCartney!

  • I have never seen a musician to have written a very touching and heartfelt song in honor of a band mate like this. No matter how much riches or prestige Paul may acquire in life, nothing could ever remove the pain and sorrow he feels as reflected in this song that he chooses to sing in his concerts. He truly loved this man John. The memories are like yesterday. It is hard for me to see him sing this song as it is painful. He sings from his heart always. Thank you for the video.

  • @yerblues1968

Paul, many call him a sellout today, an old fart living of the past, but they don't understand the universal time this music is in, iot doesn't get old.

and paul knows how to let his feelings out, also his covers of a day in the life and somethig are very touching, and the songs he wrote for linda, even the song he wrote for his dog.

  • Omg i'm actually crying

  • I don't understand how 6 people can't like this song... ??

  • I cant belive i was in NYC and paul was there and i dint see him (i know this because i just watched him on jimmy fallon saying that)

  • Those two were really as close as any friends could get. Everyone still loves and misses you John.

  • John Lennon died 30 years ago today. So sad.

  • Rest In Peace John. <3

  • Elle est plus que magnifique cette chanson... R.I.P John ☮

  • 30 years today :( rip john...beautiful song<3

  • Yes, I'm crying too. And I do that everytime I listen to this song.

    Sensacional. Simplesmente sensacional.

  • @andressaferro. It's beautiful

  • magnifique

  • I can never hear this song without crying. Such a beautiful song. R.I.P. John Lennon <3

  • @kyokohonda10 We will also miss our dear George

  • @GameInfernape True that, true that..... :'(

  • @kyokohonda10

Yeah but R.I.P. to real Paul also. This was plastic surgery imposter. Paul died in car accident 1966.

  • @Freeindividua2 u are so stupid. I guess ur just and early beatle fan, youll discover the truth, and laugh once u realize how stupid this was, and how you could have believed in it.

  • @Mrmofongo624

No man, it's not stupid. I research seriously this topic.

Watch documentary: Paul is dead George Harrison last testament

and look more(Google): Paul McCartney died in 1966: forensic evidence I know how shocking this can be and messenger always get salve of bad things so i can't be mad at you. I understand that this news suck but we must research objective reality for truth. We are be lied for almost 95% in our live from early age. Peace

  • @Freeindividua2 ive seen that video, i know all about it. its stupid. they talk about things that happened in 1965, and a lot of things sound made up and stupid. Thats how they make money, by drawing attention, its just a stupid story. look for paul is not dead comparisons. I could give u all the evidence u need to know to prove hes not dead, but i can write it here. hes not, its just stupid, how can u believe a stupid story like that? its a trick to fool people.

  • @Mrmofongo624

Please if you have time go to my profile and watch video i just upload and read description.

  • @Freeindividua2 oh my, you are foolish guy. why dont you looking for the show Paul sang in White House in 2008:|

  • @Freeindividua2 yeah it's an intriguing story, but it just doesn't ring true. McCartney's music post-66 is far too good! I prescribe a dose of Robert Anton Wilson (for lessons in doubting healthily and conspiracy theories), Allan Pollack's "Notes on..." series (for analysis of Beatles music), and for you to take action against global conspiracies by eating well, exercising and being kind to people. You don't do the movement any favours by spreading stories like this. Peace.

  • @Freeindividua2 you er moron :|

  • @Freeindividua2

thahaha plastic surgery imposter , thaha omg this is the stupidst thing i've ever heard, can plastic surgery make you sing like paul mccartney huh ??? it doesn't make any sence... and his feeling in this song for john is so emotional, so great that nobody else could do that ... PAUL IS NOT DEAD and stop discussing about it ... -_- grow up

  • @bbone6512

You are ignorant. Read description of my last uploaded video.

  • @Freeindividua2

    sorry mate i'm not a believer ;) i don't believe in these fake story's...

  • @Freeindividua2 Die.

  • @Freeindividua2 Really? This is ridiculous, but thank you for make me laugh, this is a sad song. You know?

Ps: If they had another ''plastic surgery imposter'' for me, I would be glad.

  • If you were here today...

  • so beautiful!

  • Hermoso Paul, cálido y sentido.

  • I saw him yesterday, I cried when he played this song

  • I saw he yesterday, I cried when he played this song

  • It's beautiful in every sense of the word....

  • oh my god, I must crying

  • 6 assholes

  • I think so much of Paul McCartney and John Lennon as solo performers, because they were both GIANTS in their own right, and I think so much of them as separated and apart from each other, that when I see a picture of them from the 60's sitting next to each other with smiles and their arms around each other, especially the late 60's when John had the trademark glasses and long hair, it just floors me. It's like I suddenly remember, these guys that I admire so much individually were brothers.

  • @superman11978 Lennon rated him, he just had to be seen to be in competition, especially in the solo years. What was it he said? McCartney is the greatest bass guitarist of all time. Lennon said that. He's keeping the spirit of The Beatles alive, and I'm sure both John and George would be happy about it. But I agree...seeing any footage of John and Paul together, especialy when I was younger, was the holy grail. A little glimpse into their relationship, and the songwriting sessions. Peace out.

  • MORAISITO O FUGITIVO - the best!!

  • im crying.....

  • Oh fuck, now I'm crying.

  • i still remember how it was before and i am holding back the tears no more go on macca

  • What a beautiful song! (tear)

  • What a beautiful song! (tear)

  • Happy 70th Birthday John!

  • Man i dont cry, i just dont,ever.

but this song gets me everytime.

  • Grieving is a dark and sad time that is necessay, I know when I die I don't want people to be too sad. It would make me feel bad that they were unhappy. I want people to be happy and celebrate my life, maybe have a drink for me and toast the good times. Hard to do.

  • i wish lennon could see this

  • @springsteen96 he can.

  • @springsteen96

I'm sure he can see it from heaven :)

  • @springsteen96

  • i absolutely love this song. its a beautiful tribute from a peer, a fellow genius in music. these two guys are a defining point in history, not just ours but the worlds. when you die can you say you have had such a poinant relationship?

  • Hey there,

Love the video AND the song. Was wondering if I could use this video in a show my band is doing for John Birthday on Oct. 9, 2010 in Denver? Its a celebration of his music and this video would add to the LOVE we all have for John AND Paul.

    Thanks.

    Joe

  • i saw McCartney about a month or so ago and when played this song, there was not a single noise in the entire venue, it was almost like everyone wanted to be quit just to show there respect for John Lennon and Paul McCartney's friendship

  • I had a friend once, we were best friends. Then we had a falling out over something that I realize now was stupid. I always meant to find her and sort things out, but I didn't, years passed - I often thought about her but didn't do anything, thinking it can wait. The next time I heard anything of her, it was from her daughter telling me she had passed away a year earlier. I would give anything to have a minute to say I'm sorry, I love you and I'm so lucky to have known you.

  • profound, beautiful, and genuine .

john and paul are so good to the world...

    Thank you both.

  • It's almost amusing how people click on this video then go for the dislike. What's wrong with people, really.

The song renders me speechless each time.

  • @Mactwee Well I'm with you, I really like this song. But everyone's entitled to their own opinions.

  • when he says "tears" in "i am holding back the tears no more" it's like flicking a switch. here come the water works.

  • Perhaps the best McCartney song since "Yesterday"; while he wrote it for John shortly after Lennon's murder, couple this song with Garth Brooks' song (and video) "The Dance" and you have a very potent life philosophy...

  • Very sad and emotional song. Rest in Peace John Lennon. We love you

  • 6 people are justin bieber fans...
