My wife told me that she found domestic turkeys to be so stupid that you had to show them where the water was and stick their heads in it, or they might not find it. Also that turkeys would routinely get in trouble like getting their heads caught in pipes, etc. It would be fun to have a contest for the stupidest turkey ever.
Actually, domestic turkeys ARE so dumb that they sort of HAVE to be factory farmed. They will pile up on each other and be crushed and die. But there is an industrial turkey barn near our country place, and wow, it smells bad. It's cruel to the animals to do that. We quit eating poultry except for guinea fowl, which cannot tolerate factory farming and must be raised free range. Is this normal, so many wild animals out there in the open? The US has changed since I left!
Idk who told y'all they were stupid but a Turkey has the best eyesight in the woods.
