whats the point in having shitty little single axle trailers like that and a truck designed to pull much bigger and heavier loads its a huge waste why not just by a rigid it would make things alot easier and save on diesel
The only mistake the driver made, was to lean out of the door for a look while reversing. That is a Test Failure as well as dangerous. Otherwise, he got the job done.
gotta feel for guy, I think all us truckers have been there at some stage, some more than others no matter how experienced we are. My worst, after about 7 years of all sorts of trailers I got a 3 leg rear axle steer 40ft, could I put that on the bay.... could I fook, took about 6 attempts!
We have all been in that situation or I certainly have, mind you i avoid blind siders like the plague. In all honesty I would say it took me between 3 and 6 months to get the reversing perfect, second nature now.
first of all the driver was reversing blind side and added to that he was reversing a single axle trailer which oversteer so easily especialy if he had been used to driving triaxle or twin axle trailers for a while. All that said he did a pretty good job.It went in the right direction and was on the bay whats the problem. I take my hat off to him
if your a driver then you know what im saying, we all have these days even when you been backing up on same bay for years, some days she will go in 1st time other days are like this blokes, but certainly dont help when you got some tit filming ya when your trying to concentrate
there was plenty of room to turn round so he didn't have to blindside, and there was no-one else on the other bays so it was a really easy reverse, even with a short trailer, the driver was being an arse and trying to back in like that, but there is no need to film it
He might be new or have 20years driving under his belt, we all have bad days. So dont stand and film him...help him. One day YOU might need his help and I hope he gives you the right royal salute. Its tits like this that realy dose piss off drivers. By the way no need to answer as most yardes and packhoues staff have no real brains.....that why your there..
@MrMarky2000 and you know all about reversing these single axle trailers right so you know the difficulties with oversteer compared to triaxles which the driver would probably have got onto the bay in one hit. Everybody is an expert .......NOT
He started his reverse on his blind side and made it difficult for himself. Had he kept the loading bay in view from his cab he would have managed quite easily as displayed when he managed to straighten up.
opens the door and 800 gallons of sweat pour out :) . i bet you filming him didn't bother him at all. i've just passed my class 1,can't wait till i have some knob with a mobile phone filming me.might just accidentally put it in gear and squash the cunt.just kidding you gotta take the rough with the smooth i suppose.
you got there in the end pal, that's all that matters. ;)
too the prat filming this poor driver tryin too get on to the bay...guss u never made a mistake driving or reverseing...u should no better.......people like u give us pro drivers a bad name..filming this crap...we all make mistake,s at some time...guss yr one of tho,s patt,s that never do..and no it all...
i to a driver class 1,,, after seeing this his angle is all wrong blindside reverse omg !!!! as for the knob filming him i think i would have drove straight in to him opps sorry joy of blindside reversing never seen a thing, cause you carnt,,,like to see them try ,,,,
The trailer has one axle right on the backend and there is only two other trailers as difficult to reverse as these and that is a 20' skelly or a 20' single axle boxvan until you have some practice. Do not throw stones if you live in a greenhouse.
ive just passed my class 1 and know how hard it is, the first time im reversing onto a bay and see some stupid little warehouse bitch filming me i will happily jump out and let you try manouvere something larger than a pallet pump truck. Why not help out, one day you will film the wrong person and we can all have a laugh when someone films you gettin your ass kicked an puts it on youtube.
It makes me so angry watching these videos here on youtube taking the piss out of new drivers. We all have to start somewhere.
Ive never had the pleasure of pulling a single axle trailer yet but i know there harder to reverse.
If your not a driver then who are you to comment love to see you have a go and if you are then you shoukd know better, you where a new driver once too yourself.
@rpmmatt Theres loads of idiots on here posting videos of new drivers soi it was an understandable assumption to make.
Whether he was a new driver or not where do you get off posting a video of a driver struggling, i stand by the comment and your still an ass, rather than standing there filming why not go help him?
@ElroyHarvey Look, if you know anything about reversing artics, you will see by looking at the start of the video he was starting from a completely ridiculous angle and trying to blindside it when there was no need. He got it all wrong from the start because he was trying to show off by reversing from where he was and he came unstuck making himself look a tit, so thats he he was getting laughed at. He had loads of experience so I knew he would get himself out the hole he dug with out my help.
@rpmmatt Yes exactly! Its there for all to see that he started at such a crazy, unnecessary angle. I'm a class 1 driver & if that was me in that truck I'd have been facing the other way in that yard before trying to reverse onto that bay for starters.....
@rpmmatt haha well if he was showing off by blindsiding the joke was on him lol
Bugger that I always try and make it as easy (and safe!) for me as possible, take ALL the room and ALL the time you need. Patience, common sense and practice makes a good operator :)
@rpmmatt At first I thought it was someone who had never driven a truck B4.Because in the U S thats the sight side not the blind side. Then I rembered its righthand drive truck.I've been driving 16 years and been there and done that myself. You were just having fun with a friend. You knew his experience. We all have those days when we can't back up.I laugh at myself on those days.So do my friends. But man I miss my cab over Argosy sometimes.Gotta love those Scanias.Wish we had some here.
@rpmmatt 33ft rear single axle, requires less input the twin axle with overhang. why did he not reverse on to the loading bay on the driver side. I forgot, you had a camcorder going. So much for your H&S. bet he struggles like F**** at the stores. given him a Scammell Crusader to drive. Men from the boys.
@rpmmatt your user name is lacking some detail, surely it should include 'mrperfect', of course you have never had a bad day, have you ?. i know i have.
@rpmmatt so! he could have been having a bad day, the video guy should have helped him instead of taking the piss by putting a video of him on youtube!
the only tool is the one with the camera...he has either never driven a artic or born to reverse..people that do this filming should be ashamed and are a health and safety hazard.
Probably his first time in an artic after passing his test!! it will come too after experience. Dont help with some idiot filming him either, put the camera down and you jump in that artic and lets see a video of you reversing it!!
Leave the poor guy alone, he obviously wants overtime : ))
