I would tend to agree with the above posts, because people who choose not to listen to a song that's in a different language and both closed minded and naive to the wide world of music. I on the other hand, love listening to both German and Japanese music, those are my two preferences of music. Rammstein, Megaherz, Oomph!, Eisbrecher are all bands that are underrated just because Americans are lazy and won't even bother to look up lyrics.

This is a great song, whether it is about Lord Of The Rings or not, about marriage or not, it does not matter. All that matters is that it is a good song, that it can be taken anyway you want. That is what good songs are about, Nothing Else Matters by Metallica is about James Hetfield loving a girl and missing her while he is on the road but it can be taken any number of ways and that is why these two songs are great. Different meanings means more fans of the song.

just so ya all know..If it wasn't for Oomph, for one, the Neue Deutsche Härte genre would not exist, they inveted it pretty much, second, if it wasn't for Oomph Rammstein might not of existed (cuz of the music genre) or be as popular because Oomph helped them get gigs and such when they were beginning

If you think, that you are SO clever, then you have to know, that Gollum from The Lord of the Rings always says the same phrase: "My treasure", which can be tharslated just the same as "Mein Schatz". And btw, READ the text of the song, may be after that you will see, that the song and my video have A LOT in common.

apparently your grasp of German is pretty tenuous. This song was written about the Ring in the "Lord of the Rings." Hence the reason PreciousAngel chose to show the film clips from the LotR movies.

All I listen to is German music, cuz at least they actually put forth effort into making their music; they're real about it. Unlike half of the crap here in America were peole half-ass the job then just edit it and make it sound pretty. German music at least is worth what you pay for it, live or on CD. Oomph! is the most creative, underrated band in the world. I mean I can see where some people who don't speak German might be hesitant, but these days it's SO easy to just look up the lyrics, that to not listen to a band because it's in another language, EVEN THOUGH it sounds amazing, is just stupid and lazy.

I agree with you about Oomph! being underrated. Since my two favourite bands (them and Rammstein) are German, people immediately assume I'm a total social outcast for listening to music that ISN'T in English, and that really bugs me. German is quite possibly the most awesome language in the world, and just because people don't understand it they're prejudiced against it. They spend half their time on the internet anyway, so it wouldn't be that hard to find a decent translation. Jeez *rolls eyes*

The thing about German being a national language is actually a myth, from what I have read about that. However, many early americans WERE german speakers. Irregardless, it is rooted in truth if nothing else. German is still spoken as a dialect in some areas. There were a lot of Dutch speakers that settled the Americas too. English itself is a Germanic language, so German or Dutch is not hard to learn. Schönen Tag Noch!
