When I first saw the trailer for revelation with this music in the background I almost shivered with excitement and fear from seeing those red and blue books again after so many years. Everyone who played Myst all the way through understands what they did and know that Sirrus and Achenar were terrifying.
Love these games, even though I'm never able to finish them on my own, let alone make it through one age... Don't have the patience unfortunately, but still admire the games.

How dare to copy the back ground tune of CHATRAPATHI (Telugu Movie). Hats off KEERAVANI for your wonderfull original Score (You copy cat) :) :) Shame on you Keeravani :)
Since the so called Halo music is actually a famous Gothic chant, it is not homage to halo, it is an homage to the Gothic. FFS people attribute originality far too much to modern composers when most are borrowing heavily from the classical tradition
@hackersdream: Actually, I love the Halo music, especially that of Halo 2, and I don't hear much similarity save for a short portion after the climax of this song. I've depended heavily on my sense of hearing since having to wear glasses, and I can memorize a track note-for-note. Only a very small percentage of this song even resembles Halo music. Also, without classics to base our modern music on, our music could not evolve, and we would have no modern music.
@hakckersdream: But. . . . If I had to choose a track from the Halo 2, Volume 2 CD that this resembles, it somewhat reminds me of the end of track 4, Unyielding combined with the first part of track 5, Mausoleum Suite. Eerie.
This song it sounds like they are actually singing about something. I wish more songs on this album would sound that way too. A lot of chorus tracks just sound like vocalizing chants. In some cases thats good, but it goes overboard in some areas.
Agreed, the best after Exile's main theme. And same here, I let the main menu play just to hear the music, I was actually happy to prolong our starting of the game. It completely sets up the enitre game perfectly!
actually that was the best bit of the song! still trying to edit it to just retaining the first part of the song, the so called "scary" part. i guess i like it cause the first time i heard it was from the official myst 4 site and they only played the first part.
Played Myst and revelations to their end and i'v been looking for RIVEN and EXILE for years (in any form, getting REAL desperate), anything?

Think about all the time and effort it would take to make a spoken language. The grammar and pronunciation. WOW.

2:48 Halo.
Possible homage to Martin O'Donnell, musical mastermind behind the Halo series, who worked on the production of Riven: The Sequel to Myst?
Or coincidence?
whatzedeuce 1 year ago
@whatzedeuce I dont think its a Coincidence, The Tones match almost perfectly with the Halo theme, Thought a little bit darker
