Disregarding his 2005 season with torn ACL. he was one of the best running backs when he was playing. he was an underrated player and today still should have been noticed more than what he is now. Also two 90 yard runs may I add and was a really good reciever and was a very built RB. Man i miss this dude. The big 4 use to be Farve, Driver, Green & big Bubba Franks
Theres this debate now going on about if Aarong Rodgers is better now then Brett favre ever was and ive been a Packer fan since 1996. Now when analyst say this is now a QB driven leage, they're not lying. Aaron Rodgers is a better passer than Brett i'll give him that, but Brett didnt have to throw like A-Rod because he had Ahman Green! This guy changed our offense from 2000-2006 and made it so versitile. packers from 2002-2005 were the best screen team in NFL. Green was a consistant 1000 rusher
its extremely sad and ridiculous that this man, a perennial pro bowler and packer great has one lousy highlight video on here....the man was an absolute beast for 5-6 years....come on...he also deserves a spot in the packers ring of honor..can't believe ron wolf is up there but not the clubs all time leading rusher
Ahman Green is one of the greatest Packer players from the modern era. I grew up watching him dominate. His O-Lines were great, but so was he. He is a west coast offensive coordinators wet dream.
I was so happy when he got those forearms pads. He fumbled all the damn time with those rubber elbow pads. I remember when he changed them during the middle of a game (against Philly I think). It was raining and the rubber elbow pads were even more slippery than normal, he had three or so fumbles already, then he changed to the striped forearm pads and had a great game.
@cgbp85 I remember that game too. Monday night football against Philly back in 03. I even remember I was at my friend Brandon's playing basketball. Pretty sure Philly won, not positive though.
This guy is my favorite RB ever, straight up beast, he was a complete rb, his only problem was that he fumble too much, but one helluva player. His 2003 season was epic.
Ahman Green ate the Bears for Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner and Dessert They did not have an answer to that guy,Even at 32 if he's lost a step so what he's still good
Ahman Green should be productive on thrid downs. If he wants to become the all time leading rusher in Green Bay Packer history. Plus everyone wants a ring.
Ahman Green healthy would spell doom for Grant,Green is a much better running back than grant,Green has a lot of power behind his runs,I hope Grant improves though maybe Green can help him and be the one two punch we need on offense
they are both good, but grant seems to only be able to make a play when there is a wide open space where as green can just plow through guys and doesn't always have to wait for a space to open. we'll see come game time.
lol i know, they got green in there as a backup but i bet green does well and they put him in as first string haha, naw idk but yea grant knows he need to step it up and get back to where he was in 07
People seem to be very forgetful of the fact that he's only 46 yards away from the Packers all time rushing yards record. He also holds the record for most receptions and reception yard by a Packer running back as well.
yes ahman may have fumbled quite a bit but he helped us so much during those years when favre wasnt that great. he took alot of the shoulders of favre and he was a hell of a running back
not to mention he's now 32 so probably not as fast as he used to be. Most running backs are considered washed up after they're 30. LT is trying to prove that wrong this year but he's already been out for a week or 2 i think.
Speed too...ran 100 meters in high school in 10.4 secs and had NFL touchdowns of 98, 90,83, 70 among his longest runs. I was one of his little league coaches in Omaha and we won a national championship in 1991 (Daytona, FL) when he was 14 years old.
He was the definition of an all-around running back. Speed, power, hands, vision, balance. Good blocker, too. If not for the injuries late in his career, he'd be heading to Canton.
Whatever. The fumble thing is overblown. 20 lost fumbles in those five years, but he touched the ball 1,749 times over that span. He put the ball on the ground a slightly above average amount of times, but it's not like he was Tiki Barber out there. His value to the team more than made up for it. Say what you want, but without Ahman, those Packer teams don't sniff the playoffs.
i agree except for the last part, as u may recall the packers made it to the playoffs in 07 and ahman wasn't on the team, so they can do it without him. but i'm glad he's back because they do need leadership and they need a change, i wish they kept tyrell sutton though. but only time will tell if ahman can be great again for the pack.
