Justice is not a crime. They were arrested for breaking the law.

The notice from chief administrative officer Mike Labrecque also said it is illegal to camp in municipal parks, and that people are barred from the parks between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. unless they have written permission from the city.

The idea that the "system" is simply going to disappear on the merits of their imagined moral superiority is profoundly deluded. At some point the park has to be returned to all the people of Halifax, sir. It is they who are the less than 1% using their park. The irony is lost on them.

@92359hg I would like to be a 1%er though not financially. I don't have that kind of ambition. But to be part of a creative elite? Sure. I admire the guy who invented the wheel. Can you imagine how many foot-pounds of work his idea has done? And it continues to do long after his death? That's the 1% I aspire to. Or John Coltrane, Dante, people like that. A broad diverse healthy market is, I believe, in my best interest though I'm dirt poor.

When I ask someone of your point of view here in Toronto how they'd get food to 2 million people daily without a market, they just stare at me blankly. @92359hg First I agree that when fighting for a cause one must not aggravate those people you want to reach. That's smart. I think a lot of the problems with the movement you support have King Creon-like characters who want to stop the tides. Creon knew that the sea wouldn't cede to his command though and meant it to instruct yes-men that his powers were limited. I don't see the world as 1% to 99% or, rather, there are a lot of ways to slice that pie. The guy who invented the wheel was unique.

I am against the endless occupation of a public park and its privatization by a very tiny part of 1% of the population who then arrogantly call themselves the 99%.
