  • has any body looked at the stats of this guy?? 6'8'' 460 pounds...incredible

  • hahaha. Bigger is better, this is WSM people not fucking ping pong.

only slight disrespect to ping pong. It is cool too.

  • @tommygumport Hahahah "only slight disrespect" :)

  • What's the name of the artist and song in the music-backround? Is it Korn?

Way to go Brian Shaw, that was awsome!

  • @prezim1 which one? theres like 5

  • now thats real training music, fuck that mainstream shit!

  • How'd you calculate the bar weight?

  • @TheTren200 haha, i think he is a bit stronger than an Ox now =P

  • Congratulations on becoming the strongest man in the world Brian. Your the man to beat for the next few years

  • Screw WSM, go be on offensive lineman in the NFL and get paid!!!

  • hell ya korn

  • Beast I want to buy something to hook up to my car so I can do the same training as shaw

  • Nick best

  • well done on being WSM

  • i love how he listens to the same music as me :L, brian shaw is a fucking tank, amazing line up in the finals this year, give it all you got!!

  • I am a big fan of Savickas but my moneys on you this year!!

  • How many noticed he was doing this in converse's lol

  • Great job Brian, my deference to your lift. I hope you will win. Fingers crossed (but not Fingel´s :-) )

  • training in converse shoes listening to korn.. what a badass!

  • Chuck Taylor's!!

  • the WSM weights will be lil baby weights to him once more

  • It'd be alot more impressive if he didn't weigh 200 kilos himself. Even the heaviest set is less than twice his bodyweight.

  • @TheVrominator If a 10 ton man (density, not size) deadlifted 15 tons, would you still complain thusly?

  • @krakistophales Just trying to point out the elephant-in-room that no one seems to notice....... he's having success because he's so big and heavy. He ought to be finishing near or at the top in everything he enters because he outweighs alot of his opponents by more than 100 lbs. He's not as great as a lot of people are making him out to be when you consider his lifts versus other strongmen on a lb-for-lb basis.

  • @TheVrominator Strongman isn't about pound for pound. When two guys tie, they don't look at the guy's bodyweight, but only second place finishes. It's all about amount of weight lifted and reps fulfilled and time in which something was completed, not "wilks points" or bodyweight or whatever other shit lighter guys figure out to pretend they're stronger.

  • @krakistophales I understand that, and it perplexes me that in pro strongman the idea of having weight classes just gets thrown out the window, as opposed to amateur contests where you can have a 175, 200, 231, 265, etc. contest. It's why the heavyweight boxing champion won't fight the welterweight champion, the outcome is already known. A good big man always beats a good little man. We'll just have to disagree on the lb-for-lb argument. At WSM this year, I'm rooting for Rauno Heinla :)

  • @TheVrominator Well, in the case of boxing or MMA fighting, weight classes make sense, because a 250 lbs pure muscle monster will stomp all over even a 180 lbs or 155 lbs guy. However, for strongman, where the object is competing against someone else's reps/time/total weight, who cares about weight class? If you're strong enough, you're strong enough, if you aren't, you aren't.

BTW, who's rauno heinla? Sounds like a Finn. Why not root for the big Z? Don't think he can pull a 3rd?

  • @krakistophales THANK YOU!

  • @krakistophales Best comment I've read in a long time.

  • @krakistophales

    haters gonna hate lol..

  • @TheVrominator Do you lift weights? Do you know how hard it is to keep increasing in strength, even when you increase in size? If you did, then I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be whining about this issue.

  • @TirumphantAce "Do you know how hard it is to keep increasing in strength even when you increase size..." What??? Do you live on earth? Size increase and strength increases go HAND IN HAND, added bodyweight and mass is an ASSET, not a liability in lifting more weight. Again, Shaw isn't THAT good, he's just been bigger than everyone until now, case closed. Anyway, he's gonna get beaten at his own game by Bjornsson of Iceland, who is even MORE massive and just needs a few years to mature.

  • @TheVrominator Actually, they don't go "hand in hand." Not by a long shot. Once you get to the point were you are lifting the weights that this man is lifting, one can only do so much by increasing size. I know and everyone else who lifts knows this because we've all tried the "get bigger to lift more" strategy and it isn't that simple. What is more important is a finely tuned CNS, perfect technique, perfect programming, and perfect rest. Size is merely part of it. Your understanding is lacking.

  • @TheVrominator his height is actually a substantial disadvantage in certain events, just as it is an advantage in the Atlas Stones.

  • @kidfreedom

Only in theory. He may have to lift it higher but at the same time he has longer, bigger muscles so it evens itself out. But in Atlas Stones and Fingals Fingers the shorter athletes are at a real disadvantage

  • Awesome! You da man!

  • that car must be wrecked! good work though

  • wow! thats awesome. i think the trophy's all yours

  • Just Awesome lifting. Great training partners too, that's how you yell at a guy picking up a car.

  • NICE, listening to the right kind of music!... Well except the Rap.

  • Way to go Brian!! That was SICK

  • Yeah man time to take the crown...good luck man

  • do you have a suit on under your clothes.

  • good job brian ;)

  • Good luck this year 'Big Shaw'! The title is yours. Went to Americas Strongest Man last week, Ortmayer looks strong too. But I believe you are the man to beat.

  • Great stuff, Brian! I'll be paying a visit to North Carolina to watch you get your title.

  • beastmode

  • WSM will be in Charlotte NC this year. I will SO be there to see Shaw take the crown back for America.

  • Did anyone notice how easily he put the 100 lb plate into the trunk?!

  • @Audunum that's how most guys move a 25lber around

  • @Audunum Yeah, its amazing. Most fairly strong guys don`t even handle a 45 like that.

  • @Audunum

holy shit you were right dudes a fuckin animla

  • Very tidy work Brian.

  • Great work on the PR Brian!

  • Beast
