We've all used this recipe for years in NZ. You can play around with the fizz and use beer instead and add something like cheese and herbs to make a savoury scone mixture.
you can use a can of 7up lemonade but I hate to tell you New Zealanders aren't the only people in the world who mean 7up to be lemonade (7up is alot sweeter than the Sprite the coke brand lemonade I usually use), can also be Sprite or any fizzy drink that is sweetened and tastes like lemon, (just don't use the homemade lemonade that americans call lemonade)
try pausing at recipe stage I thought it would be a bit boring if too slow but I try to get around to putting recipe in info space thanks for the feeback
ive had a few attempts at this recipe, i find that the consitency isn't something i can roll out and knead, its really limp. they dont tend to rise so well either. any suggestions? i put the exact quantities in?
you are using 4+ 1/2 cups of self raising flour (not 4 x 1/2 cups flour) I've made this recipe lots and never had a limp dough try adding a bit more flour until very sof dough forms

In North America substitute plain flour and 3tsp of baking powder for the self raising flour

unfortunately most supermarkets use scone mix which tastes yuk as they only add milk, water and if you're lucky maybe some oil or butter

Are you using seven-up? Lemonade is 7-up in New Zealand.

Your video is too fast, it would be good if you could have had a recipe list, and commentary. I had to keep replaying video
