Making something good from something good, is good. Iv'e never heard this tune until i saw the negative comments about it being used by Webber. Everyone borrows and steals a little and if they say otherwise they are telling porky pies!
E.G. Just check out Indiana Jones the movie with Charlton Heston in it. Almost a scene for scene copy by Spielberg and Lucas. Steal, but steal it properly. £££
beautiful ... with some flatting. Still haven't quite forgiven her for saying Olivero's version held no interest for her, but I can also see why ;) And, of course, Mr. Corelli ... *sigh* ...
yeah - that guy is really at the bottom of the barrel in the talent department ... lthe only memorable melody from that whole crap show he lifts straight from Puccini and slaps his own name on it --- pathetic
very beautiful music and singing

you can hear where Andrew Lloyd Weber copied Puccinis Music into the music of the Night from Phantom towards the end of the duet

not to worry the Puccini estate gets 1% of phantoms profit because of that and thgats quite a bit of money
tommasop71 3 years ago
should be 99% with the 1% going to Sir Andrew Lloyd NoTalent for some music lessons

Do you mean starting around 1:53? I notice the resemblance too.

Yes its in the Music of the Night "suddenly the senses abandon all defenses" bit...god bad lyrics!

You are right - 5 sec of Weber's musical is reminiscent of Puccini's Fanciulla. Anyway, one of the best italian operas - good choice Mr. Weber!
