i practice daily and keep my semi acoustic guitar in the cover for night(until i sleep) and it can extend up to morning and evening
coz i practice only in evenings
so my question is should i regularly tune and loosen the strings coz my dealer told me to do so regularly but some guys told me that you shouldnt coz its a matter of a day and you can keep the guitar tuned for days if you practice daily
so someone PLZ TELL ME SHOULD I TUNE DAILY AND LOOSEN THE STRINGS?or not?
When i restring my acoustic i only wrap the string around the post once. I do this the same way for each string. Just once wrap around the post then put it through the post. Then wind a few times till it's fairly tight, but not too tight to break a string. Then do the rest of the strings one by one and then tune up. Pull on the strings a little at the higher frets then tune it again. Works well.
does it matter which way you turn the peg? I know for tuning it would be nice to have them all the same way but does it affect anything if i dont do it like that?
hi, i wanted to ask if winding the string is necessary? i have looked at a couple of other videos and they mostly use the under and then over lock technique.
Using pliers will tear up the pegs. If you push the string down into the guitar body, the peg should slip right out. At the very least, buy a string winder for two bucks and use its peg puller.
@david00012 have you ever looked deep into the all seeing eye of a video camera while trying to speak about something? its incredibly nerve racking, esp when you know theirs trolls on the interweb :P i bet this guy gives awesome hugs
@ddblad5 Yea man that's Parkinsons disease, I don't really think this guy has it though. His voice sounds pretty nervous too, I think it's just general nerves in front of the camera. If he had Parkinsons he would probs not be able to play the guitar so well because of all his shaking.
thank you i went about restringing my guitar (first guitar) without any knowledge i messed up a lot and cut my fingers a couple of times this was real helpful i'm about to try a second time
I wanted to ask, is there a "trick" to tuning an acoustic guitar? I just started playing a month ago and it freaks me out every time I tune it because I break strings so often. But its only been with the strings that were on the guitar during delivery. I'll see if the new strings i put on still break as easily. But if you know any tricks or techniques dont hesitate to reply :D thanks a lot
Well if you don't have a tuner get one so you don't over tighten the string. When restringing you should tighten each side in a different direction. Like if you have to turn the tuning thing towards you on the top half of the head on the bottom half when you turn it toward you it should tighten it. Also when you start tightening the strings you should have some slack on the string.
yer dude get some good quality strings like maton or martin even gibson. and see which suits your guitar better (when needed). generally if you keep breaking strings your rushing or just not being gentle enough. so be gentle and treat it like your baby and you wont break a string.

@rockysikander I've never heard of that. I doubt you should. But I would ask more people, not just a random guy on the internet. lol

why is everyone asking if he's nervous, maybe he's not comfortable in front of a camera. perfectly understandable.
Battlescar2 7 months ago 6
@Battlescar2 exactly. lot of great teachers get nervous in front of a camera. doesn't detract from the message though.
