Does someone know if there is some kind of transcript of this interview? I'm trying to guess what MR Brandt is saying but sometimes it is hard to me. Can someone Help me, plz
Bill Brandt was NOT born in London! I hate when historians say he was born in London! He was born in Germany and moved to London in the 1921 where he liked to refer to himself as a British Photographer and liked to lie about being born in England.
Aside from that, Bill Brandt's photographs are and will remain amazing. His perspective views with the human body are a great leap in surrealistic work and will always be thought of in my mind. Good video.
Thanks anyway, I wonder if it is because he died in this year, as able to find info on other photographers featured, but still no date. Do you know roughly how many episodes or duration fo the series was? Sorry for all the questions, but this is the only record I can find of this series, apart from the bittorent spam sites.
what date was this aired on? I can't find anything about this particular episode at all, need to reference in an essay, amazed at how rare it seems to get hold of!

You are absolutely right this is down to Bill saying he was British in interviews, and the journo not checking.
I for one am happy for him to say he was British.

You could try ringing the BBC +44 (0) 20 8433 2861 I think this should be the right number or main switchboard 020 8743 8000.
There is all the programme info at the end of each show in the credits that might help with your search did you get to part 4?

It was first shown in 1983 as part of a series like you I can't find any more info on it, I had it on VHS recorded from air.
As far as I am aware it is not avalible on sell through VHS or DVD and I think it was only shown once.
