My greatest peeve with Inchworm is that you can't control the cell exposure time. I mean you can, but I find that the quickest exposure isn't fast enough to make a fluid animation. For example, in FlipNote studios you can make the cell exposure really super fast and it won't seem "patchy" but in inchworm you can't make the pictures change really fast enough for it to not look "patchy" (Full cell animation's a bitch like that) I'd give my right leg for shorter exposure time. That is my only issue

several things affect the shortest exposure time. if you want the fastest, do these things:

- work with antialiasing off

- use as few layers as possible

Remember too, that you can set whatever framerate you want on export, and it should play at that rate on the web or a pc...

Another issue I've just discovered : you better EXPORT EVERYTHING you create to to the SD card as soon as you are done creating. If you use up all the file space with your latest creation, you'll have to delete previous movies to make room to save your current file. If you haven't exported them, you can say goodbye to them, because you can only export movie files that are currently loaded. There should be an option to export previously saved files without loading them.

I understand your frustration. But you can't blame the program. I've been animating for over 3 years, and the stuff displayed in this video are really top-notch stuff. It takes real skill to make the stuff in the video. It really takes practice. The tools provided in this video is excellent. It's like, what professionals use.

OK, the software is very powerful. But it is worthless if you can't figure out how to use it.

The instruction manual online is only in image files. You can't search it. You can't print it because the image files are too big to fit on one page and photo software wonly print over multiple pages. The font is this weird low pixel font that's hard to read.

My son and I are very frustrated with this software because you can do so many neat things, but we can't figure out how to use it!!!!!!!

@screaminscott yow hopefully is isn't *worthless*, but I get your point. I'm sorry the manuals are not searchable -- the only way to get them out of the Nintendo eManual editor was to screenshot them.

@bsabiston: I give you points for responding, but I have to point out that its not just that they arent searchable. I can't even print them - the images are too long for a single page. With software this complicated you need an instruction manual you can read side-by-side with the software. And are you seriously telling me that a software company wrote this manual ENTIRELY in a software package that Doesn't export to text? Really?

This software is just so frustrating.

Most of the people that are worried about Memo only wants to go online. We are all looking for Hatena.

@SuperShadowMario101 Upload the SWF to their website in description and download it using "Realplayer", then convert the FLV file with "Prism Video File Converter". Then import to Movie Maker.

@lolfreak21196 no ram left for sound recording dude, just import the swf or bmp sequence to any animation program you have (there tons of free ones out there) and record the sound on your computer where it can be high quality.

@foofoothesnoo123456 yes, you are right. They make a special piece of hardware that will record the DSi video directly, but we don't have one of those. So this was pretty much the only way to make the trailer. Sorry if it looks lo-fi!

need to know the limit of the frame rate before purchasing, because if it have just 10fps max then its not usefull to me

@makistudio The framerate on the device depends on how complex the graphics are. Single layer line drawings will play faster than 10fps, but lots of layers/background etc will slow it down.

Of course though when you export to Flash you can specify whatever frame rate you want it to play on other computers.

Another way to specify the frame rate would be to save the animation as individual photos, put the frames together on a program from your computer and choose the frame rate there, it's allot less complicated than it seems.

@CartoonWarStudios You must not know what "optimized" means... The DSi version runs at a resolution that is essentially a little under half the 3DS resolution and cannot take advantage of any of the new features of the 3DS.
