Is there any need to see the remakes of PSYCHO, STRAW DOGS, or THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE, to say nothing of TAKING OF PELHAM 123? When are they going to remake KITTY FOYLE, that's what I want to know!
@idealsAREisomorphic I got here just to say the same. It made my fucking stomach ache... I guess it’s part of the 70’s women liberation stuff, I don’t know... but I’m sure if if I was a woman in that situation I would try as hard as i could to cut that motherfucker’s dick off. I hated her character.
@diablodiablodiablo I agree; I'd turn into a vigilante who goes around cutting dicks; I swear to god there's nothing more... sickening to me than a rape scene in movie, and when it's someone's wife it just pisses me off even more. I've seen countless women being depicted as helpless in the face of a gross rapist; I'll be damned if I don't train my daughter to be a killing machine. I need a drink.
@Awkwardgesundheit what made me even more uncomfortable is that first she was raped - that made me angry, then she started enjoying it - it made me confused and angry with her, then she got raped again and didnt enjoy it - i felt like someone was screwdriving my nails
Honestly, why all the hate for the new version of this? It gets annoying, everytime I see a trailer for a remake, fans of the original bitch and moan over, how it's not as good, or too violent, yada yada yada. It's like music, with a cover song, it's supposed to pay homage to the original, but be it's own thing. That's what pisses me off. People have so many issues with remakes, covers, etc. Ever think that the original inspired them to make it? Geez, get the hell off your nostalgic high horse.
Really though, at least watch it on it's own merit and not base it off, "Oh it's a remake, it's gonna suck." That's so childish. That's so narrow-minded.
@philosophygoth91 How the f*ck are we going to watch a remake on its own merit? OxyMORONIC, someone? Remakes and adaptations are better or worse than their source. Period. If someone wants a movie watched on it's own merit better do an original story, or at least change the title.
@philosophygoth91 Bad simile, music is not in essence a narrative art, a good cover is really a re-invention, a bad cover is an attempt to take advantage someone else's creative status. The film equivalent of a cover are subtle quotes, like Carpenter's Halloween references to Pyscho, or De Palma's re-invention of Antonion's Blow Up in his Blow Out. But I agree some remakes are quite good, and it is wrong to authomatically say they're shit, although comparison is always valid.
It fucking pisses me off to no end whenever I see somebody's wife getting raped- How can any man allow that to happen- and what's that asshole husband doing??!?!? HE JUST RAPED YOUR FUCKING WIFEAOHUDFSHGUBRD GOD DAMNIT FUCK THIS MOVIE
@Awkwardgesundheit--I know, right? If you think the rape scene in this movie is disturbing, then check out the lame 2011 remake. In the lame remake, the scene is much more disturbing especially with that PUTRID, SWEDISH, !@@# named Skarsgard (and the wannabe American he really is). It's weird, however, that the 2011 version did not get banned like the original 1971 version did. Now, 2011, the 1971 version is somewhat tame by today's standards. Damn Hollywood to hell for their shitty remakes!
@martini 1900 If you are looking for a somewhat entertaining horror movie that doesn’t leave any unanswered questions, then Lurie’s remake should give you something to do this Saturday night. On the other hand, if you’re looking for an unsettling psychological thriller that will have you debating with your companions long after the credits have rolled, Peckinpah’s original will better serve you.
i guess you must have seen this movie from that time otherwise noway you guys can like this...wath a pice of shit movie if we count from todays movies..almost embaracing to see the shit..and the imdb 7.6 ?wtf?must be guys that are like 50 years old and remember the movie back then its crap for god sake..i bet the newer one is much better to the main audience that watch that one first and then watch the original..
if you just listen to the sound without watching the trailer is sounds like every time the announcer tries to say something he get's thrown through a window.
Is this what Hollywood has come to in 2011? more remakes and a movie with Dustin Hoffman? Next they'll remake Footloose which is sad that they're going to keep doing remakes of old movies. I thought that the remake of Get Carter was okay but the original with Michael Caine was a great performance

@Vleesball You're right, movies are just acting and story. You totally nailed it. Except for the part about editing, framing, pacing, score, imagery, sound, lighting design...
Enjoy your small life of trolling YouTube videos while secretly feeling inadequate whenever you encounter groups of educated, worldly, curious people. People who enjoy challenging their expectations and broadening their horizons -- something real women find attractive.
@Vleesball Whereas blanket statements about old movies sucking simply ooze intelligence. I wonder how many "old" films you've seen. How many times have you deliberately ventured outside your comfort zone and challenged yourself to find the positive in something that at first seems poor. In my experience, older acting styles can ring false to the uninitiated because they are accustomed to a modern style of speech that would have seemed equally unconvincing to viewers in 1971.
French comedy films were great back in the 70s etc, louis de funes his movies are brilliant.
I've tried watching some old movies but i just can't get into them as the acting is always bad in my opinion, not my fault i don't like them. Alot of them also come across as your typical TV show drama holywood makes now.
@Vleesball You're a dickless Idiot... and If 'YOU wanted to get some P*ssy as you so barbarically put it wouldn't you have to borrow your mother's Dick~! Go to chuck E Cheese with the rest of the June bugs and don't attempt to converse with adults..EAT THAT
The remake looks. so. bad. As a very ambiguous movie that is gloriously open to interpretation, I know they won't do that to the remake. I don't begrudge someone making a remake of a good film--after all the Bogart version of THE MALTEST FALCON was a remake--but I begrudge someone making a shitty one to cash in on the violence strictly for its box-office draw. Look what they did to ROLLERBALL for fuck's sake. And THE TAKING OF PELHAM 123.
I thought this movie was made before. I saw a trailer for a remake. Of course, I mean they remake everything, but I went out and bought this. I love Dustin Hoffman. He's one of my favorite actors of all time. It's fun watching him fuck people up. It's so out of character.
This trailer is really only the last half hour. Film was pretty good. The last 30 minutes are incredible!

old movies suck, glad they remade it, the acting in this film is 1/10.
acting is everything. Story in this film isnt anything special so nothing is lost in the remake.
U nostalgic pricks need to grow the fuck up and get some pussy.
