That thing is so underarmored it's scary. Yeah, amazing stats for an MBT that has a quarter of the armor of an Abrams, Challenger 2, C1... heck, it's probably lighter armored than a late-ww2 T34.
There was a tank that broke the 100 mile an hour mark at one point. Fast, maneuverable, an epic gun for the time. But it had only 3/4 inch boiler plate for armor. This MBT2000 is on par with the Christie Tank (which was made during the phony war) for the most glorious deathtrap ever.

Sorry, but the Type 96 and Type 96G are much more advanced than the MBT-2000 AND the VT1A.
That's why the PLA accepted the Type 96 instead of the MBT-2000 or VT1A.

VT1A is just a downgraded t96 with Alkhalid type configuration.
