Everyone and their cousins had me paranoid for this boss, but when I got to him (them), I beat them on my 2nd try...I just plowed through them with a Lightning Iaito +5 while dodging like a ninja. Also I had no idea what they looked like. I had imagined them being just 4 moderately large suits of armor xD So when I went down to the abyss it was really tense seeing what they actually looked like.
@XTremeEnigma19921 You need to kill the Four Kings before you acquire the Lordvessel in order to make Kaathe appear, you do this by killing the old guy in the red robes for the key.
@BloodPlusPwn But that's exactly the point, in order to make Kaathe appear you have to kill the Four Kings BEFORE retrieving the Lordvessel, otherwise you can't be given the key, specifically, but you can at least kill him for it.
@Revaris You actually can still join if you have the lordvessel. You have to do four kings before going to Kingseeker Frampt with the lordvessel, then kaathe will still appear.
@justin26UK This is true. If you go to kill Four Kings BEFORE you get the Lordvessel, you have to kill the guy who has the key to release the water. But if you go to kill them AFTER you get the Lordvessel, the guy with the key will give it to you without you having to kill him. As long as you haven't placed the Lordvessel by talking to Frampt, Kaathe will still appear after the battle. This is what I did so I can confirm this so don't go saying it doesn't work like that. @prevbean It only scales to 10, plus I think humanity scaling is broken for all chaos weapons currently(Or maybe it's just the spells)
