  • well I dont get this..I guess imma buy a gun and sell cocaine

  • i hate math and i am confused

    is it wrong

    or right????????????

  • @dorkdiaries28 The answer is correct. What is confusing? Changing the fractions or subtracting them?

  • its wrong....

  • thanks for reminding me 5/5

  • Thank you

  • it's really 1 7/9 bums

    \

  • @PricelessBehavior No, the answer is correct. If you round it, 3 4/9 is about 3 1/2. And 2 2/3 is just more than 2 1/2. So, using our rough rounding... 3 1/2 - 2 1/2 is 1 and 7/9 is about 1.

  • God I hate math. What a bunch of tedious bullshit that I will never apply in everyday life. But yet, I have to learn it.

  • just do 3-2=1,.......then u hve 4/9 - 2/3 which is -2/9 just add previous 1 to this to get 7/9..easy...

  • CAN'T U DO THIS IN A WAY THAT ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE!!!!!!!!

  • can u maybe EXPLAIN how u got ur answer??

  • that made me very bored

  • Ya almost lost me there. Worked it out though, thanks!

  • WTF he is doing it the LONG and HARD way. there is a faster and shorter way to do this problem.

  • @ACutePanda6 then if ur so good attach a video on video response then n show us how and what it is

  • @kpopcarrot sorry, i can't make any videos. and im not going to waste my time on doing math videos. its just too stupid. why waste ur time?

  • why do they ALWAYS do it the hard way????

    ****LUV YOUR USERNAME!

  • @ACutePanda6 That's the only way..if your too lazy to multiply one number and add it to it then simplify then your just a lazo.

  • @BlueSoda79 Shut it he was just helping

  • Lol atleast I'm not the only one forgetting

  • that so helped my test thank u oyherwise i would of failed

  • thank you!!

  • NERDS. LOL JK

  • Thank you!!! My son (7th grd) has a 9wks exam tomorrow and he was confused on this. He gets it completely so again, THANK YOU for taking the time to post!!!

  • I am 18. I am in college. I should know this by now...

  • I needed to make exercises for a homework, and I just copied this one :) Lol. Thank you ;)

  • THANK YOU ! THANK YOU!

  • and he forgot to change his IMPROPER fraction back into a mixed number

  • THANKS SO MUCH I HAD HW AND HAD NO IDEA HOW TO DO IT SO YEAH THANKS!!!! :)

  • Thanks though!

  • Make shure your speakers are on... PRO TIP!!!!

  • @79holdentorana That's certainly a stupid comment. Thanks for watching! :)

  • stupid video

  • you sir have helped me on my GCSE's thank you

  • wow thnx ;)

  • i wish i were smart.... i'm in advanced math it's annoyingly hard

  • ummm wen changing a number into an improper can you also do that in adding?

  • omg thanks a bunch!!! this helped so much!!! :D

  • @MusicalMindAssault No cause he turned it into an improper fractions.

  • lol you saved my life

  • Thank you so much!! :D xx

Itz one of them ones when your maths teacher runs through it so fast just expecting you to know what hes talking about, then gives you homework :s And then next thing you know, your stuck ar home like WTF I don't get what to do! Haha xD

  • Thank YOU~~!!

  • omg i luv u! lol...u made it soooo much easier 4 me!

    :]

  • Im going to college soon and i forgot how to subtract fractions. I am embarassed.

  • ***********CONFUSED**********************

  • YOU ARE AWESOME, SIR. I'm about to go into college but I've been out of school for a year and these simple ass things are what are getting me the most. THANK YOU!!

  • Why are this know it alls here if they are giving other methods to do the problems? LOL

  • ieeeiiiii i finally got it lol !!

  • Thank you, I forgot how to do this and i just graduated high school. Studying for my college placement test!

  • RIIIITE! very good very nice buh u 4got u were teaching :\ x

  • @MiszM0e simple, you already have the common denominator. Simply just subtract both numerators and you're down :) hope this helped!

  • I understand everything untill you find the common denominator.. Which I can't do..

  • you wont learn anything from my fucking teacher youll only learn it from THIS GUY

  • good job emarcos

  • better than my teacher lol

  • Thanks you help me soo much!! I finaly get it now

  • what if the denominaitor is the same like this equation 3 1/9 - 2/9 how do you solve that?

  • i also did not understand how you got the common denominatore

  • very nice gj

  • THANK YOU HELPFUL

  • THANK U SOO MUCH!! THIS IS MUCH BETTER THEN MY MOM CALLING ME AN IDIOT...

  • THANK-YOU, HAVE A BIG TEST TOMMORW, YOU ROCK !!!!!! :)

  • 26 people are dumb!

  • at 0:49 i got 31/9 - 12/9 because i had multiplied 3 x -2 +2

  • wow this is actually heplful but somethings kid learn better when other kids teach them

  • your the best ever :)

  • thank you very very much man. i went to like 10 different sites . your the best!!!

  • man, you the best ! ;D

  • what if you have a small numerator on the top, but a big numerator on the bottom

  • u didnt help me at all i cried cuz i didnt no wat u was talkin about

  • THanks!!! you helped me pass my Test i got a B+ :)))

  • @SuperHappyface13 The answer is in simplest form. 7/9.

  • umm arnt u suppose to change it back in a mixed number

  • @gofantage. What is "wrong"? The answer is correct.

  • dude thank you so much!!

  • thank u i was about to cry cause i couldnt figure it out untill this video thnx so much!!:)

  • This is awsome thanks!!!

  • wut if u have to barrow? help

  • @awesomeZvidos ...just in the subtraction borrow...

  • this is the best video ever!!!!!

    lol

  • this is helping me to

  • this is helping me!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank You :)

    That realy Helps

  • Hi. This is just one way to do the problem. You can also find the least common denominator. Change the 2/3 to 6/9 ( it's an equivalent fraction). But then you either have negative fractions or you most likely "regroup". We can make another video showing the regrouping method.

  • @emarcos wow!! you're really a math agent !!! :))

  • is there a way you can do it without changing it into improper fractions? my teacher says improper fractions makes it harder espically for them bigger number problems, and won't let us do it this way.

  • thank you. you have helped me sooo much !

  • sahgkfkkjsdhgdfhgeduirerjfasduiyteroeriygfueoweifgaoidf ok!! thx!!

  • Where did you get the 9 from 7/9 ?

  • thanks!! omg!!! u helped me with my homework!! your an awesome teacher :)

  • thxs... this is easy stuff!!

  • Awesome! You Helped me with my benchmark! Thanks!

  • I used Camtasia Studio, a tablet pc and wrote onto Windows Journal (you can use any paint program).

  • @emarcos Okayy mi teacher tought me way different todaii so now im confused like y are u changing the mixed numbers into improper fractions thats wutt confused me PLEASE HELP ME BECUZ I REALLI HAVE TO PASS MATH!!!

  • What software or program did u use to do this?

  • thank you soooo much! i love this vid my math teacher didn't explain this well in class..

  • Your numbers are too easy. But I liked it! :D

  • i don't get it , mine is divide then multiply . xD

  • can you please show me how to do this calculation?

If you could it would make my life easier

4 and 1 quarter takeaway 2 and five eighths?

i think this is a tough one

  • 19 people didn't get it.

  • ...................

  • how does it just turn out to be 9 dumb ass

  • doesnt make any fuckin sence

  • THX SO MUch i need a fresher and this is the best ive seen thx!!!!!

  • can u add mixed numbers like this?

  • r o f l

    f m l

    l m a o

  • how did u get 31/9?

  • thanks dude. My online teacher was just doing it and I didnt get it, so she told me to watch this video. And it really did help!

  • cheers m8 help w/ ma homewrk

  • omg you confused me more then i already was

  • thanks this helps so much!!

  • nerds! :)

  • you kinda lost when finding the least common denominator.why was did you write a 9 at 1:15... if you could respond back soon that would be great i have a test at a community college in an hour

  • @TheLastLaffer Maybe this earlier post will help:

There are several ways to find the LCD. One way is to list the multiples of each number.

    Multiples of 3 are 3x1=3, 3x2=6, 3x3=9, 3x4=12, 3x5=15 and so on.

    Multiples of 9 are 9x1=9, 9x2=18, 9x3=27, 9x4=36 and so on.

    So we have:

    Multiples of 3: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15...

    Multiples of 9: 9, 18, 27, 36...

And we see that the smallest number both 3 and 9 share in common is 9. So, that is our LCD.

  • thanks! i used to be so good in math!!! now i suck. i need this for a challenge math packet i have to do over the summer.

  • i really need to practice math!lol

    i suck!

  • thanks! but how would you do 4/7 - 5/7 since 4/5 cannot be? and there's no whole number. how do you do it??

  • Idiot here.. hmm how do you subtract when its the same numerator?

    Example:

    2 2/6 - 2/6 = ?

Do both 2/6 cancel each other living the whole 2 as the answer?

Or do i have to borrow from 2 in order to subtract?

  • thank you!

  • Thanks It helped me alot,

since I have an end of year maths test =)

  • i can't tell if a 12 year old screwed up boys talking in this vid or a grown up

  • I got the first part, then he lost me.

  • Thanks for posting this, I had forgotten how to do this, thanks!

  • this helped alot

  • uh oh this guy confused me, is it LOWEST common denominator or LEAST common denominator?

  • @GetOutOfMyTree Same thing... you can call it the Lowest Common Denominator (LCD) or the Least Common Denominator (LCD). Doesn't matter. Our textbook calls it the least common denominator.

  • would 6 and 5/3 - 2 and 4/9 = 1/9?

  • @Gamerzwillrule1 Did you mean to write 6 5/3 in your question?

  • LCD for 8 and 5 iss?

  • how did u get the 9 i guess my homework will be an F

  • Thanks, our math teacher doesn't know how to teach us clearly.. we've been using the (ad - cb) / bd formula.. this is faster.

  • how do you find the LCD???

    IDK HOW!

  • @Highbenchfan (uploader) There are several ways to find the LCD.

  • YOU ARE GOOD MAN!

  • yeah. im 11 ears old and just trying to correct my math test! i need to subtract 8 and 1/4 - 3 and 5/6

if any of yall cood help me with that, i wood b sooooooo frigin happy.

    THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!

    HoneyBunGirl123

    :)

  • @HoneyBunGirl123 UMM YOUR ELEVEN YEARS OLD AND U CANT EVEN SPELL YEARS?

  • @PivotStickcreater People make mistakes, mind you.

  • @HoneyBunGirl123 And I meant YEARS. Thanks for pointing that out.

  • is that a program you downloaded? if so whats the website?

  • @halomaster1025 We use a Tablet PC and the free "Windows Journal" to write onto. To record the screen, we use the free Jing or our favorite, Camtasia Studio.

  • perfect!!!

  • What happened to the explainations?

  • Thanks for the Demo....keep up the good work!

  • yea!!! good demo

  • there is shortcut, and it's called subtracting by borrowing.

  • sweet. this helps. i got it right (:

  • thanks that was good.. now i remember.

  • is not 21...is just one way to substract. if you see.. he cancelled the 3 n pt a 2 intead..so 2-2=0.. then in the right side u have 11-4.. that gives u 7... so yea...

  • Comment removed

  • i dont understand at the lcm part help me pls

  • Comment removed

  • @AjzHaRRis --- that means Least common multiple.. all this means is if the two decominaters dont go into eachother one time.. or have a small answer.. like 5 and 2.. dont do into a simple denomintar which means the LCM would be 10.. thats all

  • @AjzHaRRis put is this way.. 2 and 4 would have a decom of 2.. but 2 and 7 would not b.c seven isnt even like 2 is.. so it would be much higher.. hope that helps

  • @AjzHaRRis You have to find the lowest possible denominator that is the same for both fractions. Once you do that you have to find by how much the denominator was multiplied by on both fractions. Then when you find it you have to multiply it by the numerator on both fractions. Hope this helped.

  • thank you, you have helped me

  • @randomlego55 check out kahn academy. its better

  • He said four my fault lmfaooo

  • Isn't 9 x3 =27 + 3 =30 he said 31 fail!!!

  • Thak You this was WAY easier!

  • Wow, thank you so much. This really helped.I forgot about how to subtract mixed number fractions and this really helped.:-)

  • are you married?

  • when you explain it this way its so much easier. Thanx

  • thanks!!!! wow ur the best awsome!!! now i know how to do my homework!!!

    thanks!!!

  • If you have a glencoe math book then go to this website. It has all the test practices that i use to practice. pre-alg (dot) com

also it is very useful in homework help.

  • i hate math

  • Way with you on that one..lol.

  • ummm im having trouble following... see i have 7-6 1/8 and im stuck

  • Dont you turn 7 into a fraction by puting it over one or sumthing?

  • yaaahh man

  • what about the 3 and the 2 D:

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you so much my teacher gives a 50 minute lecture in grade.8 i i wouldn't get it i actually got this in 2 wow i even showed her this vid and she got ticked ha ha.

  • you know that 9 is the common denominator because 9 is the first number that 9 and 3 have in common. :)

  • i dont think u change the fractions into improper fraction....thats wat my teaxher said?? but IDK i SUCK AT mATH

  • me too i also suck at math i get sooooo confused!!!

  • How do you know that common denominator is 9 ?

  • you have to have a common denominator of the two numbers-think of the two number's multiples. 3- 3,6,9. 9- 9, 18, 27. etc, etc. You're trying to find the LCM, least common multiple here and 3 goes into 9 3 times, 9 goes into 9 one time, so 9 is your LCM of the two. (Which is your denominator)

  • woww

  • wow your smart

  • this helped thanks ,

oh and im on my lil sisters

    imm 14 annd i have a test on wed. and i need to know how to do this ccause i have a f in math D;
