I always hated this mission.

Here is a tip: after you destroy the first battlestation, go as an assualt vet then go to forward. If you see the second do not go near it because you trigger it to move. Use the vets long range firepower to attack the battlestation. It will take a moment to destroy it. (I actually got an A rank for this.)

I do not understand why the Assault vets description says they are medium range, they can shoot far.

If you're into squadron command based tactical action, sure. Just be sure you don't mind the "goofy" take it has on war.
