- Until 1941, the USSR was allied with the Nazis. In the 1930s, it was in the USSR that the 1st German submarines were built, and the 1st Luftwaffe pilots trained. USSR co-invaded Poland in 1939, and provided Germany with all raw material & fuel for the Blitzkrieg in western Europe.
- The British convoys in the Arctic sea suffered hell, too, to support the Russians.

Nope, that's not true. Any documents don't proove that. If we talk about Stalin we can say that he is resposible for death of the same amount people as J.W.Bush. Of course he was not an angle but those times was much more harder.
There are countless 'documents' that prove a mass genocide went on during his time. Was it his fault? If not, then it shows inability to control his country, but I think it was generally his doing. And trust me, the cost of lives from all the bushs combined is far less than stalin (perhaps 5%?)

Notable, Stalin killed people on purpose; the forced starvation of Ukraine was certainly a genocide. However, the starvation that resulted from the Mao Zedong's misguided policies were certainly no genocidal.
