It is a sad song, now from my perspective its a song explaining hardships, pain, lose, now if I was to look at this from a perspective of christianity, I'd say its more likely to explain a falling away from "god".

@Drako377 God and Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are one in the same. See the meaning of Elohim. This is the word that is used in the Old Testament that introduces the Trinity to us in God's word. Without God in the equation, there is no Christ and no hope.
@gwrudacille the testaments mean nothing. it is a basis for the religion written by MAN, not by a god. the religion is not simply a belief in some spirit but the action of feeling connected to jesus. that is why it is called CHRISTianity. This would mean that Elohim is a multiple being that is strong and mighty. This word is used in the beginning of the Bible in Genesis for God the Creator.

Music is niether good nor evil. God created music so we could worship and praise Him. If we use it for anything other than that then that's when we have a problem. I'm not a huge fan of heavy metal. Not because i don't like the music. It is just that most of the time i can't understand the words. If i can't understand the words to a song then what's the point of me listening to it.

@HereGoneStay - I very much believe these songs emphasize Christ's grace for us given by the blood of Jesus. The old testament law was fulfilled THROUGH Christ so that we don't have to live up to an impossible standard... the law is meant to show Christ-followers their sin, like a bright light. And when you're exposed, you feel guilt. Out of this guilt comes music like this, raw and emotional. And from that point of humility, you see Christ. It's not about what you do or don't do (or listen to)
Yea I agree with ya'll completely. I'm Pagan, but I do acknowledge great (or in this case awesome) music. People make music that is apart of who and what they are. Those that can do it well are true to who and what they are because they are apart of it and it is apart of them. Race, Religion/Beliefs, Origin nor Gender shouldn't matter.
I am not a christian, i am an agnostic...i still love the music "chrisitan" bands make just as much as the secular bands i listen to. Lets get one thing straight, Demon Hunter is a talented band that happens to profess faith in the Christian Religion. They're bold about it, and they arent afraid to admit that they're christians. That does not take away from their raw talent.. They've never been sellouts, they remain who they are. The product is good music from a christian band. People should take the music for what it is, and stop arguing about silly things as religion.
Christain rock doesn't have to be limited just because of the style. Heavy metal and hardcore is just a style. Therefore christain bands have every right to play it. So you fail...again. I'm amazed that so many people don't listen 2 bands like Demon Hunter just b/c they R Christian. I mostly listen 2 death metal & heavy speed metal 4 the sound & the angst, so its always a surprise when I find that some of my favorite metal bands R Christian bands. I love the fact that groups like Stryper, Disciple, & Demon Hunter, among many others, have managed 2 capably express their beliefs & 2 spread God's message 2 those of us who have more "refined" musical tastes!

Demon Hunter is my favorite christian band along with Disciple, but i think Demon Hunter beats them just a little. This is and probably will always be one of my favorite songs.

Music is niether good nor evil. God created music so we could worship and praise Him. If we use it for anything other than that then that's when we have a problem. I'm not a huge fan of heavy metal. Not because i don't like the music. It is just that most of the time i can't understand the words. If i can't understand the words to a song then what's the point of me listening to it.

@HereGoneStay - I very much believe these songs emphasize Christ's grace for us given by the blood of Jesus. The old testament law was fulfilled THROUGH Christ so that we don't have to live up to an impossible standard... the law is meant to show Christ-followers their sin, like a bright light. And when you're exposed, you feel guilt. Out of this guilt comes music like this, raw and emotional. And from that point of humility, you see Christ. It's not about what you do or don't do (or listen to)

Those that can do it well are true to who and what they are because they are apart of it and it is apart of them. Race, Religion/Beliefs, Origin nor Gender shouldn't matter.

I am not a christian, i am an agnostic...i still love the music "chrisitan" bands make just as much as the secular bands i listen to. In most cases this is much better than anything that i hear anyways. Religion should not be debated when good music is on...it should be how you interpret it yourself. That is how music is..it is how each individual perceives it..stop the arguing, it is pointless and gets you nowhere.

Lets get one thing straight, Demon Hunter is a talented band that happens to profess faith in the Christian Religion. They're bold about it, and they arent afraid to admit that they're christians. That does not take away from their raw talent.. They've never been sellouts, they remain who they are. The product is good music from a christian band. People should take the music for what it is, and stop arguing about silly things as religion.

Christain rock doesn't have to be limited just because of the style. Heavy metal and hardcore is just a style. Therefore christain bands have every right to play it. So you fail...again. Hell, I bet secular bands like SoulFly, Cradle Of Filth, and Job For A Cowboy scare the wits out of you... so go be a panzy and listen to Jars of Clay...buts thats not my argument. I'm amazed that so many people don't listen 2 bands like Demon Hunter just b/c they R Christian. I mostly listen 2 death metal & heavy speed metal 4 the sound & the angst, so its always a surprise when I find that some of my favorite metal bands R Christian bands. I love the fact that groups like Stryper, Disciple, & Demon Hunter, among many others, have managed 2 capably express their beliefs & 2 spread God's message 2 those of us who have more "refined" musical tastes!

the greek word that was used for hand is interpreted to mean hands or metatarsals (wrist). I know what you said is true, it had to be his wrists, but just know that when its translated to english, the word can be hand or wrist, and people said hand first. *shrugs* the fact that ppl say hands doesn't bother me. Demon Hunter is my favorite christian band along with Disciple, but i think Demon Hunter beats them just a little. This is and probably will always be one of my favorite songs.

i am a hardcore christian and i love this band but im so sick of athesist punks talking bad about god and sayin theres no proof. imean there just ignorent but i mean come on theres a black cross in the middle of a white hole in the middle of the milky way galaxy. and i have all the respect in the world for christians who stand up for god. so thanx to all the people who stand up for god.

Don't be so full of yourself ^_^. Non-Christians are every bit as good as you, some better then you in particular I would bet. Claiming superiority over other's beliefs puts you nowhere higher then Hitler or the likes.
Other then that, amazing band; great lyrics.

You're the type of person that gives real Christians a bad name with your foolish ideals and misrepresentations. Please just shut up and quit being such a fake tool. Just another fragment of broken society.... all you know about Christianity is that it's about a God and atheism is one's chosing to not believe in a higher being. Educate yourself before giving the rest of us a bad name.

But that's the thing, they are reaching out to ppl, even though they "sound" secular if your a Christian you can really pick up on what they are singing about. Listen to Undying for example. to someone who doesn't know God it seems secular, but to us we know that it all has a Christian base theme and we can pick up on it
