  • man its gotta be nice not to have a job and go tooling around the country first class while collecting 20 mil plus a year- mama grow your children up to be politicians!

  • Nice Work!

  • This whole damn thing is a show to keep us distracted. . . .

  • @tarfpir yes, Mitt Romney's lower tax rate than a secretary is a distraction...

  • I'm with blow. Tax the lazy rich like Mitt.

  • thank you all for the great feed back

  • I'll defer 2 Mitt Romney on this one - quote, "I'm NOT concerned about the very poor". GOP policies = antiquated Republican ideology.

  • @MRrhythmsNflows It is so awesome that we have him saying that on tape! =D

  • Is it just me or does Charles Blow have a white dude stoner voice like me?

  • Hah I bet its because we left the Gold Standard in 1970 and since then the Rich who been getting richer have close ties to the government. Though I will agree that the tax system is f'd up we have the Highest corporate taxes in the world and only the big players can afford to lobby and bring this % down a bit.

    Illegalize Lobbying,

Fair Tax, or Sales tax for all.

The only moral view point is everyong plays the same % of taxes... Starting up a Class war is not the solution.

  • @KurzLuppii I wouldnt say going off the gold standard was the problem, although printing alot of money does weaken the dollar. Most corporations became larger because CEO's started seeing the power of supplying huge donations to politicians (which wasnt new, but with the economic boom made funding much higher).

There was also an unenforcement of Sherman Anti-Trust laws under the Reagan administration which kept business from becoming the corporations they are now.

  • @biggydx I think the statistic (Not sure how true this is) for every dollar they spend on lobbying they get 220 dollars of tax breaks.

  • @KurzLuppii There's nothing fair about the "Fair Tax".

  • @KurzLuppii These people promote the flat tax (aka "fair tax") on the public saying that if everybody paid maybe 17% or 23% as a national sales tax, there wouldn't have to be any income tax.

    However:

    1) It would drive down sales, and thus the economy.

    2) There would be a burgeoning black market.

    continued...

  • @KurzLuppii 3) Wealthy people would do their shopping overseas in the places with the lowest tax rates. Maybe even move overseas for better living conditions.

    4) Corporations would still move their factories overseas for cheap labor, and keep their profits offshore to avoid taxes. 5) Regular citizens would no doubt use the internet or other mail order options to avoid paying the high sales taxes.

Result: the country would be impoverished beyond all recognition.

  • @bodryn What are you smoking and could I have some?

  • @Chazwozel1 Agreed... I want to get high on what he is smoking.

  • @bodryn Cheap labor is not the primary reason they moved their manufacturing overseas. Sales Tax is much easier to enforce since its something you don't charge but what the government charges, there is no incentive for the Business owners to try to dodge the tax like they do with the income tax.

I am all up for the citizens trying to dodge the sales tax... forces the government to keep taxes low and government efficient. Though the primary root of the issue is the Fed and Fiat system.

  • How do you define a job? Making and managing investments isnt considered a job aye?

  • @Herimia Gotta agree, but I guess you could really say that Mitt's money has a job.

  • @RadarKat73080 Sorry i didnt understand your last bit.

  • @Herimia Ever hear the expression: "Make your money work for you?"

  • @Herimia Romney's money works for him. His money is the one employed.

  • @RadarKat73080 .. I still dont think is fair that he pays a %15 tax rate and I have to pay a 30% tax rate

  • @denisrenelara Me too. Not sure what the Book of Mormon says about taxes, but I do know the Bible says: "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's" and "To him who calls for the tax, pay the tax." How Xian/conservatives reconcile their, apparent, obligation to pay taxes and their disdain for taxes?

  • @RadarKat73080 an bible quote on politics! as a political junkie I am having an orgasm!!

  • @denisrenelara Sorry, I usually buy them dinner first.

  • Americans have no idea how much better their lives are with big business than without it. Ever wash clothes by hand? If you attack GE you'll learn how fun that can be. But seriously, corporate America not only employs thousands upon thousands of Americans but also makes it possible for the average and even the below average person to enjoy many of the luxuries that would otherwise be reserved for the rich.

  • @Stevie68000 LOL. Jesus WAS a Jew!

  • yawn

  • thank you Current and Al Gore for creating Current... Vanguard is a great program

  • kill and eat the rich

  • @AmsterdamHeavy lol, i would understand if you said kill and steal. but why eat?

  • @sinanyazdia To absorb their power!

  • @sinanyazdia Because they outsourced all the farms. We're hungry.

  • @sinanyazdia to absorb their low tax rates!

  • @sinanyazdia So we can see the look of horror on their faces as they understand their fate and realize that no one can protect them from that gruesome end,
