  • Saw these guys at Cleveland Stadium 1979 with AC/DC, Nugent, Journey, and Aerosmith......rocked

  • Just Amazing! R.I.P Philip Parris Lynott =,( I wish i was born at 70´s...

  • we all are....ya know?

  • R.I.P Gary Moor

  • Absolutly one of the best rock bands of all time.

  • "Dislike" =10 morons...Come On These guys were talented and classic.rock at its best!

  • Black Rose, never forgotten.

  • no band like them. A black Irish lead singer and bassist. The gods of rock must of stop making them like Phil because of the threat of an overload of badassness.

  • I know that the late Gary Moore (1952 - 2011) played for Thin Lizzy for a time. Can anyone tell me if that was him playing one of the lead guitars in this video?

  • @kenworth424221 No hes not, its Snowy White in the white shirt to the left, and Scott Gorham in the dark shirt to the right. They changed guitarists often, Gary, Robertson and Gorham is my favorites.

Search for "Waiting for an alibi" and hes on the left side.

  • @kenworth424221 Yes, he was playing in this vid!

  • Props to phil for mentioning the outlaws aniother great guitar band!

  • Phil Lynott (R.I.P) is one of the Best Rock Cowboy's ever.

Wish you always a Whiskey in the Jar there in Rockin Heaven.

  • To be sure, to be sure, a pearl. In fact a diamond in my eyes. Rocked me since forever. Thank you for attending the show Mr. Phillip Lynott, hope your new gig is going well. Hope to be there someday.

  • NOT ROBBO ON GUITAR AT ALL LIZZY

  • 9 people dislike this? WTF??

  • Stevies5, I think that might be Snowy White and not Robbo on guitar. Could be wrong, as I don't remember Robbo with straight hair.

  • best song ever made there is no doubt about it

  • That's not Robbo on guitar.

  • @dws901 Hell yea! There is an awesome version of Black Rose where he does an amazing drum solo. It is called Thin Lizzy Black Rose Live RockPalast

  • EPIC! Need I say more?

  • Saw them opening for Queen in Vancouver and I was absolutely blown away. I knew their music and liked the band, but up close they might have been the best hard rock guitar band I've ever seen.. and I've seen them all.

  • @StephenConantJohnson Thin Lizzy and Queen touring together, erghhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see comments by YOU alot... Hell of FUNNY

  • @rickfisk Do you mean Native American Indians or 7-11 Indians? XD

  • what do the lyrics Ill turn around and move my fingers up an down supposed to mean about being a cowboy

  • Talk about an inspirational band, these guys revolutionized having two guitarists and a bassist, and their drummer was extremely inventive as well. I'm not sure why they had a keyboardist though... He wasn't on any albums at all!

Huge inspiration on my musical writing. Beautiful stuff and very mood lifting.

  • Ya know, I usually can't stand it when I go on a video and see some kid complaining about being born too late, but it's truly a pity that I was born when I was (91), because they seemed like a truly amazing live band and Phil is one of my musical heroes. Definitely would've been nice to catch them. Maybe I will catch them in their current incarnation one day.

  • great band i only wish i could find the bass notes for this song. learning by ear it just dont seem right... anyone know where to find or have a thin lizzy songbook lemme know!

  • Ive been searching for a live version of Cowboy Song for years, and so far have not found it on youtube or any hard copies of Thin Lizzy music. If anyone can help, its probably the only version where he doesnt pause after "the cayote call" and nobody yells. But apart from that, its the best version ive heard. Can anyone help?

  • @qoppot try the live and dangerous album

  • Nothing is better than Thin Lizzy

  • God bless you Phil

  • 7 people thought this was about a sex position.. and were bitterly dissapointed.

  • even deaf people would enjoy this ;)

  • @Thecrippledwizard

I'm deaf, and this is my favorite song in the world.

  • @Thecrippledwizard Especially since you could Feel Phil's Bass and the Drums at concert! Thin Lizzy blew away every act on stage when they opened for others, or all the ones myself and friends saw and heard! Wonderful Band and I can't see them without Phil it's just not right!

  • @Thecrippledwizard Where the hell did this come up from

    BUEN VIAJE MAESTRO!

  • God Bless you Gary Moore...

  • As Phi Lynott died in 1986, me and may band decidet to take a son of Thin Lizzy to our setlist. We didn´t play "The Boys Are Back In Town ", "Cowboy Song" or another real hit of the Band, we wanted to play a song, written and performed unique from Phil. So we made the decission to play "Don´t Believe A Word", which is a piece, that was written by him - and is not played by other bands. Everybody plays the "hits"of Thin Lizzy. We wanted to honour Phil. And so this song is on our list until now.

  • PRACHTIG

    FONS 2011

  • WAT EEN ZANGER, ECHT GROOTS!

  • Love the rifft

  • R.I.P Phil :(

  • I "discovered" this song about a year ago on itunes and now I can't stop listening to it!! GREAT TUNE!!!

  • Thanks for posting!!!!!!

  • I am a cowboy for 7 minutes...

  • there is no band out there that hasnt learned a thing or two from phil and the boys. probably the first band to use dueling leads and playing leads at the same time ala iron maiden etc. till the day i die there will be some kind of thin lizzy close at hand and i will live and relive the good old days. i play guitar because of people like phil lynott and may god ease his troubled soul

  • Your my hero Phil!

  • 5 people are fans of ~Fat Lizzy~ and their Moms' didn't let them grow up to be Cowboys.

  • I can smell the caked dirt, old oil, cigarrettes butts, a stray cat and spent roaches of my blood-brothers garage floor. These guys are garage if their ever was garage.

  • PURE BEAUTY

  • this band is mammoth!!

  • BEATLES

    JIMI HENDRIX

    IRON MAIDEN

    THIN LIZZY

    METALLICA

  • @TheDrunkenHer0 Can't really see the Beatles being grouped in there. Rolling Stones or The Who maybe, but the Beatles were just a little to pop oriented to make that list.

  • PHIL..... "KING OF ROCK&ROLL" R.I.P

  • Phil Lynott had hi's problems "but" still deserves hi's recognition. This reminds me of what music should be and what it's become. Pure shit.

  • @LoveIsADarkPlace dude you're not looking hard enough. Check out Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights. Or groups like Gov't Mule, Widespread Panic. There are lots of good new bands out. They just don't play em on the Radio because the kidos don't dig it.

  • @eagle0468 yea. them bands suck too. ..you shouldnt even mention bands like that within 10 feet of thin lizzy shame on you.

  • @wooohoo2 HAHA, you've OBVIOUSLY not listened to them. No shame felt, thanks.

  • @No honestly, your generation trying to make excuses for your existence..look at the part where the kid on someones shoulders clapping his hand from sheer excitement..those bands you mention cant do that..they have the looks. well kind of, they look like they bought there clothes from target in the hipster/ rockster isle ..im sorry to say all great song writing has ceased to be...

  • @wooohoo2 That's a little too far man, to say that ALL great song writing has ceased to be.There are new people born everyday, new people born into music who just might be the next thin lizzy. There are PLENTY of people writing Incredible songs who aren't whores for publicity and make them locally on the streets of Nashville, Tennessee; Memphis, Tennessee; New Orleans, Louisiana ... You can't knock their blood, sweat, and tears saying they can't help anyone get their souls free. Fuck that

  • @wooohoo2 You sound like an old Fogey who Is still waiting to Break On Through to The Other Side.... Just fuckin' Turn On, Tune In, and fuckin' Drop Out DUDE!!!

  • @jImIjAmZ417 just one song dude, just show me one song..im open minded just show me one song that rocks my world..just one..cant do it? making excuses again?

  • @jImIjAmZ417 pshh you wouldn't know good music if it was a baby grand droppin on your dome.

  • @eagle0468 opps sorry i was referring to the other thin lizzy song with the kid in the crowd from Australia cowboy song/ boys are back in town live, but even so look at the guy with the sunglasses in the crowd in this version..dude is stunned for life..and yes i did see thin lizzy live back in the days...your bands just cant do that..unless your easily amused..which your generation is.

  • @wooohoo2, I don't need to validate any of those groups. They've done a damn good job for themselves. What I find most humorous is the fact that I have not made any argument against Thin Lizzy being a great band, which I believe they are, yet you want to dismiss out of hand the talent and musicianship of other great bands. Some people just have tunelvision and can't be properly communicated with. Think Lizzy is great, you are a complete dweeb.

  • @eagle0468 Hey fuckface, what the fuck are you? some sort of music writer? Name one good modern band.. talent and musicianship means shit with out good songwriting. Something that has been lacking for the past 20 or so years...

  • LOARD ALL STUBERN GIRLS SEAM THE SAME!! :)

  • Man this song is just so awesomely magical.

  • The only reason ANYBODY should dislike this video is because it reminds them of what "music" today has become and makes them miss REAL music like this.

  • @xXAmanomurakumoXx then why don't you pick up a guitar and do something?

  • @unabonger777 I dont have one.

  • @xXAmanomurakumoXx I AGREE 100 PERCENT,AWESOME SONG!!!!!!!!!

  • @xXAmanomurakumoXx good point, i will now dislike the video. good job, man. see what you're making me do?! :p

  • @xXAmanomurakumoXx damn you, you made me want to dislike

  • @xXAmanomurakumoXx shut the fuck up.

  • my sister's friend shagged the new bass player, circa 1990-sumthin'- that makes me an expert. THEY RULE> thats my expert opinion.

  • Still cosmic

  • BEST DOUBLE LEADS...PERIOD.

  • tanks for uploading this from a big FAN of Phil's

  • @timjessa1 John Sykes.

  • @sjice69 right you are bro, !!! my bad, was thinking of his time in whitesnake and thru coverdales first name.. thanks for the correction, nice to see someones on their game.... rock on !!!

  • @timjessa1 No problem, have a good one.

  • Weird performance! Felt like there was alot of Tension in Phils performance. Im havin trouble expaining it. could have been crowd . seems like he was not happy with the energy level or something. Watch Sydney '78 performance u will understand the comparison.
