i think the reason there wasn't a third series of Big Train was because they spent the entire budget on Simon Peggs make-up for this scene. Seriously, most of the sketches are filmed either in someone's house, someone's office or quickly in the street.
Utterly brilliant, come of the best british comedy has to offer at the top of their game. From him saying Roland d'ing Rat to Greg (peggs) wistful look at the picture.
this is my favorite big train sketch....don't know why really, jus the one that stuck in the memory from series 2(the best series...lol) the other one that sticks is the 'production secretary' one.....TIM BISHOP!!!
Nearly every single UK television programme that uses a rostrum camera (the thing that pans in from a wide shot of a photo to a close-up) credits the work to Ken Morse. He's almost got a cult following as a result. Apparently he was popular because he (a) was quick, (b) was cheap and (c) had a parrot.
I can't believe this. I thought I was the only one who ever noticed the name of Ken Morse constantly appearing on BBC documentary programme as 'Rostrum Camera Ken Morse'. Wonderful
Morse's work was even expedited here to Canada for the CBC. I guess that the monarchy couldn't rationalize buying our tiny little dominion our own rostrum camera.
Yes nice spot, I thought it was funny that he mentions his full name and title hen he picks up the phone. Something you can imagine he does everytime he uses the phone, even to his wife.
From the presentation to the music to the acting to thee script, this is a perfect sketch. Big Train was such a clever comedy- in the 60s photographers and film makers did take things too seriously. I like the way Greg Dyke is portrayed as a woman chaser- Greg was the head of the BBC and this was broadcast whilst he was in charge!
Big Train is fucking great

Have been watching 'The World at War' on TV and it reminded me of this sketch! (2min 57sec).
Also, love the line "You've gone from Den Davis to Den Dildo".
Kevin Eldon is so under-rated.

I love the fact Greg Dyke when talking to his own security says: "This is Greg Dyke, Head of the BBC" excellent.

Isn't it time that he became 'Sir The Actor Kevin Eldon'? Or at least 'The Actor Kevin Eldon CBE'.

One of my favs ever!, Greg Dyke on ITV:- 'your living in the past Den, those C***s have made a documentary since the world at war'
A real laugh out loud moment.
Love it - wish they made some more

And what's on the TV now? Retarded catchphrase shows like Little Britain and The Catherine Tate Show.
Big Train is absolute gold.
Another series, I say.
