Soaking your seeds and nuts with water about 2-3 inches above them for 2-4 hours will crack open the enzyme inhibitor . which in return will allow you to gain all of its nutrients :) Since this vid I have sprouted all kinds of things and even wheat to grow my own wheat grass successfully! next Im sprouting and growing sunflower seed sprouts. Yum!
Just to clear up the title of this Vid. As far as sprouting sunflower seeds, I was a newby when I made this video. i was just starting out with raw foods and heard that you should sprout all of your nuts and seed before eating them. So I confused soaking your nuts and seeds with sprouting things like lentils and buckwheat, where the end result is a serious tail and the creation of real sprouted food.
Thanks for the video . I enjoyed it and was glad I read the part about keeping it at a good angle to drain that part was not in the video or I missed. I have only ever sprouted once before but I went raw over the summer and have found it hard to stay in the raw. I am hoping by always having sprouts on hand I will find recipes that will make it easy to feed my family so we can all stay raw. Thanks for your help with that.
@dprinzi Im glad I can help. I can relate, its been very hard staying completely raw for me as well. I concider myself a raw foodist but I do eat some cooked things and at times do add some small amounts of poultry. But I leave out the red meat and all the white stuff like flour and suger. Its true what they say, its not what you eat so much as it is what you dont eat. I try to live by that : ) All the best!
Hey thanks, yeh it really helps when youre starting out, seems like such a mystery.
Do get your sprowtees from a bulk bin at a food store? - like the stuff that folks usually cook? or does it really have to be seeds?
im at the moment soaking some oat groats and lentils - at the same time im figuring out what to do, can always grind them up if it doesnt work out, shouldnt be too bad.
@3vezda Hi, Yes I usually just buy bulk organic from whole foods of natural food store. It will al work just do what you can afford : ) Thanks for leaving a comment!
@antoconno You can use whatever, even a thin piece of cheese cloth or something like that. Im really not sure what its for but it make for quick drainage and keeps the seeds from falling out while tipped over. I leave mine leaning at a good angle so the excess water can drain while its sprouting. Hope that helps. thanks for watching!
@yourtuber8541 Thanks man! I would use cheese cloth no problem. Im actually using something simular now. I want to do a wheatgrass and sunflower green video sometime in the near future so stay tuned.
Thank you for this video! I have been wanting to go raw but I have JARS of lentils (I loved lentil soups) and didn't want to waste any food. Now I can still eat the lentils I have! Your video is extremely easy to follow! I will be starting my lentils in a couple days when I can eat solids again.
@ume511 Thats good to know. I wasn't aware that this video has had so many views. Awesome. Im really glad that my learning to sprout could help someone else. That was the first time I ever sprouted and it worked splendidly : ) Glad its working for so many!

hope its as good!!! pEace Yahweh bless have a great week!!
@7llazaren Well I personally would use raw organic every time, but if you have the ones in a bag you can also sprout them. They just need to be raw. Bulk organic is best though. Whole foods or any natural store would have them. : ) Hope this helps! Thanks for comments and questions everyone. im just learning myself but Im happy to share what I am learning. Vinn

Best sprouting video. Thanks man. Ohh yeah what about using cloth towels or cheese cloth instead of paper towels? Less paper being used.

Can they be eaten exactly the way you showed them sprouted on this video, not cooking them? I'm into eating raw.
