why is that ? isn't better to just buy a videocamera ?

@martynvk i know the question wasnt directed at me haha but DSLR's are doing a pretty good job quality wise so if your filming one steady, non-moving scene up close they make sense to use. video cameras mostly have accessory shoes though, incase you need to use a mic or what not, i havent seen a photo-camera that has these jacks yet.. if you are moving the camera around alot it would probably make sense to have a videocamera since the DSLR's dont really re-focus once ya move em. hope i helped ;P

My best friend left to Hollywood for Film school about two weeks ago and I miss him terribly.

We had a youtube group from "Itadakimasugroup" to "Allhandsondeac" We made videos together just like you guys and bonded so close I can call him my brother.

Before he left I had to make a goodbye gift, I went around and filmed all his friends and made a goodbye video also.

@braproductions Do they teach Sony Vegas Pro 9 and Adobe After Effects CS5 at the film school you're going to? Or do they use different programs?

@AquuL They dont use Vegas in the industry, they use Final Cut Pro and Avid workstations. So it will be hard to keep busting out Vegas tutorials. You may see tutorials for many new programs. But yes, i will use After Effects there. AFX is an industry standard for compositing.

@braproductions Vegas is a good industry standard but I believe that after effects is alittle better somewhat. But they really do almost the same things.

@braproductions I have to disagree about After Effects being the compositing industry standard. It's ok for motion graphics but nowadays most vfx shops use nuke, fusion, or smoke. I think  you can get a free learning addition of nuke off of the foundry's website if anyone's interested.
