  • I believe this was fixed. You get the death countdown when in the enemies spawn.

  • You can only destroy it with C4 or TV Missiles from a chopper. Otherwise it is completely indestructible.

    I thought the most someone can grab is a jet from the enemy team, I kinda wish the AA were put into better spots...especially conquest karg island, it only protects the ground vehicles not the jets at the boat like in this vid...

  • its a gay way to kill and ruin a game, SPAWN killing is for mere idiots that want an easy kill and cannot cope or play in a squad or team.

  • First they need to move the phalanx because it's too effective against defenders on the beach. Since it's so far away when you're on the beach and you get hit you just die with no explanation until the killcam comes up.

  • Wow the people commenting back on phonixfire's comment are retarded, they obviously don't understand the concept of hitboxes, yes all computers have latency, but in this video its not the computer (which upgrading doesn't fix latency very much anyway) or the internet its the games fucking horrible hitboxes.

  • No they don't need to make these destructable. They need to make it a standard feature to kick anyone who has more than 5 teamkills. Removing teamkills from crashed vehicles would also help protect those who made a mistake from those who are douchebags.

  • You can destroy them, I saw a similar video where the guys who where trapped used smoke to get near him and planted 5 sticks of c4.

  • That's just odd, I was killed when I was in one of those. It took 2 javelin missiles.

  • I have tried this tactic a couple of times (hate to admit it) and there are 3 ways to destroy it (that i know of) C4, repair tool and mortar. Repair tool is the most effective (but getting near the aa gun is hard, having squad members with you helps a ton). c4 works too but you need a lot of it. mortar works too, but it takes forever (not joking). DO NOT try to use the Amtrack, rpg, any gun or grenade or patrol boat, they dont do shit.

  • @joalstyme Especially dont suicide a vehicle into it, it wont work. noob tubes might work, idk though. Fun way to take out aa gun is to have a friend use the MAV to distract the gunner while you sneak up and use the repair tool or c4 on it. Works like a charm

  • its not invincible. the other team tossed c4 on it when i was in it, and blew it up and i died. the only reason i tried it was some fuckin dick was doing it the previous round. i did it to get back at him

  • Haha I just bought the game and this was the first thing I tried to do, figured it out on my own though... never expected the AA to be invincible though! That's what turns this tactic from fair to unfair.

  • @EmperorYogi The enemy carrier should be 'outside the battlefield' ie you get a 10 second countdown and then the game kills you. It's spawn camping.

  • @rjc34 It's a legit thing, It should be made destructible though. It was easy to deal with in BF2.

    That carrier is great for farming kills. Hover a little bird behind the carrier, ascend and destroy the jets when you see them start lighting up (use third person).

  • @phoenixfire8226 thats because hit detection is client side so lag causes that. If hit detection was server side you'd never hit anything because lag would make your bullets be where the enemy used to be.

  • @0naoko0 Happens to me on local servers with 14ms. I think it's the person shooting. He has high ping, so the game registers it as a hit no matter where you are. Some other FPS's do this also :(

  • @phoenixfire8226 That is called latency and it happens in every single computer system ever made. There is no fixing it and there never will be. Although you can shorten it by upgrading your internet or computer, it will never go away.

  • @MrDrProfessorAvocado No, that's called a shitty excuse for netcode where the hitbox detection is highly client side dependant. Sure this would happen in BC2 too for a few moments, but the implementation dice chose to have in BF3 is just made out of shit and frustration.

BF3s hitcode is done so the client calculates if you hit the enemy on your screen no matter his actual position, this leads to oneshot machineguns and dying while prone. Any other sensible game (eg BC2) performs the calculations serverside, which means that you won't hit the enemy every time due to lag so it compensates slightly with the client.

    You really can't tell the difference between these two implementations? Welcome to online gaming.

  • @Ninji00 I actually prefer the calculations being performed client side, there's nothing worse than your hits not registering...

  • @Ninji00 I know what it means, you saying the definition of what client side calculations are do nothing to further your argument. You actually proved me right by saying it is caused by lag, AKA, latency. Calculations being server side would do the exact same thing. When he got shot while prone, on the enemies screen and in the server's data, he died, but since he had such severe latency it took a while for his computer to get that information, so it took a while for him to die.

  • @MrDrProfessorAvocado No that actually wouldn't happen you aren't taking into consideration the fact that since the server does the hit detection it also decides who gets the kill. In client side hit detection if there is a disparity in the pings between players the laggy player will almost always win the fire fight. Because if I jump behind cover I am fully covered however on my opponents screen I am still visible thus he gets the kill. If it was server side his hits simply would not register.

  • @chivenyc What are you talking about? They are just showing you your latency now on the leaderboard. It is physically impossible to fix latency because you cannot have information travel at an infinite speed.

  • @phoenixfire8226 its better that way.... if you hit someone on your screen, you get the hit. Since BF3 isn't hitscan, its removes you not hitting anything because of latency. He deserved to get shot, and its annoying that there is a delay, but its not like you can react to bullets or anything, so its better this way.

  • @phoenixfire8226 All games do this, you pass a wall and die. Notable examples include Counterstrike, Call of Duty, Team Fortress 2, and Battlefield. Better to die when you "thought" you proned to missing a shot because of latency.

    correction all games that have client side network calculation(not the correct term but w/e), games where the server is calculating where the players are, dont have this problem, they have a problem with bullets sometimes not registering.
