  • Needs to have something in the other direction, i.e. Zombie Nation, which seems to have taken its main theme from Lazy Jones on the c64 ;)

  • well in my opinion 2:04-2:54 its not the Popcorn from Gershon Kingsley someone was before him Mozzart - Turkish March (is it correct translation?)

Anyway here is link and compare yourselves: youtube.com/watch?v=qBP5Qyxowug

  • @Kacper1702

Hmm, not sure that i see the similarity, thanks for the input though ^^

  • @kaiBiggins Gershon Kingsley did write "Pop Corn" (in 1969) but the widely known version was recorded by Hot Butter in 1972. Mozart, very much no.

  • @envanligfjant Thanks for the input =)

This is Popcorn indeed, Turkish March is very different melody, do you have no ears to hear the difference?

  • great vid.

  • Maybe an obvious one but Rainbow islands had a decent rendition of Over the Rainbow,

  • The music of Delta is another. I didn't realise it was a piece by Philip Glass until I watched the Qatsi trilogy and found myself humming along to the music.

  • Interesting... have to check that out!

  • Heh, not that big suprise that Popcorn had a SLIGHT effect on digital music.. ;) AFAIK it was one of the first "techno" tunes (if not the first) Good vid.

  • Haha I have the Synergy Album on Vinyl

  • Another c64 remake of "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence" was in the sewers level of the Last Ninja Remix.

Check out "Bad Cat c64" on youtube too, its a c64 remake of the The Flirts - Passion. :)

  • Hey... good stuff! Last Ninja was a great game. ^^

  • I forgot to mention, Great Video!!!

I think youll have to do a part 3 sometime! ;)

  • Teddy bears picnic is used in Banjo Kazooie I think. Of course, that's an N64 game and not a C64 game.

  • Hey thanks!

I just love the old C64 and i'm also very interested in music in general. Back in the old days i know i recognized a lot of songs, so now i took the time to explore them deeper.

  • great to see the compares with the originals, being a fan of the old sid composers, having known some of them personally, due to my participation in the c64 scene back in the 80's, this is nice material to find back here on youtube.
