In sporting terms, the difference between a 600 and a 1000cc super sports bike would only be noticable by professionals, their 0-60's are a difference of about half a second, the 0-100's about 1 second, and only in top drag speed would you notice any massive advantage
@schnitzelferk Not true. Not only will you notice the weight difference almost immediately, the power difference is pretty noticeable as well. The torque is what gets you; that extra oomph when you're coming out of corners, even without downshifting, comes in handy.
@snowskateskate Its not that I disagree per se, but, the placebo effect is seen in speed as well. Again, observative tools such as speedos and timed runs show very little advantage of going from a 600 to a 1000 unless youre a professional and can use that power to its fullest. Its not that im cynical, I just highly doubt 99.999% of all commenters here are bikers, let alone professionally experienced ones. An experienced rider on an R6 will beat an inexperienced rider on an R1
@crash86ed I didn't mean it that way at all, but I can see how one might think that. The bike I had prior (back in 1994.../:), was a 1992 ZX6. I thought that bike was fast as hell and it was for its time. So my point was rather that the 2008 ZX6R is an incredibly quick and fast bike for only being 599cc. It's such a completely different experience from the 92' I had. ~ I've always liked the Ninjas and haven't owned anything else.
how precise is this guy?? i think thats the difference between us normal guys and a pro racer, knows where his line is, gets on it and stays on it, no having to adjust his line or breaking, hits points A, B and C everytime. great vid
if you come out to track days, and practice a lot you'll be smooth as well. Taking mid corner adjustments out of your riding and learning lines will be one of the first things you'll do when you get out there...going fast just comes along when you focus on that stuff.

Ha.
crash86ed 1 year ago
@crash86ed Yep, a 600. It's fast for being a 599cc bike.

@e5cmb I just found it funny that you imply that any of the 600s are slow at all.

I'm surprised...the on/off throttle response on that thing seems to be pretty good. Wish my GSXR was like that...
