  • More genius than anyone realized. RIP Lou!

  • i saw lou a handful of times around 1980. i was in a band that used to open for the probers in southern new england, and used to frequent those clubs. i remember blind girl and black car.

  • my memory is sketchy, but didn't U2 open up for these guys that first gig in Somerville?

  • where's your hammer? TBD

  • bamm bam, contact me. Who are all these people that don't know that you, taxiboysdrummer are the incarnation of the band that best represented the life Lou sang about! Some of these comments about Lou make me wonder who they are talking about. I clicked on yr acct and saw that they cancelled you for inappropriate content and laffed my ass off. Brunos rule. you know who I am, you shared me with another band member.....those were the daze!K

  • I think he might be gay

  • He's like a Lou Reed\Boy George mIx!

  • How is it possible that we're at the 30th anniversary of the appearance of this band? Is there no way to tap the brakes on time?

  • Lou was truly unique in a crowd of extremely talented musicians in Boston then. His music is timeless.

  • I never realized this was a song about S&M until Lou explained it to me!

    :p

  • I miss Lou. The greatest!

  • Classic!!!!!!!!!

  • What a fruit cake! Love VILE

  • There was only ever one Lou Miami...he was great. May he never be forgotten!

  • Priceless. I'm glad you saved this Lou Miami clip from channel 68. I missed it at the time.

  • He was truly one of a kind. Captivating. And a real nice guy. I'll remember him always. RIP

  • best times of my life at the channel

  • Bless em, my favorite Boston Band

  • I had the good fortune to play on the same bill several times with Lou back in the day. His Monday nights at Cantones were incredible.

This song illustrates how perfectly& wonderfully demented Lou & The Kozmetix were. Thank for posting.

  • did you know mike mcdonald from southie?

  • I don't know Mike but I think I read his book if it's the same guy I'm thinking of. Although it seemed in his book he spend more time on the sidewalk than in the clubs due to his not being of legal drinking age.

  • well in mike mcadonalds book easter rising he went to clubs all the time

  • The November Group never had a female drummer

  • Pictures of the Homeland. I loved that band.

  • Is that Lou in the vinyl shorts, in the Human Sexual Response video Butt F*** ?

  • lou's best song was my baby wears rubber pants.

but that's from a different age.

  • does anyone knwo where yu can get tapes/cd recordings of this or any of lou's work? I'd love to play them for people here in San Fran.

  • This is great. Lou was ahead of his time. Thanks for posting these videos.

We used to see him at Jack's in Cambridge and the Channel in Boston in the late '70s.

I interviewed him once at the Rat. The article ran in the Cambridge Chronicle shortly after he died.

    Some of my favorites include:

    "Boy Detective"

"I'm in the Mood for Chemicals"

    "My Baby Wore Rubber Pants"

    "Fascist Lover"

And who could forget his rendition of "Delta Dawn"?

His band was tight. Lou was a true original and a nice guy too!

  • Fascist lover met my mother and they had a baby and that was me! He was a fascist! I miss lou. RIP.

  • boy does this take me back--what I'd give to have the Sir single again.

I do have a recording of Lou performing a bunch of covers on WERS. Ah, to have been young in Boston during the early 80s.

  • Jeeeezus..........

Used to see em at Cantones and the Space, what became of the drummer, She was HOT !

  • She left Lou to to play with November Group

  • Fun, fun times. I wanna go back.

  • I was the bass player on this video, and was bassist in the Kozmetix for two years from 1979-81.

    Bill

  • Bill,

Do you have any old demo tapes/discs? I would love to hear them.

    -Jared

  • This is priceless. Lou Miami's songs before 1983 were superior to his later work. See my posting on the "Blonde in a White Car" video to see why he changed his sound. Still, any Lou is Great. Thank you so much!

  • Finally, some Lou Miami! I've looked for years and never found any of his music online. I'm even the author of the Wikipedia article on him. Thanks for posting this. How did you happen to have it?
