  • If u really want to write a book, think about what you are going to write, the main events, begin writing whenever you are ready (about a month) and just be sure to add details so u stay interested. ANd other people reading your story also encourages you to write more and improve your story.

  • It sounds shallow considering all those other comments... but I was "hooked"m by this mans kickass accent:)

  • Informative

  • @soccergirliscool1 i like the plot but maybe you should change the title because no offence but grace's tale sounds more like a diary/life story on how someone became famous maybe try come up with a more suitable title but your plot sounds brillaint :)

  • Wow, it's inspiring to see so many teenagers or adults that started as kids writing about their successes in the comments section of YouTube.

  • I'm 16 and I'm writing a book called Europa. Distant planet from Earth and it's a utopia. It eventually gets drowsed in war and you look into the eyes of a 17 year old who leads armies, conquers battlegrounds and witnesses the world from a different perspective. He also witnesses the rise and fall of his clan/army, his loved ones and the world that he knows may also fall to the threat that has exist since the 1st war: The Defilers. It's a fantasy with romance and action. On page 42. Wish me Luck

  • @NinjaEpix how old are you now? I started writing a book when I was 7, lol. I still have it, it's too cute xd

  • I go to barnes and noble and just write, plus you can pick up other books for ideas

  • Well I've started a book last year and it's called Grace's Tale, people who I showed it to said they like it and I was shocked LOL it's about a girl named Grace and she goes on an adventure to find out who she really is. But then along the way she discovers that she is the one destined to save the universe..... yadadadada I bet u hate it now -_- thumbs up if u like plot thank you I want to know if ppl like the plot.

  • Well, im 12 years old and attempting to write a book. People call me stupid. My teacher said ignore them your writing is good so I'm determined to write this book :) like if ur in the same situation

  • @SpraynPraygames Good for you :3 Im in basically the same situation too. I have a great idea... (at least I think so) for a fiction story. Good luck with your writing!

  • @SpraynPraygames i tried first when i was 6 (fail) then when i was 11 (fail) and now, im gonna do it (WIN)

  • @SpraynPraygames I'm 16 and the same... I've been writing mature things since I was your age- and I can tell you that I understand famous novelists and their objective in their books, it is very beneficial...keep it up!

  • @SpraynPraygames Nobody says I am stupid and I have written a complete novel before so I'll just reply to this comment.

  • @SpraynPraygames Feel the exact same way man. I'm 13 and i've been writing a book for three years now. Just don't give up. Good luck!

  • THE ONLY DANGER I SEE ABOUT THIS IT IS THAT THERE ARE THOUSHANDS OF PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT WANT TO WRITE CRAP

  • im the kind of person who writes many small books and make them all 1 series:D

  • i am 13,000 words into my book and i am 13

  • @amkarasims123 coincidence?

  • @DefectedSalvation lol I had the polar opposite problem. I've been working on a book for a little over a year now. (I'm super busy in high school so it's taking me forever.) Yeah anyway so I'll be in class thinking of all this great dialouge/ "fluff" of the story, and yet it took me a really long time to just settle on the bear bones of the story. So basically I wrote stuff out that could work well in it but I had little idea what the plot was. XD Recently I've got the basics down finally. :]

  • as soon as he mentioned cleaning up his desk i imagined balled up tissues.

  • I'm on page 412 on the book that I'm writing and also I am revising it cause I wrote the ruff-draft of the book when I was 10 years old. (NO JOKE) But see when you get to page 50 or 60 it's like the book is your life and you take it everywhere you go. (all tho I don't plan on being an author when I grow up, I find it quite enjoyable) But here's some advise to all you talented young writers out there. GET TO PAGE 50 or 60!!! :D:D:D

  • @49819kamkam180 what will getting to page 50 or 60 do?

  • @October271987 It gets you determined to finish the book. Some people get determined while some others

    don't.

  • @49819kamkam180 great stuff, I am up to 65000 words, and on holidays :) Luvin life right now :)

  • @KerryMakis Wow you count your words? YOU my friend are a serious author!

  • im writing a book. I agree the 2 hour thing. I want 2 do the go away thing, but I'm 2 young.

  • I will finish by book by the end of this year. That gives me five months.

  • i'm 15 and i have 36 thousand words (91pages) in almost two months, and now i've got this entirely different idea, i've got 16 pages in two days.

    inspiration is uncontrolable! (:

  • to Curran430

its nothing like LOTR, and Gemini is a zodiac sign, there are far more evil things in my book then there is in lotr, and if i want my book to be a movie i will deff make sure Orlando is not in there, lmao... sorry i dont like him he has a pretty boy face, and faces like that i just want to break....

  • I have heard these tips thousands times and it sounds kinda banal and cliched, but it works.

  • I have written and uploaded a simple children's book ( it is animated but that is not my strength ). How do you really know if you are good enough to get published?

  • @Volkyre12

I think books can be interesting, but most people are dumb. The ones that are good are hard to find... also because people are dumb and dont appreciate them, so they dont get popular. just a thought.

  • Publishing is expensive, why not put it on a blog or Website?

  • @nowzadick then people can steal your book and publish it and get all the credit for the work you done

  • @nowzadick Because of zero profit.

  • 29 thousand words now :)

  • Damn this guy has charisma!!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH.

  • wgere us gus accent from?

  • -I would like to write a fantasy Book =] I want to be as famous as Jk. Rowling ( i know its big dream) She inspires me. & i don't want to give any of my ideas away Lol when im famous and my books are best Sellers I want to go back to were i used to look youtube video's on how to begin witting a book Haha.

  • ExPRESSION by John Siwicki

  • Write To express yourselves, dont write for greed.

  • So any book that get's published can become a best seller?

  • @RToor34 If Twilight can become a best seller... I think you get the point.

  • I've been writing books ever since i knew how to write, problem is i have so many ideas jumbled up in my head,, :/ that when i get through the first (few) chapters of a book, i get a new idea and end up writing a different thing, i always try to focus on one story, but i just never stop thinking... is that bad thing? Any tips on how to STOP thinking up new ideas?? i even try combining all my different ideas into a book that makes sense.. but it doesn't work... :/

  • @mirengirl

First write a list of all the ideas that come to your head

Second try to find our what you WANT to have as a main theme

Third try to keep yourself from listening to those new ideas when you finally fou a main theme:D

I hope you manage it in the end, I also love writing and you are right, new ideas do come to me too, but I try to make sense or/ and use of it since I alreadu have choosen my own theme

  • @mirengirl you cant stop new ideas, write the new ideas I would say and than return to the story where your busy with. In this case you wont forget the new ideas and you can still finished your story.

something other try to get new ideas of your story where your busy with, so you remember what the new ideas are and it is always handy later in the story.

  • @dragongame2 :D ^_^ yeah i guess,,, hah but it never ends up like that cause when i'm writing my oter book, when i go back to it after writing down the other idea, my brain just stops think about that one until i at least finish up 4 or 5 chapters of the other one. ahh my brain is so messed up XD

  • Whizzo-Fine Press publishes only the best! DAMN IT!

  • "writah" haha i love his accent

  • dude i wrote a book it took me four going to five years and the main reason that is is because i want it to be perfect. I want it to be better then most books i want it to become a classic. so it changes a lot

  • your office is huge, dragon speak doesn't understand a word I say, unless I speak like noel coward, not big on accents and I have a clear, articulate voice for a Scot.

  • your office is huge

  • if u dont know how to write a book ask me, cause i am the best of the best

  • Anyone can try writing a book but only a small percentage are true writers, so if you want to become a writer, you NEED another backup career

  • He reminds me of Joseph Prince

  • helpful video i am also currently writing a book, the prologue being posted on my channel any feedback would be appreciated :P

  • can somebody please help me with developing characters appearinces cause i'm good with personalitys but the way my characters look now when i read it and think about it i dont like it so can somebody please help

  • I've got 2 great ideas for movies, so I'm trying to write them as books but there isnt enough filler,

how many characters can fiction books have so the reader knows who they are and how they think, some books only have like 6 is there a limiy

  • @YendolX i'm having the exact same problem and i'm trying to put my movie ideas as books first too i'm stuck on developing characters

  • @666fannyfart So basicly a porn book :P

  • Writing a book is one thing, but having a good design layout is another. I've been designing books for clients for 3 years and my video response might give you some ideas. Perhaps your finished piece of work will turn out better as a result. Good luck =)

  • im 15 and i've always wanted to be a writer, i have lots of ideas but i sort of get around a few pages on a story when i have a new idea that i think is better and i stop writing the one i was doing before that......and i can never seem to write a whole lot on it before i want to start a new story ....can anybody give me a tip on who to write a full story and not to stop in the middle of it ??

  • @becca0668 Maybe try just quickly jotting down your ideas and then coming back to them later, and just write as much as possible. What you're doing works for some people, but writing is such a personal thing that it's hard to pin down exactly how to do it... hope this helps

  • @calalilly1100 okay thanks

  • You can have results or excuses but you can't have both. good advice by Dale Beaumont

  • I sometimes get stuck when I don't get the right word I'm looking for that explains something just the way I want it.

  • o yeah and i just want to show off that i'm thirteen and i'm on page 200 and i have had no help with anything :)

  • @FunnyZebraGuy 200 words doesnt mean that its any good. maybe its 200 words of crap.

  • @frequencydude my cousin is a published fiction writer and he said its good he said its not the best but its worthy of publishing

  • if you cant find names try and find words to describe your characters and then find them in diffrent languages thats what i did for my bad guys name it starts with null because that meane nothing in german

  • See I have this amazing story (well in my opinion) but I just can't bring myself to write it lol.....

  • Great! he is so great! love him!

  • I am currently writing a historical novel. I think that it is good to start off with because you already have a core storyline to morph and alter.

  • I wrote about 50 pages of one book and then got an idea for another. its hard trying to commit to one thing when you have so many different ideas!

  • @tuberlicious05 well thats true. i have to read 10 books at a time i mean switch off. maybe you should take a brake from that one and start a new story then come back to the first one.

  • @tuberlicious05 make a sequel :D

  • Will knowing how to write a book help in literary criticism? Or how about in publishing books about history or theories? I heard scientists publish books on their own about theories or discoveries.

  • Is it a good idea for me to write two books at one time? fiction and nonfiction. Thanks!

  • no,you need money for publicity, money for illustrators etc. and if your book has a boring coveer ,know one will buy it .if 2000 copies of your book are sold ,you will make only $2500

  • im 13 i have 4 complete stories

    to me writing is easy,

what is hard to me is to find names.

  • You know what you could do if you can't come up with any good names? Visit a graveyard and take a look at the tombstones. It's actually quite inspiring :)

  • @ChuiTito96 Yeah. i know. I've written heaps. Some are for school though.

  • how do i decide what i want to write about? there are so many things

  • write about what you know... sounds cliché, but it works

  • The way to write a book or simply be a author is to write and not stop...

  • Hahaha... He thinks his writing desk is tiny! I write sitting up in bed, propped up on cushions!

  • Hey I'm ten years old and I'm writing a novel. Will publishers take my book seriosly and publish it? Thank You.

  • they most likely will my brother is 11 and he is going to make a novel, just spend as much time as you can writing it and you will most likely make it good and it will be published

  • I would've sent it in without telling them my age if I were you... Or finish the book and take a look at it again a couple of years later, edit and then send it in

  • Thank you. :)

  • @2010gmoney

Not even as an 11 year old.

  • hey i'm Benn, i'm probably one of the last people u'd ever expect to write a book, i'm only 17 but just say that i'm really committed to my book and i feel that it will really effect people, i never give up and i won't stop untill people from all around the country are reading my book. but all i want to know is what are the chances of it becoming big? and yer i really want this to happen. and also if it doesn't become big but people do like it how much money do you think i could make

  • fuck u you suck at writeing books

  • i dont read books i dont write i cant spell i dont know grammer i skip all the time wen i was in school but fuck it ima write a book i mean how hard can it be

  • Im 15 years old. Half-way done with a fiction book, 25 thousand words.

  • @Astn42 are you almost finished? cause im trying to write a book and i cant seem to start but i have this great idea though

  • @guchi345 No. Iv'e decided to abandon that idea. I'm writing a new and (in my opinion) better book. Why are you having trouble starting?

  • @Astn42 Hey im also 15 but Im not nearly as far on mines :(

  • Also I brainstormed names of characters , villages and other stuff for my book. I think about the story when I am on my bike or in the shower. I know the main character really good and that halps when I have her in an weird situation, because then I know how she will react (like you would know of your bff). I think that if I don't make my 60.000 words I will still have experienced a great time of writing and I would have gotten loads of new ideas for the future. Have fun writing and good luck.

  • This really doen't help a 7th grader much but i guess thanks. I was wondering if you could make a video about how a 7th grader could make a book in there spare time.

    Write me back(:

    -Elyziaa<3

  • it does at the bigining :) just take those notes. Some great ideas come in places where you have nothing to write with ;D Let me know if you finish the book. I can even help if you want ;D (I'm on the hook now)

  • its easy girl look.

open ur word program w/e it is and begin by creating characters and listing them as protagonists and antagonists. then list a series of events u wish for them to go thru or happen during the story.

pretty much just organize it all and once u have characters, events and all those things THEN you start writing.

u have to be organized thats the key to doing it.

but if u just start writing a story without any of these things u'll have a harder time, not impossible, just harder

  • also it might help u if you google 11th grade english courses and look thru their syllabus.

as a junior ur gonna be taught what the role of a character is called such as a protagonist and stuff.

its ubber boring but if u really wana write is then go for it. o.^

  • I am young to and for me it works to write during not important lessons. I write little scenes with the same persons in it.for example I have 3 a4 papers whith a scene in chapter 11 !

  • how to write a GOOD book.

    1. get high.

    2. get more high.

    3. get ur laptop out.

    4. waalaaa write a baddasssss story

  • That's how I do it.

  • @Yayakills I bet that is how Stephenie Meyer wrote her book.

  • the good news is, if Twilight can become a top seller, then any book can become one.

    hehe

  • @zazenzach LOL!!

  • @zazenzach that actually helps

  • @zazenzach i absolutely agree

  • @zazenzach That is so mean but so true

  • @zazenzach If you're thinking that, then you haven't seen the tripe lying about in the dregs of self publishing. Stephanie Meyer needs to give some of those people a writing lesson.

  • @zazenzach I know you made this comment over a year ago but I really gotta say. unfortunately in the world we live in, books don't become best sellers if they're good books. They become best sellers if they can sell... i know that doesn't make a lot of sens but you're a smart person so you probably know what I meant.

  • @zazenzach i actually love twilight. i like the story of it., the strength of the love, feelings and lose.

  • @zazenzach No, BAD books will become bestsellers. Like chick flicks and action movies.

  • @Yayakills lol

    im gona try ur approach

  • I have kind of racing thoughts.

I think about different things almost simultaneously... and I want to get it into a certain subject or book... but I don't know what to write about.

It's not like I can make a 40,000 word book on one subject... XD

    Fuck me. Lol!

  • The goal is the journey. Outsourcing the writing kinda makes the whole point of writing go away...

  • Hi I am young, I am In Jr high. I am still learning grammar. I am working on a story. I was wondering if you could help me with grammar. Will you help me?

May I use Some of your time?

  • How much does it take to publish the book?

  • Unfortunately, sometimes as long as couple years. It is definitely a business to have patience with. That's why many people give up before they get started. You have to remain persistent and determined to succeed.

  • i am 15 and want to write but i dont know what to do? can you send me a message or something with a list of what to write about (examples) and how to write so that people want to carry on reading your book? Thank You.

  • check out GetPublishedTV(dot)com for lots more free videos

  • @Disneylovercheese No way, me too. What's your book going to be about?

  • @Disneylovercheese dude send me a message and ill giveu some ideas cause im the best of the best i swaear not even an author but im good

  • @Disneylovercheese

You should be really good at English if you wanna write a nice story of any kind and I find it easier to write a fiction book that is focussed around what you think is entertaining and your interested in. Hope it helped :)

  • @Disneylovercheese same here 16 how do i get my book published?

  • @Disneylovercheese I am also fifteen years old, and due to my zeal and motivation I managed to write a book of 156,000 words in approximately 5 months, I am now awaiting word from an agent! Good luck, it is possible!

  • "Writing a book is easy if you know how! Best-selling author Dale Beaumont share five of the best tips to help you write a book faster and easier than you have ever though possible. Watch this presentation now and marvel at the simplicity of this approach." You forgot the "T" in thought.

  • you know regular people can write books if they want, im writing a book now and im not a nred, writers make good money, there is not alot of nerds who write books, what maybe 5% of the earth is nerds writing books...... thats not alot, and 30% are normal writers.............

  • Yes. I didn't post that comment.. It must have been my brother.

  • @grandtheftauto5000

I really hate people like you. The ones who act like being a nerd or a geek is a bad thing.

  • @grandtheftauto5000 What do nerds have to do with writing a book?

  • @grandtheftauto5000 thats BS. my mother is a writer but doesnt earn shit. her first book sold 10000 copies but it was not like she got a whole lot of money for it. only if u sell a shitload of books you become rich. its not all fun and games... writing is hard, and only if your book contains something that can sell at 'that' time like harry potter. then u make money. writing is a harsh lifestyle. write it for yourself not for others or for the money. because u most likely be dissapointed.

  • @grandtheftauto5000

    whats the other 65 percent?

  • By the way: what is wrong with the desk he is showing in the beginning? All you need is room for your computer/laptop/notebook and off you go. My desk is even smaller and most of the time I write sitting my beanie bag, with my laptop on my ... well... lap.

  • I just couldn't see outsourcing my book to someone else. The whole fun of it is the accomplishment of getting a book fully written on your own. That's how I see it. I'm writing one myself.

  • exactly

  • Incase anyone read the comments below, I just want to set some things straight. First off, what you guys are/were talking about is really off topic, like, come on! But, anyway, magic in REAL life is more or less evil, as most of it comes from demons(Although demons giving people demonic powers is very rare). And I don't think it would make sence for a angel to give people magic powers. But magic in BOOKS is NOT evil. Most magic in books is the light deafeting the dark. And thats GOOD.

  • You believe demons exist for real? You have to be kidding. Demons only exist in fiction, such as fairy tales.

  • Sorry for taking so long, but yes, I do. And not as in, hydras, vampires, that stuff, but as in fallen angels. And, a fact many people get wrong, is that demons have horns, wear black and have creepy cloaks. The fact is, I would think demons are beautiful, but they are evil, so not the same as angel. It never said in the bible that "The angels fell from heaven, and grew 4 heads and turned red."

  • Demons don't exist. Please, wake up from your delusions.

  • I am sorry, delusion? I am in fact perfectly sane, so I am not having delusions. I would like you to explain why you think I am having delusions if I think God exists? I hope you will try and learn more about the bible in the future. Because, unlike the sterotype, not all of us throw crosses and holy water at each other screaming "You will burn in hell you evil sinner, but I am not because I am perfect!" Christains or Catholics are no better then anyone else. So please, know what you talk about.

  • Some people believe in gods, others in demons and quite a few believe leprechauns dwell in their garden. As long as you don't fly any planes into skyscrapers or force me to believe you, it's all fine by me.

  • Well, I guess that makes scence. (Although the whole plane thing was a little much, a lot of people died.) But, I won't force you to believe me, you can do what you want, it's you're life anyway, thats what free will is for. Well, I guess the debate is over, so thanks for you're time. Who knows, it might make someone else make their choice?

  • chronicles of narnia is a christian book in fact it was one of CS lewis' agenda. If you have read it you will find much symbolism to the bible. its last book was based on revelations the last book of the bible try reading it.

  • Hey you writers. It is writing, not writting. Knew that?

  • what does this sign mean ; doesnt it mean to change sumthin like this quote "hey thats not cool" i commented; bob walked to class and i followed curious un quote

  • Inuyashadabomb, are you asking about the "semi-colon"? It's normally used to join two independent clauses. Here is an example:

Inuyashadabomb asked about the semi-colon; perhaps he will learn to use it well. If you noticed, the second clause after the semi-colon begins with a lower-case letter. Also, it MUST be an independent clause, i.e., a stand-alone phrase, and not a sentence fragment.

It is best use a semi-colon with two related thoughts; you can think of it as a "soft stop."

  • also, anything after a semi-colon wouldnt make sense on its own, ie:

Baculus saying 'perhaps he will learn to use it well'

would be complete nonsense on its own. the semi colon connects it to the rest of the paragraph.

  • i have 5 book ideas and im 15 i want to wright horror and triller type books that is what most or there books are about except one of them but i cant wright because i need a program on my computer and i dount know how to get it can someone please help me

  • What you need is; get your self a Blog and start writting. Writting should be a hobby!!!

  • You should be writing instead of watching this video.

  • can you write a boook on micrsoft word or do u need publisher and were do u take it once its done :S helpp x

  • You can write with anything. All you really need is pen and paper. I use Open Office. But you might want to look at Whizfolders. It's an excellent writing tool for numerous writing tasks.

Some people sell their work before they write it. If you want to market to publishers you'll want to do your homework first. Know the writers guide lines. Check Writer's Market for details.

Another option would be finding an agent who will do all the selling work for you. Of course, they take about 10%.
