I have got the game, but I think in terms of gameplay, it's nothing new, and I guess I felt more intrigued by previous iterations. I felt the story is a bit deeper though, which is great!
Yeah, I agree they haven't really introduced anything, but there ARE some elements I really like (Hoverboots for instance). I liked the story a lot too..
