SATURN32X is waaaayyyyy off base! Thornley is an incredible guitarist. Songwriting-wise they both have their strong points and similiarities with favoring altered tunings. Music-wise Thornely is WAY heavier overall. Chris Cornell is an awesome singer but he has bad days too. Chris had the benefit of being in Soundgarden and Audioslave and thats a HUGE part of him being so successful. If it wasnt for that you probably wouldne hear much from him. Both are world class artists and love their work!
I've seen Ian live and he is usually much better than this. Everyone is entitled to an off night. Maybe he's sick? Maybe he's drunk? Maybe the monitor mix is drowned.... There are a lot of a variables... This was just a bad gig for him.

Thornley normally sounds awesome live. For me, the only reason this song sounds bad is because I think it's the worst song Ian's ever written/performed. Pretty much everything else he's done is much better.

I love this song, but I don't really care for the idea that if you like a singer/band, then you have to support everything they do. Thornley could put out an album of children's songs, and certain fans would be like, "Thornley's awesome! Don't dis this album!"
A true Ian Thornley fan would know this man is a guitar genius. I have seen them play at least ten times and every time has been amazing in different ways. His guitar riffs are amazing! Rock on Thornley.
WOW!!! They SUCK live. this song on the album is way good, but this, ugh. The singer sounds like he's trying to force out a crap. The guitars are ok though.
yeah, ofcourse the audio devices would pick up that sound as well. When I made that comment, I didnt know it was a closing song. I listen to the album one a lot so when I heard this I thought, "OMG, they're terrible." but it's cool now. Does anyone know if thornley's gonna make a new album?

Your judging Thornley's talent by this one live clip, I've seen plenty of clips where Cornell is way off vocally
Don't get me wrong these guys have to hit some highs so its to be expected that they have some off nights
But Thornley is a way better guitarist then Cornell, one of the best out there
If you were to look at these two guys from a talent stand point as a opposed to record sales Thornley is the better artist hands down.

The problem isn't him, it's how loud the guitar is compared to his voice.
the vocals should be quieter or the guitar should be louder.
